  • G-001 Release date disagreement, 2 independent sources against 1. tcdb's parent set page renders "Release Date: July 19, 2019" and cardboardconnection renders "Release Date: July 19, 2019"; checklistcenter renders "July 17, 2019". 2019-07-19 was written on the two-source agreement, and the two agreeing sources are from different editorial lineages. Neither date is labelled an estimate. beckett.com, which is the usual third structural source and which the 2019-20 sibling used to adjudicate its own date dispute, could not be consulted - see the beckett gap below. • G-002 A base-set parallel that ONE source catalogues and TWO omit, possibly a tcdb duplicate. tcdb lists "Gold" (sid 210066) in the "Parallel Sets (5)" section of the parent Inserts.cfm, and the sid renders "2018-19 Panini Opulence - Gold", Total Cards: 100, the base roster starting card 1 Damian Lillard, with the flag token "SN10" on every one of the 83 rows it rendered. Neither cardboardconnection nor checklistcenter lists a base-set Gold tier: both print exactly four base parallels (Holo Gold #/10, Emerald #/5, Ruby FOTL #/3, Platinum 1/1). Two things make a duplicate plausible: its print run is identical to Holo Gold's (sid 209936, also Total Cards 100, also SN10 on every rendered row), and its sid sits at the head of the INSERT block (210066, immediately before 24K Autographs at 210067) rather than with the other base parallels at 209936-209939. The row was written because tcdb positively renders it and evidence-or-omit writes what a source renders, but a consumer counting base-parallel tiers should know this may be four tiers rather than five. To settle it: compare the two sids' card images, or find any marketplace listing for a 2018-19 Opulence base "Gold" that is not a "Holo Gold". • G-003 SECTION 5.3 EXCLUSION APPLIED, and the catalogue is known to contradict itself on this rule. The parent states "Total Cards: 150" and Checklist.cfm?PageIndex=2 renders 50 further rows past the base run: cards 101-125 flagged "AU, RC" and cards 126-150 flagged "AU, MEM, RC, SN79". base_set_size is written as 100, excluding both blocks, which are filed as the sets.csv rows "Rookie Autographs" and "Rookie Patch Autographs". The Total Cards figure of 150 was used only to DETECT the block; the block's real end was read off the last rendered row. DIVERGENCE NAMED: contenders-bkb-2019-20 sets base_set_size=165 INCLUDING its Rookie Ticket autographs 101-165, while contenders-bkb-2020-21, 2022-23 and 2023-24 and all of contendersoptic exclude the equivalent block - same manufacturer, opposite convention, and nothing on either release row tells a reader which it is under. This release follows the exclusion rule the spec states. The 2019-20 Opulence sibling does not exercise the rule at all: its parent has no block past its 100-card base, so 2018-19 is the first Opulence season where the question arises. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence?PageIndex=2 ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence
  • G-004 rookie_flag is UNKNOWN for all 100 base cards. No source fetched displays an "RC" designation on any base row: tcdb renders only the serial token "SN39" on cards 1-100 across Checklist.cfm page 1 and Gallery.cfm pages 8, 9 and 10, and neither cardboardconnection nor checklistcenter prints RC markers. NOTE THE DISCRIMINATIVE SHAPE AND WHY IT WAS STILL NOT ACTED ON: the SAME renderer prints "RC" on every one of the parent's rows 101-150, so tcdb clearly does carry RC designations for this product and chose not to put one on any base row. That is positive evidence about tcdb's designation practice, not about the cards: the base set contains at least eleven 2018-19 rookies (4 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 6 Trae Young, 28 Wendell Carter Jr., 29 Mo Bamba, 57 Kevin Knox, 61 Marvin Bagley III, 67 Allonzo Trier, 68 Collin Sexton, 84 Jaren Jackson Jr., 88 Luka Doncic, 89 Deandre Ayton, 93 Michael Porter Jr.), so writing rookie_flag=no across the run would be false. Per CAV-003 and EXTRACTION_SPEC section 2.4 all 100 are UNKNOWN. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence?PageIndex=2 ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball/
