• G-001 Release date disagreement: dacardworld.com, waxstat.com, and steelcitycollectibles.com independently state 2020-05-27 (adopted); an earlier beckett.com preview / waxstat first snapshot cited 2020-03-18 as the originally solicited date; gogts.net cited 2020-02-10. COVID-19 production disruption in spring 2020 plausibly explains a slip from a March solicitation to a May street date, but no source explicitly states a delay reason.
• G-002 tcdb.com's product page (sid 225915) states 'Total Cards: 400' for 2019-20 Panini Noir, which does not equal base_set_size (200) plus the confirmed Metal Frame family (100) = 300. The source of the remaining ~100 cards in tcdb's aggregate count was not identified.
• G-003 Sneaker Spotlight (non-autographed) card count disagreement: tcdb.com's own checklist page lists exactly 10 named cards (LeBron James through Derrick Rose) with 'Total Cards: 10'; checklistcenter.com's page separately shows a '30 Cards' heading under 'Speaker Spotlight' (likely a typo for Sneaker Spotlight). Resolved to 10 using tcdb's card-level evidence per spec; checklistcenter's 30 was rejected.
• G-004 The following insert/autograph/memorabilia set card counts rely on a single source (checklistcenter.com) with no independent card-level checklist found to cross-verify: Auto Noir Black and White, Auto Noir Color (base count only, its Platinum parallel is cross-verified), Autographed Prime Black and White, Autographed Prime Color, Freeze Frame Signatures, In Focus Signatures, Reigning Nights Signatures, Showtime Signatures, Spotlight Signature Horizontal, Spotlight Signature Vertical, Box Office Memorabilia, Dish Night Memorabilia, Elegant Decor Rookie Jerseys, Icons Memorabilia, Jumbo Material, New Wave Jerseys, Newsreels Jerseys, Two-Shot Rookie Jersey, and the 5 Metal Frame family ranges (Statement Edition, Rookies Statement Edition, Feature Length, Split Screen, Vintage Art).
• G-005 Rookie Patch Autographs (Color and Black and White) and Rookie Autographs are confirmed to exist (via ebay listings and Panini blog PIS PDFs) but no source was found publishing a card-level checklist or total count for any of the three, so card_count is recorded UNKNOWN and no ssp_cards.csv rows were attempted for them despite being plausible chase sets.
• G-006 No stated numeric pull odds were found for this release (consistent with Panini not publishing basketball odds sheets), and no source was found describing any specific 2019-20 Noir set or parallel as a 'case hit' or 'SSP' in explicit terms. The three scarcity-pass files are therefore empty (headers only).
• G-007 No single source enumerates which of the 4 base tiers (Association Edition, Icon Edition, Rookies Association Edition, Rookies Icon Edition) each of Holo Silver/Holo Gold/Platinum applies to. Evidence found spans Association Edition (Holo Silver) and Icon Edition (Holo Gold, Platinum) tiers; applicability to the two Rookies tiers is inferred, not directly confirmed by a source.
• G-008 Freeze Frame Signatures is recorded in sets.csv as 40 cards; only 39 card numbers could be sourced and written. tcdb's base page (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/233466/2019-20-Panini-Noir-Freeze-Frame-Signatures) states Total Cards 39 and renders 39 rows, and its own Holo Gold parallel (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/233467/2019-20-Panini-Noir-Freeze-Frame-Signatures-Holo-Gold) states 39 and lists the identical 39 players, so the parallel-page recovery test also failed. checklistcenter.com's player list for the set is numbered 1-40 but skips position 33, leaving 39 names that match tcdb's 39 exactly. The identity of the 40th Freeze Frame subject is therefore unknown to every source consulted; no row was invented for it.
• G-009 Genuine duplicate card codes written verbatim and flagged per spec (the DB is unique on set+number+player, not set+number): Freeze Frame Signatures FF-MCO is BOTH Michael Cooper (Los Angeles Lakers) and Mike Conley (Utah Jazz) -- confirmed on both the base page and the Holo Gold parallel page; Dish Night Memorabilia DN-DRS is BOTH D'Angelo Russell and Derrick Rose; Sneaker Spotlight Autographs SNS-RH is BOTH Richard Hamilton and Rui Hachimura. All are consistent with codes built from initials and are believed real.
• G-010 Two suspected tcdb data errors recorded verbatim rather than dropped, because nothing available settles which row is wrong. (1) Sneaker Spotlight Autographs: tcdb prints 'Tacko Fall' against BOTH SNS-TL and SNS-TR; this survived a narrow verbatim re-fetch via https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/233494/2019-20-Panini-Noir-Sneaker-Spotlight-Autographs?PageIndex=4 . One of the two is probably a different player. (2) Two-Shot Rookie Jersey: tcdb prints the pairing 'Cody Martin / PJ Washington Jr.' against BOTH TS-PC and TS-PT. Both sets still total exactly the card_count in sets.csv (38 and 20).
• G-011 RESOLVES G-005. The three sets recorded with card_count UNKNOWN now have card-level checklists in insert_cards.csv and their sizes are established by two independent sources: Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White = 40 cards, #301-340; Rookie Patch Autographs Color = 40 cards, #341-380; Rookie Autographs = 20 cards, #381-400. tcdb evidence is each set's own Tags parallel page (a parallel prints the same number as its base card): https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/233487/2019-20-Panini-Noir-Rookie-Patch-Autographs-Black-and-White-Tags (Total Cards 40, #301-340) and https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/233488/2019-20-Panini-Noir-Rookie-Patch-Autographs-Color-Tags (Total Cards 40, #341-380). checklistcenter.com independently states 'Rookie Patch Auto Black and White Set: 40 Cards', 'Rookie Patch Auto Color Set: 40 Cards', 'Rookie Auto Set: 20 Cards' (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2019-20-panini-noir-basketball-card-checklist/). sets.csv is not writable by this pass, so its UNKNOWN values stand.
