  • G-001 Release date disagreement: tcdb.com ('Release Date: Jun 8, 2022') and steelcitycollectibles.com ('Release Date: 6/8/22' on two separate hobby-box listings) independently agree on 2022-06-08 (adopted). cardlines.com states 'dropped on June 10th' (off by 2 days, single source). cardboardconnection.com states 'Available on May 31 at 12 PM (Eastern)', roughly a week earlier -- this may reflect an originally-solicited street date later pushed back (as happened with 2020-21 Noir, per that season's gap G-001), but no source explicitly states a delay reason for 2021-22.
  • G-002 tcdb.com's product page (sid 301869) states 'Total Cards: 400' for 2021-22 Panini Noir. This LARGELY RECONCILES with card-level evidence this season (see release.csv notes for full detail): tcdb's own paginated checklist for this same sid numbers continuously through Base(1-200) + Metal Frame family (201-300) + Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White (301-340) + Rookie Patch Autographs Color (341-380) -- directly verified by paging through tcdb's checklist and confirming the pagination widget shows only pages 1-4, ending at card 380. checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com independently agree that cards 381-400 are a 20-card 'Rookie Auto Set'/'Rookie Autographs' set (identical 20-name, identically-ordered rookie list on both sites), which closes the total to exactly 400. This is left as an open gap rather than fully closed because: (a) all fetches of tcdb.com and the two aggregator sites went through an AI-summarizing fetch tool rather than raw HTML, so a residual transcription-error risk remains despite the strong 3-way name/order agreement; (b) the same reconciliation was NOT re-attempted for the 2019-20 or 2020-21 Noir releases (whose own Rookie Patch Auto counts differ from this season's 40/40 split, e.g. 2020-21 was 40/39), so this finding should NOT be assumed to resolve those seasons' identical-looking gap without independent re-verification.
  • G-003 SLAM! Kicks (5 cards, part of the 100-card Metal Frame family) has a confirmed card COUNT (5, agreed by cardboardconnection.com and checklistcenter.com) but an UNCONFIRMED card NUMBER RANGE. The other 5 Metal Frame subsets (Statement Edition 201-230, Rookie Statement Edition 231-250, Feature Length 251-270, Split Screen 271-280, Vintage Art 281-295) sum to 95, implying SLAM! Kicks should occupy 296-300 to complete the family at 100 -- consistent with the Metal Frame family's own #/25 base print run region (201-300). However, one source (cardsmithsbreaks.com) gave inconsistent answers across two separate queries for card numbers 296-305 (once implying continuation from Vintage Art, once showing unrelated 'Newsreels Jerseys' content at those same numbers), which reads as an artifact of that site's own internal checklist ordering rather than reliable evidence, so it was NOT used for SLAM! Kicks' range. No source explicitly confirms SLAM! Kicks is numbered 296-300 rather than carrying its own separate numbering scheme.
  • G-004 2020-21 Noir Update (52 cards) and 2020-21 Spectra Update (6 cards): both are single-source (checklistcenter.com only) for existence, name, and count. These appear to be redemption-fulfillment carryovers from prior-season products inserted into 2021-22 Noir packs (a pattern also referenced more vaguely by cardboardconnection.com as 'Update Sets from prior seasons with vintage player autographs (52 and 6 cards respectively)', which corroborates the counts but not the specific set names or player list). No card-number range was found for either set.
  • G-005 No stated numeric pull odds (e.g. '1:X packs', 'X per case') were found for this release across cardboardconnection.com, checklistcenter.com, cardlines.com, steelcitycollectibles.com, or dacardworld.com. The only quantitative box-level statements found were box-average guarantees ('Look for 4 autographs, 3 memorabilia cards, and 3 base or parallels per box on average' -- dacardworld.com/steelcitycollectibles.com) and an FOTL-configuration-box guarantee ('1 bonus FOTL Gold Framed numbered to 11' -- steelcitycollectibles.com), neither of which is a published per-set or per-parallel pull-rate/case-hit odds statement. No source described any specific 2021-22 Noir set or parallel as a 'case hit' or 'SSP' in explicit terms. The three scarcity-pass files are therefore empty (headers only), consistent with the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Noir findings.
  • G-006 blog.paniniamerica.net (Panini's own blog) was checked for a 2021-22 Noir Basketball 'Panini Peek' preview article, Product Information Sheet (PIS) PDF, and Quality Control Gallery post (all three existed and were useful for 2020-21 Noir per that season's extraction). None of the three were found for 2021-22 despite targeted searches and direct URL-pattern guesses (21-22_Noir_BK_Hobby_PIS.pdf returned 404). This is noted as a genuine source gap, not a negative finding about the product.