  • G-005 THE SCHEMA CANNOT EXPRESS "SERIAL NUMBERED, RUN VARIES PER CARD", AND THAT IS THE DOMINANT STATE IN THIS RELEASE. Ten parallel rows carry print_run=UNKNOWN / serial_numbered=UNKNOWN when they are PROVABLY serial numbered with a per-card variable run, because the forced pairing has no third state. The affected rows and their enumerated DISTINCT token sets: Gold Medal Jersey Autographs Gold (SN25 x4, SN24, SN14); Gold Medal Jersey Autographs Holo Gold (SN10 x9, SN5); Precious Swatch Signatures Gold (SN25 x22, SN23, SN18, SN10); Rookie Patch Autographs Booklet Nameplate (SN4, SN5 x5, SN6 x3, SN7 x3, SN8 x4, SN9 x2, SN10, SN17 - eight distinct tokens on 24 rows); Rookie Patch Autographs Booklet Sponsor Logo (SN5 x15, SN4 x2, SN2); Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet Brand Logo (SN2 x4, SN1 x2); Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet Tags (SN2 x2, SN1 x2); Rookie Patches Booklet Sponsor Logo (SN3 x2, SN4); Rookie Patches Booklet Tags (SN5 x17, SN4 x4, SN3 x2, SN1 x2, SN2); and Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet Sponsor Logo, which no source gives a run for at all. The same state exists at SET level and sets.csv has nowhere at all to record it: sixteen of the twenty non-base sets have per-card variable runs, enumerated in each set's notes - e.g. Rookie Autographs is "SN99" on 22 of 25 rows and "SN79" on cards 108 Collin Sexton, 109 Hamidou Diallo and 110 Jaren Jackson Jr. (confirmed on a second differently-parameterised fetch, ?PageIndex=2&sort=0), and 24K Autographs renders SN79 x16, SN49 x2, SN25 and SN15 across 20 rows. checklistcenter independently describes this shape in words on set after set - "Serial Numbered #/99 or as Noted", "#/79 or as Noted", "as Noted" - so this is a property of the product, not of one catalogue. THIS IS THE SECTION 2.3 EXPRESSIVENESS GAP, recurring at scale. • G-006 CEILINGS REFUSED, AND EVERY PROBED CEILING TURNED OUT TO BE VARIABLE. cardboardconnection states four parallel runs as ceilings - "Gold #/25 or less" for Gold Medal Jersey Autographs, "Gold #/25 or less" for Precious Swatch Signatures, "Nameplate #/17 or less" and "Sponsor Logo #/5 or less" for Rookie Patch Autographs Booklet, "Tags #/5 or less" for Rookie Patches Booklet - and one as a pair of values, "Sponsor Logo #/4 or #/3" for Rookie Patches Booklet. A ceiling is not a print run, so none of these figures was written. ALL FIVE ceilings were probed at row level and ALL FIVE are per-card variable, with the ceiling sitting on only a minority or a single card: Nameplate's stated 17 is the LARGEST of eight distinct values and appears on exactly one card of 24. The "#/4 or #/3" pair is likewise exactly what its tier renders (SN3 on two of three cards, SN4 on one). This is worth recording as corroboration of the rule rather than as a mere refusal: on this release the ceiling convention would have produced a wrong integer every time it was tested. DIVERGENCE FROM EXISTING CATALOGUE DATA: EXTRACTION_SPEC section 2.3 records that older rows (Contenders Ticket Stub 77, Season Ticket Stub 50, Elite Red/Aspirations/Status 99) wrote the ceiling and gapped it. These rows write UNKNOWN. Same evidence shape, opposite value. Sources: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards
  • G-007 Card count disagreement, resolved 2-1 against cardboardconnection. cardboardconnection states "Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet Set Checklist - 10 cards"; checklistcenter states "8 Cards - Serial Numbered #/20 or as Noted"; tcdb sid 210088 states "Total Cards: 8" and renders exactly 8 rows (GQ-DJMM, GQ-DLMT, GQ-JSML, GQ-JWCK, GQ-MJKG, GQ-TSGC, GQ-TSGD, GQ-WAKD). Written as 8. Note the coincidence that could mislead a later pass: this set's LOGOMAN parallel renders 10 rows (sid 210090, Total Cards 10), so 10 is a real figure in this set's neighbourhood and cardboardconnection may have counted the parallel roster - the CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC "a parallel's roster" unit hiding in a count. Not established, only noted. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/210088/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Golden-Rookie-Quad-Memorabilia-Booklet ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball/
  • G-008 Card count disagreement WITH A STATED CAUSE. cardboardconnection and checklistcenter both state 22 cards; tcdb sid 210106 states "Total Cards: 20", renders 20 rows, and the parent Inserts.cfm carries the per-set note "Klay Thompson and Russell Westbrook have been removed from Panini official website checklist. This also includes subsequent parallels." 22 minus exactly those two names is 20. Written as 20 - the count of what is rendered and of what the corrected Panini checklist carries - with the 22 recorded here. A consumer comparing this release against either aggregator will see the two-card difference and this is its explanation. Also note the parallels: if Thompson and Westbrook were removed from the Gold, Holo Gold and Platinum tiers too, those tiers' rosters are two shorter than the aggregator lists imply. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/210106/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Opulent-Autographs ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball/
