• G-001 Release date: checklistinsider and cardsmithsbreaks/waxstat state July 25, 2025 (hobby); gogts.net states July 23, 2025; blog.paniniamerica.net's release article is dated July 24, 2025. Used July 25, 2025 (majority, and matches the UPC/price-tracker listing).
• G-002 base_set_size and 4-way tier structure (200 total, /99) cross-confirmed by checklistinsider, checklistcenter, and tcdb.com (card numbers 1-200 read directly off paginated checklist).
• G-003 Metal Frame family: blog.paniniamerica.net's own summary states '85 total' cards, but its own subset breakdown (City 35 + Biopic 15 + Feature Length 20 + Motion Picture 5 + Vintage Art 15 + Critically Acclaimed 10) sums to 100, matching the prior-year historical Metal Frame family total. Used the itemized subset counts (summing to 100) rather than the inconsistent stated total; flagged here rather than silently resolved.
• G-004 Holo Ruby vs 'Holo Red' naming: blog.paniniamerica.net (first-party) uses 'Holo Red' when describing the base parallels, while checklistinsider and cardsmithsbreaks (2 independent aggregators) both call it 'Holo Ruby /25'. Recorded as Holo Ruby (majority + has a stated print run); the blog's alternate name is unresolved.
• G-005 No published pull-rate odds sheet found for any set or parallel (consistent with all four prior Noir Basketball seasons); scarcity_sets.csv, scarcity_parallels.csv and ssp_cards.csv are legitimately empty. Box averages ('4 autos, 3 memorabilia per box') were found but are not odds and were not tiered.
• G-006 A 20-card 'Rookie Autographs' (non-patch) set matching the historical tcdb reconciliation pattern could not be located by name for this season; full reconciliation against base(200)+MetalFrame(100)+RPA(34+34) was not completed for that reason.
• G-007 Several auto/insert set names (Shadow Signatures, Sneaker Spotlight Signatures, Spotlight Signatures Vertical, Showrunner Signatures, Starring Role, A-List Signatures, 10th Anniversary Patch Autographs, Night Lights Autographs, International) are attested by name only (cardsmithsbreaks, blog.paniniamerica.net, or tcdb) with no card-count source found; recorded with UNKNOWN counts rather than guessed.
• G-008 BLOCK STRUCTURE RESOLVED. This release numbers base + Metal Frame + the rookie autograph block in ONE CONTINUOUS 400-CARD RUN filed under the base checklist (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/504696/2024-25-Panini-Noir, header 'Total Cards 386'). Boundaries derived from tcdb Gallery attribute labels: base 1-200 (SN99); MFC 201-235 = Metal Frame City Edition; BIO 236-250 = Metal Frame Biopic; FL 251-270 = Metal Frame Feature Length; MP 271-275 = Metal Frame Motion Picture; VA 276-290 = Metal Frame Vintage Art; CA 291-300 = Metal Frame Critically Acclaimed; B&W/AU/MEM/RC 301-340 = Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White; AU/MEM/RC 341-380 = Rookie Patch Autographs Color; AU/MEM 381-390 = 10th Anniversary Patch Autographs; AU 391-400 = an uncatalogued 'Rookie Autographs' set. All six Metal Frame counts match sets.csv exactly. 386 = 400 minus 14 numbers tcdb renders no card for: 308, 311, 312, 316, 328, 333, 340, 348, 351, 352, 356, 368, 373, 380 - note these mirror exactly at a +40 offset between the two RPA blocks. Unlike 2022-23, the tcdb page carries NO 'no cards issued' statement, so whether all 14 are unissued or some are simply uncatalogued is unconfirmed; #308/#348 are demonstrably the latter (see G-009). Gallery.cfm paginates 1:1 with card number through index 300, then shifts by one per skipped number: index 371 = card 385.
• G-009 Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White / Color: sets.csv says 34 each; 33 each written. The 34th in each is DaRon Holmes II (Denver Nuggets), at #308 (B&W) and #348 (Color) - https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball lists '308 DaRon Holmes II - Denver Nuggets /15' and tcdb renders no card at 308 or 348. NOT written because checklistinsider is a roster-only source for card numbers under the spec. Note the calibration nuance: checklistinsider reproduces this block's real ordinals 301-339 EXACTLY as tcdb does (33/33 match), so it is not renumbering the block-numbered sets - but it DOES renumber this release's letter-coded sets 1..N (see G-010), so its numbers were not used as a source anywhere. If #308/#348 are confirmed elsewhere, both rows resolve free.