  • G-007 Many auto/memorabilia set card counts (Auto Noir Black and White/Color, Autographed Prime Black and White/Color, Freeze Frame Signatures, NBA 75th Anniversary Autographs, Reigning Nights Signatures, Shadow Signatures, Showtime Signatures, Silver Screen Debut Signatures, Sneaker Spotlight Signatures, Spotlight Signatures Horizontal/Vertical, Box Office/Dish Night/Icons/Jumbo/New Wave/Newsreels/Rookie Jumbo/Two-Shot Rookie memorabilia sets) are corroborated by exactly two sources -- cardboardconnection.com and checklistcenter.com -- which agree with each other on every count checked, but no THIRD independent card-level checklist was found for any of them to rule out both sites sharing a common upstream source (e.g. a Panini press release) rather than being truly independent verifications.
  • G-008 Sneaker Spotlight (sets.csv card_count 10, insert, non-autograph companion to Sneaker Spotlight Signatures): NO card-level checklist found and the set's existence in this release is now actively doubtful. tcdb has no page for it -- the 2021-22 Noir sid block runs 314820-314913 and was enumerated completely via https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/301869/2021-22-Panini-Noir with every numeric gap inside it probed (314888, 314889 and 314907 all redirect to the tcdb homepage, i.e. they exist but render no cards; 314819 belongs to a different product, 2021 Panini Obsidian, and 314915 404s). cardboardconnection.com's own page for this release (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2021-22-panini-noir-basketball-nba-cards) does not list the set and carries a reader comment dated 2022-07-01 stating 'Sneaker Spotlight 10-card insert set has been removed from Panini official website checklist', with the author agreeing none had surfaced. The only marketplace hit is https://www.ebay.de/itm/315539331133 titled '2021-22 Panini Noir LeBron James Sneaker Spotlight #6 /99 Miami Heat', and that is NOT safe evidence: LeBron James does not appear anywhere in the 2021-22 Sneaker Spotlight Signatures checklist, the 2020-21 Noir Sneaker Spotlight set DID contain LeBron (see https://www.ebay.com/itm/154533576192, 'LEBRON JAMES 2020-21 Panini Noir Sneaker Spotlight #d/99 SP Basketball Card #10'), and this listing's own item-specifics Card Number field reads '699', which is not a card number. This reads as a cross-season mislabel, exactly the contamination pattern this line is known for. NOTHING WRITTEN for this set.
  • G-009 Icons Memorabilia: sets.csv card_count is 20 but tcdb's set page https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/314872/2021-22-Panini-Noir---Icons-Memorabilia states 'Total Cards 19' and renders exactly 19 rows, all with real IM- letter codes and no truncation. 19 of 20 written; the 20th card's identity and code are unresolved. sets.csv's count for this set is corroborated only by cardboardconnection.com and checklistcenter.com (see G-007), and cardboardconnection.com FAILED source calibration on this release (it renders Icons Memorabilia as '1-20' rather than IM- codes), so its 20 may itself be unreliable.
  • G-010 Spotlight Signatures Horizontal: 17 of 18 cards written. tcdb (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/314909/2021-22-Panini-Noir---Spotlight-Signatures-Horizontal) prints the literal string 'TBD' in the card-number column for the KHRIS MIDDLETON (Milwaukee Bucks) row -- confirmed by a narrow verbatim re-fetch of that single column, which returned the card-number values in page order as SSH-JRA, TBD, SSH-RUI, SSH-SBA, SSH-ZWL, SSH-ADV, SSH-ALP, SSH-BEN, SSH-BWL, SSH-CBA, SSH-EVM, SSH-JGR, SSH-JRI, SSH-JWL, SSH-KGA, SSH-LBI, SSH-MJO, SSH-TYH. The spec forbids writing a literal TBD, so the row is recorded here by name instead. The player is known (Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks); only the printed code is missing. It is NOT SSH-KHR or any other guess -- no code was inferred.
  • G-011 2020-21 Noir Update: 18 of the 52 cards sets.csv records are written. tcdb files this carryover under the 2021-22 Panini Noir parent as TEN separate '2020-21 Panini Noir Update I:' subsets, none of which has its own sets.csv row, so their cards were written under the single existing set '2020-21 Noir Update' with the originating subset named per row. Subset sids and their rendered counts: Auto Noir Black and White 314825 (1), Auto Noir Color 314827 (1), Autographed Prime Black and White 314829 (1), Autographed Prime Color 314831 (1), Freeze Frame Signatures 314833 (5), Reigning Nights Signatures 314836 (1), Shadow Signatures 314839 (3), Showtime Signatures 314842 (2), Snapshot Signatures 314845 (1), Spotlight Signatures Horizontal 314848 (2) = 18. The remaining 34 are on no source found. sets.csv's 52 is single-source (checklistcenter.com) per G-004 and is not independently confirmed.
