  • G-001 Release date disagreement: cardboardconnection.com states "Release Date: September 21, 2022" (verbatim, used as the recorded value); stockx.com product page states "09/14/2022" for the same product. Could not resolve to a single authoritative date.
  • G-002 Sources agree that Chronicles base parallels vary by sub-brand block (checklistcenter.com and cardboardconnection.com both state this in prose), but two independent fetches produced mutually contradictory per-block breakdowns (different print runs and different parallel-name groupings assigned to the same blocks on repeat fetches) - the exact anti-fabrication warning sign this project has been burned by before. Recorded only the base parallel rainbow (Bronze/Green/Green Ice/Pink/Red/Blue/75th Anniversary/Purple/Gold/Platinum) and the Asia wave, which appeared identically verbatim across 3 independent source fetches; did NOT record which of the 27 blocks each parallel does/does not apply to, and omitted the block-specific print-run claims entirely.
  • G-003 tcdb.com's structural "Parallel Sets" list for this product (Inserts.cfm page) names "Silver", "Black", and "Orange Wave" as existing base parallels, but no source gave a verifiable print run or unnumbered status for any of the three, and the only source that attempted print runs for them (a per-block cardboardconnection.com breakdown) contradicted itself across fetches (see G-002). Omitted from parallels.csv per "evidence or omit" rather than guess a print run.
  • G-004 Cards 536-570 (Titanium Draft Position block) are each individually serial-numbered to the player's own NBA draft position (e.g. "Cade Cunningham - Detroit Pistons #/ 1" for the #1 overall pick, "... #/ 55" for a later pick) rather than sharing one block-wide print run. This does not fit the tier file's single print_run value cleanly; recorded print_run=UNKNOWN / serial_numbered=yes with the per-card pattern quoted in evidence_quote rather than inventing one number for the whole block.
  • G-005 cardboardconnection.com's live checklist fetch returned card #120 (Rookies & Stars block) as "Jeremiah Robinson-Earl - Villanova Wildcats" (a college team), the only one of his 12 appearances across the base set not listing "Oklahoma City Thunder". Treated as a likely site transcription error and corrected to Oklahoma City Thunder for consistency with license_status (NBA-licensed, team_or_school = NBA team) and his 11 other cards; flagging here rather than silently altering sourced data.
  • G-006 Noir Sneaker Spotlight (10 cards, stated #/99 by checklistcenter.com) appears only on checklistcenter.com; not corroborated by cardlines.com, cardboardconnection.com, or beckett.com (beckett.com returned HTTP 403 and could not be checked directly). Recorded as single-source.
  • G-007 rookie_flag is only marked yes/no for cards 1-50 (the Chronicles block), where tcdb.com's checklist page explicitly suffixes rookie names with "RC" (cards 29-50) and omits it for veterans (cards 1-28). None of the other 26 blocks' checklist pages carried an explicit RC marker in the sources used, even though many of the same 2021 draft-class players reappear throughout the product; rookie_flag is UNKNOWN for cards 51-725 rather than inferred from being part of the same draft class.
  • G-008 beckett.com/news (the primary Beckett checklist article for this release) returned HTTP 403 on every fetch attempt and could not be used as a cross-check source.
  • G-009 Some parallels in this release are known from sources to apply to only SOME sub-brand blocks, but the captured note was too vague to resolve to a validated block list. Those rows carry scope_type=UNKNOWN, which means the scope was not recorded - NOT that the parallel spans the whole base set.

  • G-023 Per-set parallel-tier repair pass (2026-08-27, targeted): looked for insert/autograph colour parallel tiers for these non-base sets and found none to source -- Noir Sneaker Spotlight. checklistcenter.com's per-set Parallels line was empty/absent for this insert during the 2026-08-27 targeted parallel-tier repair pass. Left unannotated.
  • G-024 Some parallels in this release are known from sources to apply to only SOME sub-brand blocks, but the captured note was too vague to resolve to a validated block list. Those rows carry scope_type=UNKNOWN, which means the scope was not recorded - NOT that the parallel spans the whole base set.
