  • G-001 Noir addendum classification, recorded because the addendum asks for it explicitly. 2018-19 Panini Noir is CASE (b), a partitioned base numbering, and NOT case (c), the true dual-version set. Evidence that decides it: the two base versions carry DIFFERENT card numbers for the same player, so no number exists twice. tcdb's parent checklist renders card 1 Kemba Walker and card 71 Kemba Walker, card 66 Tobias Harris and card 136 Tobias Harris, card 70 Anthony Davis and card 140 Anthony Davis, card 141 Jaren Jackson Jr. and card 171 Jaren Jackson Jr., card 145 Mikal Bridges and card 175 Mikal Bridges. checklistcenter.com attaches the names to the ranges independently: under 2018-19 Panini Noir - Base Set its Association Edition runs 1 Kemba Walker to 70 Anthony Davis and its Icon Edition 71 Kemba Walker to 140 Anthony Davis; under Base Rookies Set its Association Edition runs 141 Jaren Jackson Jr. to 170 Rodions Kurucs and its Icon Edition 171 Jaren Jackson Jr. to 200 Rodions Kurucs. A full contiguous enumeration of 1-200 found every number issued exactly once. The four ranges therefore tile 1-200 with no gap and no overlap and base_card_tiers.csv can express the structure honestly. • G-002 tcdb's Platinum base parallel, sid 205810, states Total Cards 220 in its header while its own Gallery renders exactly 200 tiles: page 20 is cards 191-200 and pages 21 and 22 render no tiles at all. Its two sibling base parallels, Holo Silver sid 205809 and Holo Gold sid 205808, both state 200. The row was written as a base-set parallel of the 200-card run and the extra 20 in the header was not resolved; per the spec a header disagreeing with rendered rows is a question about the unit, not proof of staleness, and this one was not answered. • G-003 Auto Noir card-count disagreement. tcdb gives Auto Noir Black And White (sid 205800) Total Cards 28 with 28 rendered rows and Auto Noir Color (sid 205802) Total Cards 28 with 28 rendered rows, and their Platinum parallel pages (205801, 205803) independently state 28 each, so four tcdb pages say 56 in total. checklistcenter.com states a single combined heading, 2018-19 Panini Noir - Auto Noir Set / 48 Cards - Serial Numbered #/99. cardboardconnection.com states Autograph Noir Set Checklist 48 cards. 28 was written for each half on the strength of tcdb's card-level rows; the 48 was not reconciled and both aggregators may be one opinion. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/205800/2018-19-Panini-Noir-Auto-Noir-Black-And-White ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/205802/2018-19-Panini-Noir-Auto-Noir-Color ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/ ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball-cards
  • G-004 Autographed Prime card counts were taken from the parallel pages, not the base pages. tcdb's Autographed Prime Black and White (sid 205804) and Autographed Prime Color (sid 205806) each state and render 16, while their own Tags parallel pages (sid 205805 and 205807) each state 17. checklistcenter.com, which never fetched tcdb, states Auto Prime Relics Set / 34 Cards, and 17 + 17 = 34 while 16 + 16 = 32, so the independent third party sides with the parallel pages and the base pages are short by one card each. 17 was written for both. The identity of the 17th card in each set was not established and no row was invented for it. • G-005 Metal Frame print run is contested and no figure was written into a structured field. checklistcenter.com states 2018-19 Panini Noir - Metal Frame Set / 100 Cards - Serial Numbered #/25, cardboardconnection.com states Metal Frame Set Checklist ... 100 cards. Serial numbered #/25, and tcdb renders the token SN25 on the 201-300 rows. But cardboardconnection.com's own box breakdown on the same page reads: Each 1st Off the Line box is slated to have: 7 Autographs or Relics and 1 Metal Frame Card (#/9). #/25 and #/9 cannot both be the print run of the same 100 cards, the word slated marks the second as a pre-release solicitation, and nothing consulted resolves whether a separate /9 Metal Frame tier exists. No /9 row was written. Sources: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/ ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/205811/2018-19-Panini-Noir-Metal-Frame
  • G-006 Metal Frame structure and naming, with a divergence from the sibling season. tcdb files Metal Frame (sid 205811, Total Cards 100, cards 201-300, set note 1st Off the Line box exclusive) under its Parallel Sets heading, but the block sits entirely PAST base_set_size, so it can be neither a base-set parallel nor a block parallel of a tiered base run, whose ranges must tile 1-200. It was therefore NOT written into parallels.csv at all; its five named sub-sections were written as set_type=insert rows and the Metal Frame family, the #/25 and the 1st Off the Line exclusivity are carried in their notes, because sets.csv has no print_run and no channel column. Naming diverges from noir-bkb-2019-20 in two ways that were left as the 2018-19 sources print them: this season's sources name the second sub-section Rookie Statement Edition where 2019-20 has Rookies Statement Edition, and 2019-20 carries a separate FOTL parallel row per sub-section while the 2018-19 evidence says the Metal Frame block itself is the 1st Off the Line item, so no FOTL parallel row was written. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/202354/2018-19-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/205811/2018-19-Panini-Noir-Metal-Frame ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/
