- G-001 Base set scope: the brand brief anticipated a ~165-card Season Ticket base set combining veterans and rookies. All consulted sources instead show Season Ticket = 100 cards (#1-100, veterans only), with the 2020-21 rookies issued at #101-145 exclusively as autographed Rookie Season Ticket / Rookie Ticket Autographs (44 cards, #102 not issued). base_set_size is therefore recorded as 100. tcdb.com additionally states "Total Cards: 160" for its 2020-21 Panini Contenders checklist, a figure that could not be reconciled (it likely folds photo variations and/or sticker autos into the same checklist); tcdb pagination could not be traversed to confirm.
- G-002 No consulted source (checklistcenter, sportscardchecklist, breakninja, tcdb) shows RC / Rookie Card designations on any Season Ticket base card; sportscardchecklist explicitly returned "No RC designations". All 100 base cards therefore carry rookie_flag=UNKNOWN, although the base checklist is understood to be veterans only.
- G-003 Distribution channel is undocumented for 17 of the 18 base parallels. Only Opening Night Ticket FOTL has an explicitly sourced channel (FOTL). The Game Ticket colour family (Blue, Purple, Green, Red, Bronze) is absent from checklistcenter's hobby-oriented parallel list while a 2020-21 Contenders cello box is advertised as "12 Packs Per Box - 3 Inserts And 1 Exclusive Parallel Per Pack", which suggests Game Ticket is the retail family - but no consulted source states this, so all are recorded as channel=UNKNOWN. [REVIEWED 2026-08-17: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-17: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 17 of 18 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: count is now 79 of 80 - the channel pass resolved -62 of these with cited evidence. - G-004 Release date disagreement: blog.paniniamerica.net's first-look article gives an estimated release of 2021-04-21; gogts.net and dacardworld.com both state 2021-05-19 for the hobby box; StockX lists 2021-05-05 for the blaster box. 2021-05-19 recorded as the hobby release date (two sources).
- G-005 Game Ticket Green, Red and Bronze are recorded as unnumbered because neither sportscardchecklist nor breakninja shows serial numbering for them (while both show /49 for Blue and /25 for Purple). This is inference from absence of data, not an explicit statement that the cards are unnumbered.
- G-006 Card-count disagreements between checklistcenter and sportscardchecklist for several autograph sets: Contenders Autographs 40 vs 39, Legendary Contenders Autographs 40 vs 39, Rookie Ticket Swatches Autographs 39 vs 40. Higher/checklistcenter figure recorded where the two differ; both figures noted in set notes.
- G-007 Lottery Ticket insert (14 cards, with Championship Edition and Cracked Ice parallels) is single-source (sportscardchecklist); breakninja lists the set name but no count and checklistcenter omits the set entirely.
- G-008 Possible duplication: sportscardchecklist lists both "Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation" (40 cards) and "Rookie Variation Season Ticket" (43 cards), and checklistcenter lists both "Rookie Season Ticket Auto Photo Variation" (40) and "Rookie Ticket Auto Variation" (43). Whether these are two distinct variation sets or two renderings of one set could not be resolved; both are recorded.
- G-009 Primary sources could not be consulted: cardboardconnection.com returned ROBOTS_DISALLOWED on every attempt (direct HTTPS also blocked by the egress proxy) and beckett.com/news returned HTTP 403. checklistinsider.com has no page for this release (404) and cardsmithsbreaks.com returns "Invalid Checklist" for the non-Optic product. Base set size, parallel print runs and set counts therefore rest on checklistcenter, sportscardchecklist, breakninja and tcdb.
- G-010 Whether non-autographed rookie base cards exist in retail configurations is not documented by any consulted source; in all consulted checklists the #101-145 rookies appear only as autographed Rookie Season Tickets.
- G-011 Season Ticket Photo Variation is recorded in parallels.csv but is a 40-card short-printed variation subset of the 100-card base set, not a full 1:1 parallel; it is unnumbered and its pack odds are not documented.
- G-012 COVERAGE GAP (2026-08-17): base_cards covers only the unsigned Season Ticket portion (#1-100). The printed numbering continues to ~#165 via autographed Rookie Tickets, recorded as auto sets in sets.csv but with NO card-level rows here. Other Contenders releases DO capture those rows (card_type=rookie-auto) - coverage is uneven across seasons.