  • G-009 tcdb HEADER CONTRADICTS tcdb's OWN PAGINATION and the header loses. sid 210092 states "Total Cards: 30". Its ViewSet render returns 22 rows; its Gallery.cfm?PageIndex=3 renders exactly 5 tiles (GA-RJK Reggie Jackson, GA-RPS Robert Parish, GA-SCL Sam Cassell, TBA Tim Hardaway Jr., GA-ZLV Zach LaVine), i.e. 20 + 5 = 25 rows in total, and pagination stops there. cardboardconnection ("25 cards") and checklistcenter ("25 Cards") both say 25. Written as 25. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC a header disagreeing with the rendered rows is a question about the UNIT, and no unit was found that makes 30 correct here - the count is simply wrong, not counting something else. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/210092/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Golden-Autographed-Memorabilia?PageIndex=3 ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball/
  • G-010 FOUR PARALLEL ROWS REST ON cardboardconnection ALONE, WITH NO tcdb SID TO CORROBORATE AT ROW LEVEL. (1) Rookie Patch Autographs Gold #/25, Holo Gold #/10 and Platinum 1/1: cardboardconnection states "Rookie Patch Autographs Set Checklist - 25 cards serial numbered #/79, parallels: Gold #/25, Holo Gold #/10, Platinum 1/1", and tcdb catalogues no sid for any of them. This is not an enumeration failure: the three sid runs this release occupies are 209936-209939, 210066-210126 and 216267-216269, each contiguous and fully accounted for against the Inserts.cfm listing, with both boundaries of each proved foreign by probe (209935 tennis, 209940 the tcdb HOME PAGE, 210065 a 1910-25 tobacco silk set, 210127 2019 Panini Elements Cobalt football, 216266 a 2019 Pristine Auction promo, 216270 2017 Select Certified AFL). There is no numeric gap for a missing sid to sit in, so tcdb genuinely does not catalogue these tiers. (2) Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet Sponsor Logo: cardboardconnection names it among that set's parallels and states no run; tcdb lists only Brand Logo, Logoman and Tags. Written as print_run=UNKNOWN. CAV-033 applies to all four: with beckett.com down the only independent corroboration available for these would have been a marketplace listing, and none was sought before the fetch budget ran out. Sources: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence
  • G-012 CHANNEL IS UNKNOWN WITH AN EMPTY channel_basis ON 53 OF 54 PARALLEL ROWS, AND THIS DIVERGES FROM THE SIBLING SEASON. No source consulted STATES a trade channel for 2018-19 Opulence or claims exclusivity for any of its tiers: cardboardconnection prints a configuration line ("Product Configuration: 8 cards per pack, 1 pack per box, 3 boxes per case") but no hobby-only or retail statement anywhere on the page, checklistcenter prints none, and tcdb states none. The single exception is the base-set Ruby tier, which cardboardconnection and checklistcenter both print as "Ruby FOTL #/3"; that row carries channel=FOTL with channel_basis=from-name, since the name is the only thing asserting it. WHAT WAS FOUND AND STILL NOT WRITTEN, so a later pass does not repeat the search: DA Card World retails the product on a page titled "2018/19 Panini Opulence Basketball Hobby Box" and independently reproduces the configuration ("1 Pack Per Box, 8 Cards Per Pack"). That is a genuine hobby PRESENCE citation and it was deliberately not promoted to channel=hobby, for two reasons. First, caveats.csv CAV-010: a single named channel value asserts EXCLUSIVITY to that channel, and no source claims this product was hobby-exclusive. Second, the Ruby FOTL tier is positive evidence the product shipped in more than one box configuration, and a First Off The Line Opulence box of about this date does appear on the secondary market ("2019 Panini Opulence Basketball 1st Off The Line Box", StockX, release date 09/01/2019 - which matches this product rather than the 2019-20 one, though StockX's bare "2019" is not by itself a season attribution). Writing hobby across 52 rows would assert an exclusivity that the release's own parallel ladder contradicts. If a later pass finds a Panini sell sheet or product information sheet for this release, channel=hobby with channel_basis=sourced-exclusive is the promotion to make, on every row except Ruby. DIVERGENCE: opulence-bkb-2019-20 writes channel=hobby with channel_basis=unsupported on all three of its base-set parallels and channel=UNKNOWN on its set-scope rows. That release had a sourced hobby-only statement in its own release notes to lean on ("Hobby-only release: 1 pack per box, 7 cards per pack"); this one does not, and inheriting the sibling's value would be inheriting a fact about a different season. