  • G-001 Base set boundary is brand-specific and required a judgement call. The product numbers 1-165 continuously: #1-100 un-autographed Season Ticket veterans, #101-145 hobby Rookie Ticket Autographs, #146-165 retail Rookie Ticket Autographs. TCDB catalogues the hobby checklist as 145 cards. base_set_size is recorded as 100 (veterans only) because the rookie tickets are autograph cards and are recorded in sets.csv; a consumer of this data expecting a 145- or 165-card base set will disagree.
  • G-002 No source consulted (checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, TCDB) prints explicit RC designations on the #1-100 Season Ticket checklist. All 100 rookie_flag values set to UNKNOWN. (Note: the 2022 draft class appears only at #101+ as autographs, so #1-100 are believed to contain no rookies, but this is not explicitly stated by any source.)
  • G-003 cardboardconnection.com - the primary source named in the spec - is blocked by robots.txt for automated fetching (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2022-23-panini-contenders-basketball-nba-cards). beckett.com/news returned HTTP 403 and checklistinsider.com has no 2022-23 Contenders page (404). Base size, parallels and set counts were therefore cross-checked using checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, tcdb.com, the Panini America sell sheet PDF and retailer product pages instead.
  • G-004 Season Ticket Stub has a VARIABLE print run: sources print 'Stub #/50 or Less' and TCDB shows per-card serials of SN1, SN7, SN27, SN36 etc. print_run recorded as 50 (the documented maximum), which overstates scarcity for most cards in the set.
  • G-005 Channel for Play-In Ticket is undocumented by every source consulted; recorded as UNKNOWN. [REVIEWED 2026-08-17: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-17: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 1 of 19 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: count is now 56 of 74 - the channel pass resolved -55 of these with cited evidence. • G-006 Retail sub-channel for Game Ticket Bronze, Game Ticket Green and Game Ticket Green Ice is not documented. Only Game Ticket Red / Blue (blaster, dacardworld.com) and Game Ticket Purple (jumbo cello fat pack, Amazon listing) have an explicit sub-channel. The three are recorded as generic 'retail', single-source. • G-007 Channel 'hobby' for the numbered ticket ladder (Playoff, First Round, Semifinal, Conference Finals, The Finals, Cracked Ice, Game 7, Championship, Season Ticket Stub, Season Ticket Premium Edition) is inferred from (a) the Panini hobby sell sheet naming Veteran Playoff / The Finals / Championship / Cracked Ice Tickets and (b) TCDB carrying separate '<name> Retail' sets that only cover #146-165. No source states outright that these parallels are absent from retail packs. • G-008 Print runs for Season Ticket Premium Edition, Play-In Ticket, Season Ticket Retail and Game Ticket Bronze/Green/Green Ice/Red are recorded as 'unnumbered' on the basis that TCDB shows no SN notation for them; no source explicitly states they are unnumbered.
  • G-009 Veteran Season Ticket autograph card count disputed three ways: checklistcenter.com says 10 (plus a separate 2-card 'Veteran Ticket Auto Playoff' set), cardsmithsbreaks.com says 9, TCDB catalogues 8. Recorded as UNKNOWN.
  • G-010 Possible double count: 'Rookie Ticket Autographs Variation (Horizontal)' (45 cards, per checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com) and 'Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation' (40 cards, #101-140, per TCDB and both checklist sites) may be the same set counted twice. Both are described as horizontal photo variations of the rookie ticket autographs.
  • G-011 Card counts for Legendary Contenders Autographs (40), MVP Contenders Autographs (9), Sophomore Contenders Autographs (10), Rookie Dual Ticket Swatches (10), Season Ticket Photo Variation (40) and all insert sets were not independently verified against TCDB; they rest on checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com only.
  • G-012 Card-level checklists for insert and autograph sets are out of scope and were not captured.
  • G-013 No stated pack odds were located for any parallel or insert in this release; the Panini sell sheet gives only box averages (2 autographs, 10 inserts/parallels/variations per hobby box).
  • G-014 COVERAGE GAP (2026-08-17): base_cards covers only the unsigned Season Ticket portion (#1-100). The printed numbering continues to ~#165 via autographed Rookie Tickets, recorded as auto sets in sets.csv but with NO card-level rows here. Other Contenders releases DO capture those rows (card_type=rookie-auto) - coverage is uneven across seasons.
  • G-015 Season Ticket Photo Variation: 34 of 40 card numbers written; 6 withheld. The set has no tcdb subset page - it is the 'b'-suffixed variation run filed inside the parent base checklist (sid 351281, https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/351281/2022-23-Panini-Contenders), whose page 1 truncated at row 80 of 100 across eight distinct valid slug variants, so rows 81-100 (cards 54-67) never rendered on Checklist.cfm. Gallery.cfm pages 9 and 10 prove the six missing rows EXIST and index-align exactly against checklist row 80 (53b), but Gallery.cfm and ViewCard.cfm both STRIP the letter suffix and render them as plain '#56' etc., so the printed token could not be sourced and was not derived. Withheld players, all confirmed present as photo variations on https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/351281/2022-23-Panini-Contenders?PageIndex=9 and ?PageIndex=10 : #56 De'Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings), #57 Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), #62 Chris Paul (Phoenix Suns), #64 Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), #66 Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks), #67 Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns). Count is settled independently: sets.csv says 40 and the parent renders exactly 40 'b' rows inside 1-100, of which 34 were read.