• G-012 RESOLVES G-002. tcdb's 'Total Cards: 400' for sid 225915 is explained: tcdb files the entire release's numbered run in one base checklist -- #1-200 the four base tiers, #201-300 the Metal Frame family (Statement Edition 201-230, Rookies Statement Edition 231-250, Feature Length 251-270, Split Screen 271-290, Vintage Art 291-300), and #301-400 the rookie autograph block (Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White 301-340, Color 341-380, Rookie Autographs 381-400). 200+100+100 = 400. Verified via https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/225915/2019-20-Panini-Noir?PageIndex=21 , 31, 33, 34, 39 and 40.
• G-013 Sneaker Spotlight (the non-autographed 10-card insert) is the only set in this release written with bare ordinal card numbers (1-10). Placeholder testing was incomplete: tcdb catalogues no parallel of this set, so the parallel-page test could not be run, and the sort-position test passes trivially on a clean contiguous run (which the spec says is not clearance). No free-text 2019-20 seller title carrying a Sneaker Spotlight card number was found; the nearest corroboration that the Noir Sneaker Spotlight insert uses plain ordinals is a DIFFERENT SEASON's listing, https://www.ebay.com/itm/154533576192 ('LEBRON JAMES 2020-21 Panini Noir Sneaker Spotlight #d/99 SP Basketball Card #10'). The rows were written because this is a plain insert (its autographed sibling uses SNS- letter codes) and tcdb's row detail is card-level (LeBron appears twice, as a Cavalier at #1 and a Laker at #8), but the numbers are the weakest in this release. checklistcenter.com does not list this set at all -- it shows only a 30-card 'Speaker Spotlight' heading (see G-003).
• G-014 Set attribution for Rookie Autographs #381-400 is weaker than its card numbers. The numbers come from tcdb's base checklist and the 201-400 block's numbering is corroborated by free-text eBay seller titles (https://www.ebay.com/itm/236862476903 '...Metal Frame Statement Edition 9/25 Karl-Anthony Towns #216'; https://www.ebay.com/itm/224218349081 '...FOTL JOEL EMBIID 202 Statement Edition Gold Frame 1/11'). But NO free-text seller title naming 'Rookie Autographs' with a card number was found. The attribution rests on (a) #301-380 being fully accounted for by the two Rookie Patch Autographs Tags parallel pages, leaving #381-400, (b) checklistcenter.com stating a 20-card 'Rookie Auto Set', and (c) an eBay CATALOGUE page, https://www.ebay.com/p/18056575110 ('2019-20 Panini Noir - Rookie Autographs Kyle Guy #395 /99 (AU, RC)'), which matches tcdb's #395 Kyle Guy. Per spec an eBay /p/ page is not marketplace evidence; it is cited here only for the set name.
• G-015 Subsets tcdb catalogues for this release that have no sets.csv row and were therefore NOT written as cards. Colour/material tiers (parallels, out of scope for this pass): Auto Noir Black and White Platinum (sid 233448), Auto Noir Color Platinum (233450), Autographed Prime Black and White Tags (233452), Autographed Prime Color Tags (233454), Box Office Memorabilia Prime (233456) and Tags (233457), Critically Acclaimed Signatures Holo Gold (233459), Dish Night Memorabilia Prime (233461) and Tags (233462), Elegant Decor Rookie Jerseys Prime (233464) and Tags (233465), Freeze Frame Signatures Holo Gold (233467), Icons Memorabilia Prime (233469) and Tags (233470), In Focus Signatures Holo Gold (233472), Jumbo Material Brand Logo (233474) and Prime (233475), New Wave Jerseys Prime (233477) and Tags (233478), Newsreels Jerseys Prime (233480) and Tags (233481), Reigning Nights Signatures Holo Gold (233483), Rookie Jumbo Material Brand Logo (233485), Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White Tags (233487), Rookie Patch Autographs Color Tags (233488), Shadow Signatures Holo Gold (233490), Showtime Signatures Holo Gold (233492), Two-Shot Rookie Jerseys Prime (233498) and Tags (233499). SEPARATELY: tcdb catalogues 'Rookie Jumbo Material' as its OWN base set at sid 233484 alongside 'Rookie Jumbo Material Prime' at 233486, while sets.csv carries only one row, named 'Rookie Jumbo Material Prime' with card_count 40; the 40 rows written for it were taken from sid 233486, whose heading matches that name exactly. Whether our single row should be the base set or the Prime tier is a naming question for sets.csv, not resolvable here.
• G-016 tcdb sid layout for this release, recorded so a later pass need not re-derive it. The release is ONE contiguous premium-style block: sid 233442 exists but renders no cards (homepage redirect), 233443-233446 are the four base parallels (FOTL, Holo Gold, Holo Silver, Platinum), 233447-233499 are the 53 insert/parallel subsets in a single alphabetical run, and the base checklist is the product sid 225915. Boundaries confirmed by probing: 233441 and 233500 and 233501 all return 404. Inserts.cfm for sid 225915 emitted exactly this run with no numeric gaps to probe, and every sid this pass sourced from was confirmed against that page's own heading. No prior-season 'Update' subsets and no sibling-parent filing were found for this release.