• G-010 SOURCE CALIBRATION FOR THIS RELEASE. PASSED: tcdb.com Checklist.cfm/Gallery.cfm - prints real letter codes (GGE-, SNP-, SSS-, SSV-, NBA-, AL-, NLA-, SS-, ANB-, PBW-) and real block ordinals; Gallery.cfm corroborated Checklist.cfm row-for-row on Sneaker Spotlight Signatures page 1 and on parent-block cards 281-282 (fabrication check 4). PARTIAL: https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball - faithful on the block-numbered sets (301-339 exact) but RENUMBERS every letter-coded set 1..N (its GenreGraphs reads '1 Miles Bridges, 2 David Robinson, 3 Zach LaVine' where tcdb prints GGE-; its Sneaker Spotlight reads '1 Trae Young' where tcdb prints SSS-TRY). Used for rosters and counts only. Same for cardsmithsbreaks.com. FAILED as evidence: eBay /p/ catalogue pages and eBay structured 'Card Number' fields - the /itm/ page 358165938524 renders a tcdb-shaped catalogue title, so it inherits rather than confirms. NOT REACHABLE: beckett.com/news returns 403; gogts.net publishes its checklist only as PDF/XLSX, not HTML; www.tcdb.com is blocked to curl through the agent proxy (WebFetch works).
• G-011 Literal TBD placeholders in tcdb's card-number column, withheld rather than written (spec section 2). NBA at Night Signatures - 7 rows read 'NBA-TBD' (confirmed verbatim on Gallery.cfm page 1): Ben Wallace, Cade Cunningham, Gary Payton, Jalen Brunson, Julius Erving, Jaren Jackson Jr., Shaquille O'Neal. Spotlight Signatures Vertical - 1 row reads 'TBD': Paul George. A-List Signatures - 1 row reads 'TBD': Julius Erving. All 9 players' rosters are known; only the printed codes are unpublished, so these resolve free on a later pass. (Autographed Prime Black and White, an uncatalogued subset, carries a 10th such row: Austin Reaves.)
• G-012 ROSTER KNOWN, NUMBERS NOT YET PUBLISHED - partial-coverage sets. (a) NBA at Night Signatures: sets.csv 28, tcdb 23, 16 written. Beyond the 7 NBA-TBD rows in G-011, 5 players are absent from tcdb entirely: OG Anunoby, Metta World Peace, Julius Randle, Mikal Bridges, Fred VanVleet (per https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball). (b) Snapshot Signatures: sets.csv 30, tcdb 25, 25 written; the 5 absent are Bruce Brown, Donte DiVincenzo, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Bobby Portis, Pacome Dadiet. (c) GenreGraphs: sets.csv 19, tcdb 18, 18 written; the absent card is Miles Bridges (checklistinsider annotates him '/15 (no base)'; that page declares '20 cards' while listing 19 names - a self-inconsistency, and sets.csv's 19 matches the name count). All numbers are letter codes and none of these players' codes could be sourced.
• G-013 ROSTER KNOWN, NUMBERS NOT YET PUBLISHED - Shadow Signatures. tcdb has NO set page for 2024-25 Shadow Signatures: it is absent from the MIDDLE of the alphabetical listing at https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/504696/2024-25-Panini-Noir (between 'Screenplay Jerseys Platinum' and 'Showrunner Signatures'), so this is a genuine absence and not the listing's tail truncation. 1 of 34 written - SHARES-JJB (J.J. Barea), from an eBay /itm/ seller title fetched directly. The prefix 'SHARES-' is not derivable and differs from 2023-24's 'STS-'. • G-014 ROSTER KNOWN, NUMBERS NOT YET PUBLISHED - NEONoir Signatures. tcdb has NO set page (absent from the middle of the alphabetical listing at https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/504696/2024-25-Panini-Noir, between 'NBA at Night Signatures Platinum' and 'New Wave Jerseys'). 1 of 21 written - NEO-JSU (Jalen Suggs), from an eBay /itm/ seller title fetched directly. The other 20, withheld by name (per https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball, which renumbers the set 1..N and so cannot supply codes): Chet Holmgren, Dwyane Wade, Alperen Sengun, Julius Randle, Andrew Wiggins, Jaylon Tyson, AJ Johnson, Gary Payton, Klay Thompson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Dalton Knecht, Tristan da Silva, DaRon Holmes II, Mike Bibby, Manu Ginobili, Trae Young, Anfernee Hardaway, GG Jackson II, Zion Williamson, Dennis Rodman.
• G-015 NOTHING CATALOGUED AT ALL - Starring Role. Zero rows written. No tcdb set page (tcdb's own set search for 'Noir Starring Role' returns only 1997 Ultra sid/1097 and 2003 Upper Deck sid/15457); sid probes 574754, 582450 and 582455 all 404. No checklist section on https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball or on cardsmithsbreaks.com - both name the set only. blog.paniniamerica.net names it in a list of new 2024-25 autograph inserts and gives no count, print run or roster. Not even a partial roster exists, so this cannot resolve free; it needs a source that does not yet exist publicly. sets.csv count stays UNKNOWN.