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC section 2.3, declining to assign a channel means channel=UNKNOWN and an EMPTY basis - unsupported describes a known channel you could not source and would be rejected by migrations/003_parallels.sql here. An ultra-premium single-pack product is very likely hobby-only; "very likely" is not a source. • G-013 beckett.com WAS NOT CONSULTED AND COULD NOT BE - CAV-033. Every request to beckett.com has 302-redirected to maintenance.beckett.com since at least 2026-09-20 and returns no content; four agents recorded this independently on the 2018-19 Crown Royale, Court Kings, Spectra and Noir builds, and no fetch was spent on it here. The consequence is specific and should be read with the corroboration claims in this release: the two editorial sources that carry this product's set list, print runs and release date are cardboardconnection and checklistcenter, which agents on this project have repeatedly found agree almost verbatim and which CAV-033 says are best read as ONE editorial lineage rather than two. Wherever this release says "two sources agree" and both of them are those two sites, treat it as one opinion. The claims that do NOT rest on that lineage are the ones corroborated by tcdb at row level, which is most of parallels.csv and every sets.csv card_count. The claims that DO rest on it alone are listed in the single-source gaps above. The 2019-20 Opulence sibling was built while beckett was still reachable and used it to adjudicate its own release-date dispute; that option did not exist here.
  • G-014 SET-NAME DIVERGENCES BETWEEN SOURCES, RECORDED RATHER THAN ACTED ON. Written names follow cardboardconnection, which agrees with tcdb on every set but one. (1) tcdb titles sid 210075 "Gilded Sigs" where cardboardconnection and checklistcenter both print "Gilded Signatures"; written as "Gilded Signatures". (2) checklistcenter titles the Golden Vintage set "Golden Vintage Memorabilia Auto Set" where cardboardconnection and tcdb both print "Golden Vintage Autographs"; written as "Golden Vintage Autographs". (3) checklistcenter abbreviates throughout - "Rookie Auto Set", "24K Auto Set", "Gold Medal Jersey Auto Set", "Golden Auto Memorabilia Set", "Luxurious Auto Set", "Magnificent Auto Set", "Opulent Auto Set", "Rookie Patch Auto Booklet Set" - which reads as that site's house style rather than a name claim. (4) cardboardconnection suffixes most entries "Set Checklist", also house style. (5) The base-set Ruby tier is "Ruby" on tcdb and "Ruby FOTL" on both editorial sites - see parallels.csv. None of these is a brand-identity question; no brand row is implicated. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/204548/2018-19-Panini-Opulence ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball-cards ; https://www.checklistcenter.com/2018-19-panini-opulence-basketball/
  • G-015 THIS SEASON'S CARDS ARE FILED UNDER THE NEXT SEASON'S PARENT, THE SECTION 5.5 MIRROR, AND IT IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED FROM THE OTHER SIDE. The 2019-20 Opulence build recorded (its gap G-009) that tcdb files 17 subsets titled "2018-19 Panini Opulence Update I: ..." under the 2019-20 parent sid 233435 (sids 605287-605302 plus 244562), covering City of Gold Signatures, Golden Vintage Autographs, Luxurious Autographs, Magnificent Autographs, Opulent Autographs and Precious Swatch Signatures and their colour tiers - all sets that exist in THIS release. That build correctly declined to write their cards into 2019-20. Two independent confirmations surfaced from this side: tcdb sid 210096 (Luxurious Autographs) carries a per-row note that a John Wall card "was added to 2019-20 Opulence rather than released with the original 2018-19 product", and tcdb sid 210114 (Precious Swatch Signatures) carries the page note "This set was released across multiple years/releases". CONSEQUENCE FOR THIS RELEASE, NOT RESOLVED HERE: the Update I blocks are 2018-19-branded cards that did not ship in 2018-19 packs, so whether they belong in this release's sets.csv as flagged cross-season rows (EXTRACTION_SPEC section 5.5 says list and flag them) or stay where the sibling left them is a question this build could not settle without re-reading 17 sids under the other release's parent, which is another agent's directory. No Update row was written here. