Eight retired/veteran stars on rookie-ticket design, hard-signed, lettered codes (HRT-AD ... HRT-KI). tcdb sid 168719 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/168719/2017-18-Panini-Contenders) states "Total Cards: 8" and renders 8 rows: Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving. cardboardconnection agrees at 8 cards (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-contenders-basketball-nba-cards). THE SET IS NOT UNIFORMLY NUMBERED: its 8 rows carry SN49 on 6 and SN99 on 2 - a per-card variable run. sets.csv cannot hold a print run at all and the figure is not one number, so it is recorded here in words only; see gaps G-003.

Checklist · not documented
This set has a recorded count of 8, but the card-by-card checklist is not yet in the catalogue. That's an open research question, not a statement that no checklist exists. If you know a source that documents it, tell us — a pointer to one is exactly what closes these.