  • G-012 2020-21 Spectra Update: 2 of the 6 cards sets.csv records are written. tcdb files it as '2020-21 Panini Spectra Hall of Fame Signatures' (sid 314849), header 'Total Cards 2', two rows: SH-GMC George McGinnis and SH-SMA Sarunas Marciulionis -- the same two signers sets.csv's own note names. The PARALLEL-PAGE TEST was run specifically to try to recover the missing four (spec 1d): the Gold page (sid 314850) and the Gold Vinyl page (sid 314851) each carry the identical two codes and nothing more, so tcdb holds no further cards for this set. sets.csv's 6 is single-source (checklistcenter.com) per G-004.
  • G-013 UNCATALOGUED SUBSET FOUND, NOT WRITTEN: tcdb sid 314904 is '2021-22 Panini Noir - Snapshot Signatures', header 'Total Cards 28', 28 rows with real SNA- letter codes (SNA-AAW Aaron Wiggins ... SNA-USM Usman Garuba), plus its own Holo Gold (314905) and Platinum (314906) parallel pages. It is a genuine 2021-22 Noir autograph set -- the roster is 2021-22-consistent (2021 rookies Alperen Sengun, Ayo Dosunmu, Charles Bassey, Isaiah Todd alongside veterans and Hall of Famers) -- but it has NO row in sets.csv, and the spec forbids creating one, so none of its 28 cards were written. Neither cardboardconnection.com nor checklistcenter.com listed it, which is why the ingest pass missed it. Its existence is separately corroborated by the fact that the prior-season carryover family also contains a 'Snapshot Signatures' subset (sid 314845). RECOMMENDED ACTION: add 'Snapshot Signatures' (auto, 28) to sets.csv in a sets pass, then re-run this checklist fill for it. • G-014 RESOLVES THE OPEN QUESTION IN G-003 (SLAM! Kicks card-number range), and CONTRADICTS the assumption stated there. G-003 reasoned that SLAM! Kicks should occupy 296-300 to complete the Metal Frame family at 201-300. It does NOT. tcdb's gallery page https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/301869/2021-22-Panini-Noir?PageIndex=30 renders, in order, cards 291-295 tagged 'VA, SN25' (Vintage Art, which therefore ends at 295) and then five cards numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 tagged 'SK, SN25' -- SLAM! Kicks restarts its own numbering at 1. cardsmithsbreaks.com's suggestion of a separate 1-5 numbering, which G-003 declined to rely on, was correct. Consequences: (a) the Metal Frame family occupies 201-295 plus a separate SK 1-5, not a clean 201-300; (b) SLAM! Kicks card numbers 1-5 COLLIDE with base cards 1-5 while being different players (base 1 Trae Young / SK 1 Dwyane Wade, base 2 Reggie Jackson / SK 2 Giannis Antetokounmpo, etc.) -- the five rows are written verbatim and flagged; (c) the product still totals 400 as tcdb's header states: 200 base + 95 (201-295) + 5 (SK 1-5) + 40 (301-340) + 40 (341-380) + 20 (381-400).