- G-013 Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation: 33 of 40 cards written, 7 withheld. tcdb files this set as the 'c' rows of the continuous #101-165 run under parent sid 262173 (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/262173/2020-21-Panini-Contenders). Checklist.cfm page 2 of that parent truncates at row 181 of 200 (last row rendered: 116b) on every slug variant tried, so the 'c' tokens for the block that follows are not transcribable. Gallery.cfm?PageIndex=19 and =20 on the same parent (rows 181-200) ARE index-aligned and prove three rows exist for each of #116, #117, #118, #119, #120, #121 and #123 - but Gallery.cfm strips the letter suffix, rendering '116b' and '116c' both as '#116', so it can confirm the rows EXIST while being unable to supply the token. Writing '116c'..'123c' would be derivation from the block pattern, not transcription, so the seven rows are withheld. Withheld players: Desmond Bane (#116), Killian Hayes (#117), Theo Maledon (#118), Devin Vassell (#119), Tre Jones (#120), Isaiah Stewart (#121), Tyrese Maxey (#123). 33 written + 7 withheld = 40 = sets.csv card_count, so the set is fully accounted for.
- G-014 tcdb's parent checklist for this release (sid 262173) is internally inconsistent and its header is stale in both directions. The header states 'Total Cards: 160' while the page renders about 276 rows across three 100-row pages: base Season Ticket #1-100, 40 veteran 'b' photo-variation rows, the rookie autograph run #101-165 (#102 not issued), 43 rookie 'b' rows and 40 rookie 'c' rows. Separately the parent checklist OMITS four cards outright - #112 Jahmi'us Ramsey, #122 Kenyon Martin Jr., #132 Cassius Stanley and #142 Cassius Winston - all four of which its own Rookie Season Ticket Premium Edition parallel page (sid 271008, https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/271008/2020-21-Panini-Contenders---Rookie-Season-Ticket-Premium-Edition) does list. Those four rows were recovered from the parallel; #142 only from that set's Gallery (page 9), because every Checklist.cfm rendering of sid 271008 truncated before it. #142's team is therefore unrecorded. This resolves the unreconciled 'Total Cards: 160' noted in G-001 and the coverage gap noted in G-012: the printed rookie run is #101-165, 64 cards, which equals sets.csv's Rookie Season Ticket (44, #101-145) plus Rookie Season Ticket Stickers (20, #146-165).
- G-015 Card-count disagreement in G-006 partially resolved. tcdb's BASE pages for Contenders Autographs (sid 270970) and Legendary Contenders Autographs (sid 270983) each render 39 rows and each state 'Total Cards: 39', siding with sportscardchecklist against checklistcenter's 40. Their PARALLEL pages side with sets.csv instead: Contenders Autographs Bronze and Gold (sids 270971 / 270972) each render 40 and supply CA-DMI Donovan Mitchell; Legendary Contenders Autographs Gold (sid 270985) renders 40 and supplies LC-DRM Dennis Rodman, while Bronze (270984) renders only 39. Per spec rule 1c-ter the discriminator is whether sets.csv sides with the base page or the parallels - it says 40 for both - so both missing cards were recovered from the parallel pages and written, and each is flagged in its own notes column. Teams are not shown on the parallel pages and were left empty rather than guessed. Rookie Ticket Swatches Autographs' G-006 disagreement is resolved the other way: tcdb renders 39, matching sets.csv.