  • G-016 Rookie Ticket Autographs Variation (Horizontal): 36 of 45 card numbers written; 9 withheld. Same cause as G-015 - the set is the 'b'-suffixed run over cards 101-145 inside the parent checklist sid 351281, and page 2 of that checklist truncated at row 83 of 100 across twelve distinct valid slug variants (measured at 73, 77, 77, 79, 79, 80, 81, 82 and 83 rows - truncation is stochastic, and re-slugging did recover rows 80-83, i.e. 120b, 121, 121b and 122). Rows 84-100 never rendered. Gallery.cfm pages 19 and 20 confirm every one of the nine missing variation rows exists but strip the suffix. Withheld tokens are the variation rows for #122 Ousmane Dieng (Oklahoma City Thunder), #123 Jeremy Sochan (San Antonio Spurs), #124 E.J. Liddell (New Orleans Pelicans), #125 Malaki Branham (San Antonio Spurs), #126 Isaiah Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), #127 Kennedy Chandler (Memphis Grizzlies), #128 TyTy Washington Jr. (Houston Rockets), #129 AJ Griffin (Atlanta Hawks), #130 Johnny Davis (Washington Wizards). Count settled independently: sets.csv says 45 and the parent renders exactly 45 'b' rows over 101-145.
  • G-017 Veteran Season Ticket: 7 card numbers written, 8 rows catalogued by tcdb at https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/361932/2022-23-Panini-Contenders-Veteran-Season-Ticket . The eighth row stores the literal string 'TBD' in the card-number column (player Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies, flagged AU and EXCH); 'TBD' is not a card number and the row is withheld rather than guessed. sets.csv card_count remains UNKNOWN (see G-009); tcdb's own count of 8 supports neither the checklistcenter.com figure of 10 nor cardsmithsbreaks.com's 9. The set's prefix this season is 'VT-', re-derived from the page itself and not inherited from a sibling season; its codes are built from the player's first initial plus a team abbreviation (VT-AMT = Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves), not from player initials.
  • G-018 G-010 (possible double count of 'Rookie Ticket Autographs Variation (Horizontal)', 45 cards, against 'Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation', 40 cards) is now evidenced but not closed. tcdb holds them as two DISTINCT records, not one set listed twice: the parent checklist's variation rows are cid 21334477 upward (e.g. 2b Anthony Edwards = cid 21334477, 62b Chris Paul = cid 21334506) while sid 362270 'Rookie Season Ticket Photo Variation' holds cid 21343350 upward (101 Jaden Ivey = cid 21343350). The two also differ in extent and in flags: the parent run covers 101b-145b (45 rows, each flagged AU and VAR) while sid 362270 covers 101-140 (40 rows, no letter suffix, no AU flag). Both counts match their sets.csv rows exactly, so both were filled. Whether the two catalogue entries describe the SAME physical card remains unresolved - tcdb's own gallery captions describe both as 'Horizontal; photo variation, "V" on back'. See https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/362270/2022-23-Panini-Contenders-Rookie-Season-Ticket-Photo-Variation .
  • G-019 Structural note for future passes: four sets.csv sets have NO tcdb subset page of their own and are numbered inside one continuous run filed under the parent sid 351281 - Rookie Ticket Autographs (#101-145), Rookie Ticket Autographs Variation (Horizontal) (101b-145b), Season Ticket Photo Variation (the 'b' rows inside 1-100) and, separately, Rookie Ticket Autographs Retail (#146-165, filed as cards 101-120 of tcdb's 120-card 'Season Ticket Retail' checklist, sid 361869). None of these four appears in Inserts.cfm. The parent's header reads 'Total Cards: 145' and is STALE: the page actually renders 230 rows = 100 base + 40 veteran 'b' + 45 rookie 101-145 + 45 rookie 'b', and page 3 begins at overall row 201 exactly as that arithmetic predicts. https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/351281/2022-23-Panini-Contenders
  • G-020 Contradiction with existing data, recorded not resolved: sets.csv's Veteran Season Ticket note gives the Premium Edition ladder as '(base, Green Shimmer, Gold #/10, Gold Vinyl 1/1)', but tcdb additionally catalogues 'Veteran Season Ticket Premium Edition Blue Shimmer FOTL' (sid 361934) and 'Veteran Season Ticket Premium Edition Red Shimmer FOTL' (sid 361938). Two documented veteran parallels are therefore missing from that note. Parallels are out of scope for insert_cards.csv and sets.csv must not be edited, so this is logged only. • G-021 Source calibration for this release, recorded so a later pass does not repeat the work. tcdb Checklist.cfm was the sole card-number source and was corroborated where possible. eBay was tested and FAILED as an independent corroborator on this line: search snippets showed genuine free-text seller titles ('Chet Holmgren 2022-23 Contenders Rookie Ticket Auto Variation #137 CGC 9 Mint'), but fetching the /itm/ pages themselves returned tcdb-seeded catalogue titles carrying tcdb's flag strings verbatim - https://www.ebay.com/itm/296720688358 reads '2022-23 Panini Contenders - Rookie Ticket Autograph Variation Chet Holmgren #137 (AU, RC)' and https://www.ebay.com/itm/395119410550 reads '... Rookie Ticket Dual Swatches Chet Holmgren, Ousmane Dieng #RT2-OKC (MEM, RC)'. Both were discarded as circular. The one usable marketplace item was a goldin.co lot with a genuine seller-written title, '2022-23 Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket Autograph Cracked Ice #112 Paolo Banchero Signed Rookie Card (#13/25) - PSA MINT 9, PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 - Pop 3' at https://goldin.co/item/2022-23-panini-contenders-cracked-ice-112-paolo-banchero-signed-rookielg59v , which confirms that the #101-145 Rookie Ticket Autograph numbers are printed on the cards and are not display indices. The letter-coded sets (CA-, LC-, MVP-, SC-, VT-, RTS-, RT2-) have no independent non-tcdb confirmation on this release.