  • G-015 SOURCE CALIBRATION AND STRUCTURE FINDINGS FOR THIS RELEASE (recorded so the next pass does not re-derive them). (1) THE ONE-CONTINUOUS-BLOCK STRUCTURE RECURS in 2021-22 and its boundaries were re-verified from the pages themselves, not inherited: tcdb sid 301869 is a single 400-card checklist holding base 1-200, Statement Edition 201-230, Rookie Statement Edition 231-250, Feature Length 251-270, Split Screen 271-280, Vintage Art 281-295, SLAM! Kicks 1-5 (see G-014), Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White 301-340, Rookie Patch Autographs Color 341-380, Rookie Autographs 381-400. NINE sets.csv sets draw their numbers from it this season (eight in 2019-20 and 2020-21). Those ordinals are REAL, not placeholders: corroborated by a dealer listing at https://sportsnutcards.com/2021-22-panini-noir-201-giannis-antetokounmpo-met-13-25-metal-statement-edition/ reading '2021-22 Panini Noir 201 Giannis Antetokounmpo MET 13/25 Metal Statement Edition'. (2) TRUNCATION: Checklist.cfm?PageIndex=N DOES work on this sid (unlike the reported homepage redirect) but truncates -- page 3 cut off at row 283 of 300, page 4 at row 387 of 400. Gallery.cfm?PageIndex=N (10 per page, 40 pages, states the true 400 total) recovered 284-300 and 388-400 and was the ONLY way to see the SLAM! Kicks rows. (3) EVERY OTHER SET IN THIS RELEASE IS LETTER-CODED and tcdb prints the real codes on the set's own base page -- the placeholder-ordinal problem that dominated 2020-21 Noir did NOT recur here, and the parallel-page test was needed only once, for recovery on 2020-21 Spectra Update (G-012). (4) PREFIXES RE-DERIVED FROM PAGES, and several CHANGED from 2020-21: Auto Noir Black and White AB- -> ANB-, Auto Noir Color AC- -> ANC-, Box Office Memorabilia BM- -> BOM-, Newsreels Jerseys NJ-/NRJ- -> NWJ-. Full 2021-22 set: ANB-, ANC-, APB-, APC-, BOM-, DNM-, EDJ-, FF-, IM-, JM-, N75-, NWJ- (New Wave Jerseys), NWJ- (Newsreels Jerseys), RJM-, RN-, SHA-, SHS-, SIL-, SNS-, SSH-, SSV-, TSR-, and SNA- on the uncatalogued Snapshot Signatures. (5) TWO SETS SHARE ONE PREFIX INSIDE THIS RELEASE: New Wave Jerseys and Newsreels Jerseys both print NWJ-, confirmed on both sides by real eBay seller titles (https://www.ebay.com/itm/403951451444 'New Wave Patch #NWJ-CBS Charles Bassey'; https://www.ebay.com/itm/364856023549 '2021-22 Panini Noir - Newsreels Jerseys Collin Sexton #NWJ-CSX /75'). No card_number is duplicated between them, but a resolver keyed on prefix alone will mis-hit. (6) GENUINE DUPLICATE CODES WITHIN A SET, written verbatim and flagged: JM-TYH is both Tyler Herro and Tyrese Haliburton in Jumbo Materials; SSV-DRO is both Dennis Rodman and Duncan Robinson in Spotlight Signatures Vertical. (7) SOURCES THAT FAILED CALIBRATION ON THIS RELEASE: cardboardconnection.com renumbers the coded sets -- it renders Spotlight Signatures Horizontal as 1-20 (with 16 missing, i.e. a GAPPED run that still proves nothing), Icons Memorabilia as 1-20 and Sneaker Spotlight Signatures as 1-40-with-gaps, where the printed codes are SSH-, IM- and SNS-. An eBay catalogue entry (https://www.ebay.com/itm/235040192323) renders a Sneaker Spotlight Signatures card as '#SNS-12' -- the real prefix bolted onto a placeholder ordinal, the contamination pattern visible in one string. A SEARCH-ENGINE RESULT TITLE also proved unreliable: a result rendered the Newsreels Collin Sexton listing as '#NWJ-CBS' when the listing itself reads '#NWJ-CSX'; only fetching the listing settled it. (8) SOURCES THAT PASSED: tcdb.com Checklist.cfm / Gallery.cfm (real codes on every set page checked; a narrow verbatim re-fetch of Auto Noir Black and White returned ANB-JAE for Jae'Sean Tate, ANB-THT for Talen Horton-Tucker, 'Charlotte Bobcats' for Raymond Felton, ANB-ADV first and ANB-VCA last, matching what was written); and free-text marketplace seller titles on ebay.com /itm/ pages, store.nba.com and sportsnutcards.com, which independently confirmed ANB-NJK (https://www.ebay.com/itm/405880009564), SHA-JBO (https://www.ebay.com/itm/377114976097), RJM-CCH (store.nba.com), RN-JMU (https://www.ebay.de/itm/356579102485), NWJ-CBS and NWJ-CSX, and the block ordinal 201. (9) tcdb has NO BASE PAGE for Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White or Color as standalone subsets -- only the '... Tags' parallels (sids 314893, 314894) -- because their cards live in the 400-card block. Reasoning from 'which page exists' mattered here, as on 2019-20. (10) CROSS-SEASON NOTE FOR THE 2020-21 NOIR AGENT, NOT ACTED ON HERE: tcdb sid 314827, filed under the 2021-22 parent as '2020-21 Panini Noir Update I: Auto Noir Color', prints AC-KMC (Kevin McHale). That is a 2020-21-scheme code and belongs to that season's directory, not this one; it is reported, not written.