• G-016 'International' (sets.csv row, insert, UNKNOWN count) - ZERO ROWS WRITTEN, MODELLING CONFLICT. tcdb sid 542422 'https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/542422/2024-25-Panini-Noir-International' is not an insert set: it is the /15 International parallel of the ENTIRE 400-card block, 288 cards, whose card numbers are the base and insert numbers repeated (Gallery page 1 = '1 Victor Wembanyama'...'10 Jayson Tatum', byte-identical to base_cards.csv 1-10; Gallery page 29 = 393-400, all 'AU, SN15'). Writing it into insert_cards.csv would duplicate all 200 base cards plus the 201-400 insert block under an insert set name - exactly the copy-check pattern in spec section 3.1. parallels.csv already models 'International /15' as a base-set parallel, so sets.csv and parallels.csv describe the same artefact two different ways. Resolve the scope question before any rows are written; do not treat this as a research gap.
• G-017 RESOLVES G-006. The suspected uncatalogued rookie autograph set exists and is 10 cards at 391-400, not 20: https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball heads that range 'Base Rookie Autographs Checklist - 10 cards. /99 or /49', matching tcdb's attributes exactly (391-395 SN49, 396 SN99, 397 SN49, 398-400 SN99). Roster per tcdb Gallery pages 38-39: 391 Matas Buzelis, 392 Reed Sheppard, 393 Donovan Clingan, 394 Dalton Knecht, 395 Tristan da Silva, 396 Tidjane Salaun, 397 Zach Edey, 398 Jared McCain, 399 Bub Carrington, 400 Devin Carter. NOT WRITTEN - there is no 'Rookie Autographs' row in sets.csv and a subset without a sets.csv row is a gap, never a new set. The same source resolves 381-390 to 10th Anniversary Patch Autographs, which IS in sets.csv and has been written (count UNKNOWN -> 10). Full block reconciliation now closes: 200 base + 100 Metal Frame + 34 + 34 RPA + 10 + 10 = 388 numbered slots across 1-400 with 12 unissued.
• G-018 UNCATALOGUED tcdb SUBSETS - real sets with no sets.csv row, GAPPED not created. From https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/504696/2024-25-Panini-Noir (base pages only; parallels omitted): Auto Noir Black and White (sid 582448, 26 cards, prefix ANB-), Auto Noir Color (582457), Autographed Prime Black and White (582444, 11 cards, prefix PBW-), Autographed Prime Color (602819), Box Office Memorabilia (566838), Casting Call Memorabilia (566844), Elegant Decor Rookie Jerseys (566851), Freeze Frame Signatures (574748, prefix FFS-), Game Night Jerseys (566875), Icon Materials (602823, International only), Jumbo Materials (562787), Lights Camera Action! (566860, International only), Logoman (566863), Midnight Signatures (582452), New Wave Jerseys (567494), Opening Night Memorabilia (582441, International only), Prequel Memorabilia (566877), Rookie Jumbo Material (566883), Screenplay Jerseys (566864), Showtime Signatures (574735), Sneaker Spotlight (557484 - distinct from Sneaker Spotlight Signatures), Split-Screen Memorabilia (566760, International only), Spotlight (557439), Spotlight Signatures Horizontal (574733), plus the in-block Rookie Autographs of G-017. https://www.checklistinsider.com/2024-25-panini-noir-basketball additionally names Capstones (10 cards /10), Cinema Autographs International, Curtain Call Autographs International, Emblazoned Ink, Encore Signatures International and Smoke Show Signatures International, none of which appear in sets.csv either. sets.csv is materially incomplete for this release, consistent with 2023-24.
• G-019 PRIOR-SEASON 'UPDATE' SUBSETS filed under this release's parent sid - EXCLUDED, no rows written (spec section 3a). 37 such sets head https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/504696/2024-25-Panini-Noir: 2020-21/2021-22/2022-23 Panini Crown Royale Update II Silhouettes families (sids 566630-566639), 2023-24 Panini Crown Royale Update I families (566640-566649), 2023-24 Panini Impeccable Update II Extravagance Autographs and Indelible Ink families (566650-566657), and 2023-24 Panini Noir Update II: Auto Noir Black and White / Auto Noir Color / Snapshot Signatures / Spotlight Signatures Vertical families (566658-566666). The last group is the dangerous one: it carries 2023-24 Noir set names identical to 2024-25 set names on a different numbering scheme, so a resolver keyed on name alone would cross-write them. They ship in these packs but are a different product.
• G-020 tcdb Inserts.cfm TRUNCATES for this release at 174 rows, ending mid-alphabet at 'Spotlight Signatures Horizontal' (sid 574733), and ?PageIndex=2 returns the identical truncated list rather than paginating - so any subset sorting after 'Spotlight Signatures H...' is invisible there. Spotlight Signatures Vertical (574734) and Night Lights Autographs (641758) were recovered by other means; whatever else sorts into that tail has not been enumerated. Checklist.cfm on the PARENT sid DOES paginate (?PageIndex=3 = cards 201-282, ?PageIndex=4 = 301-385), each page itself truncated; Gallery.cfm?PageIndex=N was the fix and supplied 283-300 and 386-400.