  • G-007 Six set-scope parallel tiers are PROVABLY serial numbered with a PER-CARD VARIABLE run, a state this schema cannot express, so all six carry print_run=UNKNOWN and serial_numbered=UNKNOWN and the real tokens are quoted in visual_notes. UNKNOWN here does NOT mean unnumbered. The six, with the distinct tokens observed on their own tcdb pages: Box Office Memorabilia Prime (sid 205813) -- SN25 on most rows plus SN24, SN23, SN22, SN21, SN14, SN12, SN6 and SN4; Icons Memorabilia Prime (205822) -- SN10 on nine rows and SN25 on ten; Jumbo Material Prime (205826) -- SN10 on most rows plus SN9, SN8, SN7 and SN4; New Wave Jerseys Prime (205828) -- SN25 on most rows and SN22 on two named rows; Rookie Jumbo Material Prime (205837) -- SN8 beside SN10; Two-Shot Rookie Jerseys Prime (205846) -- SN25 on fifteen rows and SN10 on two. This is the same modelling gap recorded as CAV-023 and in the extraction spec. It was only found because every tier was swept for its DISTINCT token set rather than sampled: a three-row sample would have written 25 for Box Office Prime, 25 for New Wave Prime and 25 for Two-Shot Prime, all three false. • G-008 Channel is UNKNOWN with an empty channel_basis on all 30 parallel rows and UNKNOWN on all four base tiers. No source consulted -- tcdb, cardboardconnection.com, checklistcenter.com, aboutthecards.wordpress.com, dacardworld.com, steelcitycollectibles.com -- states a trade channel, box SKU or region for any individual tier. The product is sold only as a hobby box (dacardworld.com and steelcitycollectibles.com both list 2018-19 Panini Noir Basketball Hobby Box and nothing else), but that places the PRODUCT, not any tier, so it was not promoted to sourced-presence. DIVERGENCE: noir-bkb-2019-20 writes channel=hobby with channel_basis=unsupported on its three base parallels and channel=hobby on all four of its base tiers, on the same evidence shape. Same question, opposite value, and nothing on either row tells a reader which convention it is under. This is a visible regression against the six sibling Noir seasons and is recorded rather than smoothed over. Sources: https://www.dacardworld.com/sports-cards/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball-hobby-box ; https://www.steelcitycollectibles.com/i/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball-hobby-box
  • G-009 Tier naming for the two rookie ranges. The only fetched source that attaches names to card ranges, checklistcenter.com, renders them as Association Edition and Icon Edition sub-headings under a separate heading, 2018-19 Panini Noir - Base Rookies Set, rather than as the single strings Rookies Association Edition and Rookies Icon Edition that were written. aboutthecards.wordpress.com renders a third form, Association Edition - Rookies and Icon Edition - Rookies. The written forms were chosen because tier names must be distinct within a release and because all six sibling Noir seasons in this catalogue use exactly those strings, so a resolver joining the line across seasons keeps working. comc.com card pages do render the composite form directly for this season, for example a page titled 2018-19 Panini Noir - Base #188 - Rookies Icon Edition - Josh Okogie /85, but comc card pages return 403 through this environment's egress proxy so that page could not be fetched and is NOT cited as evidence anywhere in this release. Sources: https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/ ; https://aboutthecards.wordpress.com/2019/06/10/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/
  • G-010 rookie_flag basis. tcdb renders the literal token RC on every row of cards 141-200 and on no row of cards 1-140, and that split was observed on two differently-parameterised endpoints -- Checklist.cfm page 2 and Gallery.cfm pages 18, 19 and 20 -- and is corroborated structurally by checklistcenter.com and cardboardconnection.com, which file 141-200 under a separate Base Rookies Set heading. Because the token is present on some rows and absent on others within the same renderings, the absence is a positive discriminative signal rather than a silent drop, so rookie_flag=no was written for 1-140 rather than UNKNOWN. A reader who disagrees with that reading should treat the 140 no values as unresolved. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/202354/2018-19-Panini-Noir?PageIndex=2 ; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/202354/2018-19-Panini-Noir?PageIndex=18