  • G-025 tcdb stores the literal string TBD in the card-number column for four rows across three of this release's autograph sets, and the token is reproduced on every parallel tier checked, so it is not a per-page artifact. Withheld rather than written or repaired; the players are named here so the roster survives. Hometown Heroes Rookie Auto (sid 331161, cid 19733435): Neemias Queta - Sacramento Kings - TBD also on Platinum sid 331166 (cid 19735244) and Asia Gold sid 331162 (cid 19733479). Limited Rookie Jersey Auto (sid 331169): Kai Jones - Charlotte Hornets (cid 19735397) and Neemias Queta - Sacramento Kings (cid 19735398) - both also TBD on Super Prime sid 331174 (cids 19735613/19735614). Phoenix Rookie Auto (sid 331184, cid 19735847): Neemias Queta - Sacramento Kings - also TBD on Black sid 331187 (cid 19735979). Queta DOES carry a real code in Rookie Cornerstones (RCO-NQU), and Kai Jones carries HHR-KAI and PRA-KAI in the other two sets, but constructing HHR-/LRJ-/PRA- codes for them from those siblings would be derivation, not sourcing, so it was not done. Result: 39 of 40 written for Hometown Heroes Rookie Auto, 38 of 40 for Limited Rookie Jersey Auto, 39 of 40 for Phoenix Rookie Auto. https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/331169/2021-22-Panini-Chronicles-Limited-Rookie-Jersey-Auto
  • G-026 Three card_number codes are each rendered on two different players inside one set. All were written verbatim on both rows and flagged in notes rather than dropped or repaired, per spec (chase_cards is unique on set+number+player, not set+number). APP-MMO = Malik Monk and Monte Morris (Apprentice Signatures). LRJ-JPR = Jason Preston and Joshua Primo (Limited Rookie Jersey Auto). PRA-JCH = Josh Christopher and Justin Champagnie (Phoenix Rookie Auto). In every case both players are a plausible initials fit and the duplicate is reproduced identically on an independently-numbered parallel sid, so it is not a single-page transcription slip. OPEN QUESTION FOR A HUMAN: the cid-adjacency test that discriminates a copy-down smear from a genuine collision CANNOT FIRE ON THIS RELEASE - every one of these checklist pages assigns cids strictly sequentially in display order across all rows, so every consecutive pair of rows is cid-adjacent and adjacency carries no information. Nor do the sibling sets settle LRJ-JPR: PRA-JPR and RCO-JPR are Jason Preston while GSJ-JPR and HHR-JPR are Joshua Primo. No clean marketplace seller title was found for the second player of any of the three pairs (the one eBay /itm/ page found for LRJ-JPR Jason Preston, https://www.ebay.com/itm/177465835889, carries the tcdb fingerprint string "(AU, MEM, RC)" in its See-more module and is therefore circular evidence, not corroboration). https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/331139/2021-22-Panini-Chronicles-Apprentice-Signatures
  • G-027 Two tcdb pages for the same card disagree by one letter. The National Pride Signatures base page (sid 331175) prints NPS-TMD for Theo Maledon, and so does an independent rendering of the same sid via https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/331175/National-Pride-Signatures-2021-22-Panini-Chronicles-Basketball?PageIndex=2. The National Pride Signatures Black parallel page (sid 331178, cid 19735745) prints NPS-TMB for the same player, reproduced on two different valid slugs. A colour parallel carries the same printed number as its base card, so exactly one of these is a tcdb error. NPS-TMD was written because it is what the set's own page prints on two independent renderings; NPS-TMB was NOT written and NOT used to repair anything. All 19 other codes agree between the two pages. Unresolved - needs a card in hand or a clean marketplace seller title. https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/331178/2021-22-Panini-Chronicles-National-Pride-Signatures-Black
  • G-028 ZERO rows written for the Noir Sneaker Spotlight insert set (sets.csv card_count 10). No checklist for it could be sourced anywhere, and the weight of evidence is that it does not belong to this release at all. (1) tcdb's Inserts.cfm for the 2021-22 Panini Chronicles basketball parent (sid 320462) lists 68 insert sids and 20 parallel sids and contains NO Sneaker Spotlight set of any kind; the 68 insert sids account exactly for the other 9 sets.csv sets plus their tcdb parallel tiers plus two Titanium subsets (see G-029), leaving no room for it. (2) The one numeric gap inside that sid block, 331183, sits exactly where an alphabetical Noir entry would fall (between National Pride Signatures Silver 331182 and Phoenix Rookie Auto 331184) and was probed: it redirects to the tcdb homepage, meaning the sid exists but renders no cards, against a known-live control (sid 331130) fetched with the identical slug shape. (3) https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2021-22-panini-chronicles-basketball-nba-cards has no Sneaker Spotlight section at all - its autograph/insert sections are exactly the other 9 sets. (4) https://cardsmithsbreaks.com/full-checklist/2021-22-panini-chronicles-basketball/ shows "Noir Sneaker Spotlight" only as an empty filter label with no card entries. (5) Sneaker Spotlight is a real set in the STANDALONE Panini Noir basketball product (2020-21 and 2021-22 - e.g. https://www.psacard.com/auctionprices/basketball-cards/2020-panini-noir-sneaker-spotlight/198978 and https://www.breakninja.com/basketball/21-22-Panini-Noir-Basketball-Checklist-For-Card-Set-Sneaker-Spotlight-Signatures.php?page_no=1), and tcdb also carries "Noir Spotlight Signatures" sets under the 2021-22 Panini Chronicles SOCCER parent (sid 308525; e.g. sids 317258/317260/317262) - two separate products from which the name could have leaked. This corroborates existing gap G-006, which already recorded the set as single-source (checklistcenter.com only). OPEN QUESTION FOR A HUMAN: does the Noir Sneaker Spotlight row belong in this release's sets.csv at all? Not touched - sets.csv is not ours to edit.