- G-016 Set-name divergences between our sets.csv names and tcdb's, recorded rather than acted on: 'Superstar Die-Cuts' is 'Superstar Die Cuts' (unhyphenated) on tcdb sid 271059. tcdb has NO page at all for Rookie Season Ticket, Rookie Season Ticket Stickers, Rookie Variation Season Ticket or Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation - all four are filed inside parent sid 262173 as one continuous number run, and Inserts.cfm lists none of them. The split of that run into our four sets.csv sets is an ATTRIBUTION, not a transcription: card numbers and players are verbatim from tcdb, but the assignment rests on (a) sets.csv's own stated scope of #101-145 / 44 cards for Rookie Season Ticket, (b) the exact row counts - the plain rows enumerate to 44, the 'b' rows to 43 and the 'c' rows to 40, matching sets.csv's 44 / 43 / 40 with no slack, (c) sportscardchecklist.com's '2020-21 Panini Contenders Rookie Season Ticket Stickers Premium Edition' page listing exactly the 20 players at #146-165 (https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-216866/2020-21-panini-contenders-rookie-season-ticket-stickers-premium-edition-basketball-trading-card-checklist), and (d) a goldin.co lot naming the 'b' product 'Rookie Ticket Autograph Variation'. G-008's 'possible duplication' question is answered: the two variation sets are distinct - the 'b' rows (tcdb flags AU, VAR) are Rookie Variation Season Ticket at 43 and the 'c' rows (tcdb flags VAR only) are Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation at 40.
- G-017 Source calibration for this release. PASSED: tcdb.com Checklist.cfm prints the real letter codes on every coded set here (CA-, LC-, RS-, RD-, MC-, SC-, VS-) and real numerals on the ticket run. PASSED as marketplace evidence: a goldin.co /item/ lot title, '2020-21 Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket Autograph Variation #123 Tyrese Maxey Signed Rookie' (https://goldin.co/item/2020-21-panini-contenders-variation-rookie-ticket-autograph-123-tyreseakjf7), confirms the numerals on the rookie autograph family are printed on the card and not display ordinals - note the seller writes '#123' with no letter, so the b/c suffix is tcdb's own disambiguator for the variation rows and is what is recorded here. FAILED for card_number: sportscardchecklist.com renumbers coded sets 1..N - its Contenders Autographs Bronze page (https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-216803/2020-21-panini-contenders-contenders-autographs-bronze-basketball-trading-card-checklist) renders 1..40 where tcdb and eBay seller titles show CA-ACR..CA-ZCO. It was therefore used for ROSTER and set-attribution only, never for a number, except on the plainly-numbered #146-165 sticker block where it independently reproduced the same numerals. STILL BLOCKED, confirming G-009: beckett.com/news returns HTTP 403; cardboardconnection.com remains unusable. eBay /p/ product pages for this release carry tcdb's flag strings verbatim ('#134 (AU, RC)') and were treated as catalogue data, not as listings.
- G-018 Two uncatalogued base parallels found on tcdb while enumerating this release's sid block: 'Clear Ticket' (sid 270999, https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/270999/2020-21-Panini-Contenders---Clear-Ticket) and 'Stub Ticket' (sid 271024), both filed by tcdb's Inserts.cfm under this product's parent alongside the Playoff / First Round / Semifinal / Conference Finals / The Finals / Cracked Ice / Championship / Game Ticket family that parallels.csv already carries. Neither appears in parallels.csv. Not written - parallels.csv is outside this task's write scope - but recorded so a later parallel pass can check them. tcdb also lists a full Veteran Season Ticket ladder (Veteran Championship / Clear / Cracked Ice / Playoff / Stub / The Finals Ticket, four Veteran Season Ticket printing plates and seven Premium Edition tiers, sids 271062-271079) matching the ladder already described in that set's sets.csv notes.
- G-019 tcdb sid regime for this release, recorded so a later pass need not re-derive it: ONE contiguous block, 270949-271079, plus the parent checklist far away at 262173. The block boundaries were confirmed by probing outward - sid 270948 is '2011 Panini Black Friday - Rookies Autographs' and sid 271080 is '2016 Topps Tony Gwynn Museum', both foreign products. Inserts.cfm on the parent listed 94 sids, all inside that block and all confirmed against their own page headings; the numeric gaps it left (270997, 270998, 271000, 271001, 271005-271007, 271015-271023, 271025-271027, 271034-271051) were spot-probed with ViewSet.cfm and every probe redirected to the tcdb homepage, i.e. the sid exists but renders no cards, so Inserts.cfm appears COMPLETE on this release - unusual, and not a property to inherit. Probes were validated against a known-live sid (271031) using the identical ViewSet.cfm/sid/<N>/x slug shape, which returned the correct set name and count.