  • G-011 No claim is made about whether this release has a variation set. tcdb's Errors.cfm on the parent returned the sentence No errors or variations have been added for this set yet, and per CAV-020 that sentence is returned identically on sets that provably do have errata, so it discriminates nothing and is recorded here as no evidence in either direction. What DOES survive is the base run itself: cards 1-200 were enumerated contiguously and every number was rendered exactly once, with no suffixed row and no non-integer card number seen, across tcdb Checklist pages 1 and 2, Gallery pages 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 18, 19 and 20, and a second full rendering of the same numbering on the Holo Silver parallel sid 205809. Source: https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/202354/2018-19-Panini-Noir
  • G-012 tcdb sid layout for this release, recorded so a later pass need not re-derive it. The parent is sid 202354, Total Cards 400. Its subsets occupy ONE contiguous block, 205799 to 205847 inclusive, 49 sids with no numeric gap: 47 entries under the Insert Sets heading and 4 under Parallel Sets (Holo Gold 205808, Holo Silver 205809, Platinum 205810, Metal Frame 205811), which is 51 entries less the two Rookie Patch Autographs Tags sids that sit far away at 238482 and 238483. BOTH boundaries were proved foreign: sid 205798 renders 2011 Regimental Colours : The Royal Welch Fusiliers 2nd Series and sid 205848 renders 2003 Future Bee Angel Eye Harumi Nemoto. Because the block has no interior gaps there was nothing to probe inside it, and because Inserts.cfm delivered all 51 entries in one response with no truncation, no sid hunting was needed. tcdb catalogues no sid at all for Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White, Rookie Patch Autographs Color or Rookie Autographs; those three live inside the parent checklist at 301-340, 341-380 and 381-400. Source: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/202354/2018-19-Panini-Noir
  • G-013 Sneaker Spotlight is autograph-only in 2018-19, which differs from the sibling season. tcdb's sid 205842 is titled simply Sneaker Spotlight but carries the AU flag and the SNS- prefix on its rows, and both cardboardconnection.com and checklistcenter.com name it as an autograph set of 38 cards. No source consulted lists a separate non-autographed Sneaker Spotlight insert for 2018-19, whereas noir-bkb-2019-20 carries BOTH a 10-card Sneaker Spotlight insert and a 38-card Sneaker Spotlight Autographs set. The absence rests on absence from three catalogues, not on a positive statement. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/205842/2018-19-Panini-Noir-Sneaker-Spotlight ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/
  • G-014 Single-source card counts. The five Metal Frame sub-ranges -- Statement Edition 201-230 (30), Rookie Statement Edition 231-250 (20), Feature Length 251-270 (20), Split Screen 271-290 (20), Vintage Art 291-300 (10) -- rest on checklistcenter.com alone for the SPLIT. Only the block total of 100 is corroborated, by cardboardconnection.com and by tcdb sid 205811. tcdb catalogues no sid for any of the five individually, so no card-level check of the boundaries was possible. Source: https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/
  • G-015 Base print run recorded so a reader does not read it as a typo. 2018-19 Noir base cards are #/85, whereas all six other Noir seasons already in this catalogue (2019-20 through 2024-25) carry base_print_run 99. The 85 is stated in words by three independent sources -- cardboardconnection.com 140 cards. Serial numbered #/85., checklistcenter.com 140 Cards - Serial Numbered #/85, aboutthecards.wordpress.com Serial numbered /85 -- tcdb renders the literal token SN85 on every one of the 200 base rows, and a free-text eBay seller title independently reads 2018-19 Panini Noir 83 John Collins I 38/85 Icon Edition, in which 83 is John Collins in this checklist and 38/85 is a serial number off the card in hand. The sibling season's 99 was deliberately not inherited. • G-016 No stated numeric pack odds were found for any set or parallel in this release, consistent with CAV-015 recording that Panini publishes no odds for basketball. Every stated_odds, odds_evidence_url and odds_evidence_quote field is therefore empty, and that is evidenced absence of a published figure rather than unfinished research. Separately, several sets are described by checklistcenter.com with a CEILING rather than a print run -- Showtime Signatures #/99 or Less, and Reigning Nights Signatures, Shadow Signatures, Sneaker Spotlight Auto, Spotlight Signatures, Icons Memorabilia, Jumbo Materials and Auto Prime Relics all #/99 or as Noted or #/40 or as Noted. A ceiling is not a print run, sets.csv cannot hold a print run in any case, and no ceiling was written as a value anywhere. Source: https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-noir-basketball/
  • G-017 Release date is 2019-06-12 and, unlike the three-way dispute recorded for noir-bkb-2019-20, nothing contradicted it. cardboardconnection.com prints Release Date: June 12, 2019; dacardworld.com prints Release Date: June 12th, 2019; steelcitycollectibles.com prints Release Date: 6/12/19; tcdb's own parent page prints Release Date: June 12, 2019. No source labelled its date an estimate and no solicited-then-slipped date was found. beckett.com could not be consulted at all: every request to its news article 302-redirects to maintenance.beckett.com, so the usual independent structural check on the date and on the set inventory is missing for this release.