  • G-029 tcdb's Inserts.cfm for this parent lists two insert sids that have no corresponding row in our sets.csv: 331198 "Titanium Draft Year" and 331199 "Titanium Jersey Number". They are distinct from the base_card_tiers.csv "Titanium Draft Position" block at base cards 536-570 (that block is part of the 725-card base run and is already recorded). Recorded here as uncatalogued subsets rather than filled, because a subset with no sets.csv row is a gap, never a new set. Not investigated further and no cards written. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/320462/2021-22-Panini-Chronicles
  • G-030 The Inserts.cfm sid arithmetic reconciles exactly (68 insert sids = the 9 sets.csv non-base sets + their tcdb parallel tiers + the 2 uncatalogued Titanium subsets of G-029; 20 parallel sids = our 17 base-scope parallels + the Silver/Black/Orange Wave already recorded as missing in G-003), and it shows that OUR parallels.csv is the short side, exactly as it was on the two prior Chronicles seasons. Missing from parallels.csv, each with a tcdb sid: an "Asia Jade" and an "Asia Gold" (or "Asia Red and Gold") tier for all nine non-base sets - Airborne Signatures Asia Jade 331132 / Asia Red and Gold 331133, Apprentice Signatures Asia Gold 331140 / Asia Jade 331141, Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs Asia Gold 331148 / Asia Jade 331149, Hall of Fame Autographs Asia Gold 331154 / Asia Jade 331155, Hometown Heroes Rookie Auto Asia Gold 331162 / Asia Jade 331163, Limited Rookie Jersey Auto Asia Gold 331170 / Asia Jade 331171, National Pride Signatures Asia Jade 331176 / Asia Red and Gold 331177, Phoenix Rookie Auto Asia Jade 331185 / Asia Red and Gold 331186, Rookie Cornerstones Asia Gold 331193 / Asia Jade 331194 - plus TWO SUPER PRIME TIERS THAT sets.csv's OWN NOTES NAME but parallels.csv does not carry: Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs Super Prime (sid 331152) and Limited Rookie Jersey Auto Super Prime (sid 331174). parallels.csv is not ours to edit; recorded here for a later pass. No print runs are asserted - none were sourced. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/320462/2021-22-Panini-Chronicles
  • G-031 Every one of the 296 card_number values written for this release comes from tcdb.com. Each set is corroborated by at least one second, independently-numbered tcdb sid (its own parallel tier) and in two cases by a second tcdb rendering path (Gallery.cfm), but tcdb remains the single upstream for the numbers themselves. Only ONE genuinely independent confirmation of a printed code was obtained: a whatnot.com seller listing title reading "2021-22 Panini Chronicles Gold Standard Cade Cunningham RPA ON CARD AUTO Asia Jade #GSJ-CCU" (https://www.whatnot.com/listing/TGlzdGluZ05vZGU6MTYzMzc2MDUy), which confirms the letter-coded scheme and the GSJ- prefix but not any other set's prefix or any individual suffix. cardboardconnection.com corroborates ROSTERS only and renumbers this release's coded sets 1..40 (verified on Hometown Heroes Rookie Auto). comc.com card pages 403 on every attempt. eBay on this line remains tcdb-seeded: every /p/ catalogue page found carries "(AU, RC)", and the one clean-titled /itm/ page found (https://www.ebay.com/itm/177465835889) carries "(AU, MEM, RC)" in a See-more module. Logged per spec so that a consumer knows these numbers rest on one catalogue.