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/210096/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Luxurious-Autographs ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/210114/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Precious-Swatch-Signatures ; data/opulence-bkb-2019-20/gaps.csv G-009
  • G-016 A FRESH INSTANCE OF THE BOTH-WAYS FLAG-COLUMN LOSSINESS, ON THE BASE-SET Platinum TIER. ViewSet.cfm/sid/209939 rendered 74 rows of the base roster and NO flag column at all - zero serial tokens on any row - while Checklist.cfm on the same sid with ?sort=0 renders "SN1" on every row. Had the absence been treated as evidence, this tier would have been written unnumbered/no, which is false: cardboardconnection and checklistcenter both state "Platinum 1/1". This is the direction the 2026-09-20 correction to EXTRACTION_SPEC section 3.2 describes - ViewSet dropping what Checklist renders - and it is recorded because that correction was written from select-bkb and threads-bkb and this is an independent third reproduction, on a different line and a different season. Every other ViewSet.cfm probe in this release DID render the flag column, including on sibling sids in the same contiguous run (209936 Holo Gold, 209937 Emerald, 209938 Ruby), so the loss is per-fetch and not a property of the endpoint or of the sid range. Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/209939/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Platinum ; https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/209939/2018-19-Panini-Opulence-Platinum?sort=0
  • G-017 TWO UNWRITEABLE CARD-NUMBER TOKENS FOUND WHILE COUNTING SETS, RECORDED FOR THE CHASE PASS - no insert_cards.csv was written by this build. (1) Golden Autographed Memorabilia, tcdb sid 210092, Gallery page 3: one row renders the literal string "TBA" in the card-number column, for Tim Hardaway Jr., sitting between GA-SCL Sam Cassell and GA-ZLV Zach LaVine. Per CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC a literal TBD/TBA is withheld and the player named - he is named here. (2) Nouveau Riche Signatures, tcdb sid 210102: 24 of 25 rows render real NR- codes and one renders the bare ordinal "18" for Mitchell Robinson. That is the documented mixed-code-and-bare-ordinal shape; one real code settles the scheme, so the 24 coded rows are writeable and the Mitchell Robinson number is not. Also recorded for the chase pass: this release confirms the 2018-19 digit-bearing suffix pattern the scope memo describes, in a THIRD set beyond the two it names - Nouveau Riche Signatures prints "NR-LW4" for Lonnie Walker IV and "NR-MB3" for Marvin Bagley III, alongside Prizm's SS-/RS- forms. These are printed, not typos. • G-018 SIX OF THE TEN DISTINCT PARALLEL NAMES IN THIS RELEASE DERIVE TO parallel_family="other", AND NO FAMILY WAS MINTED. channel_class and parallel_family were derived by lifting CHANNEL_CLASS and family_of out of pipeline/fix_schema.py by AST, so the repo still holds one definition. The names that land on "other" are Gold, Ruby, Brand Logo, Sponsor Logo, Logoman, Nameplate and Tags; Holo Gold derives to Holo, Emerald to Emerald, Platinum to Platinum. Two observations for whoever owns the taxonomy, neither acted on here. (1) "Gold" and "Ruby" are ordinary colour tiers and the FAMILIES list has no pattern for either, while it does have Emerald, Platinum, Amethyst, Bronze and Sapphire - so the gap looks like an omission in the list rather than a property of this line. Adding a "Gold" pattern would need checking against the ordered-substring hazard CAV-019 documents, since Gold is a substring of "Holo Gold" and of the existing "Black Gold" entry and would have to sit AFTER both. (2) Brand Logo, Sponsor Logo, Logoman, Nameplate and Tags are patch-window and booklet-material treatments, not visual finishes, which is the same unresolved question CAV-021 raises about "Electric Etch" and "Premium". They are left as "other" deliberately. Source: pipeline/fix_schema.py FAMILIES and family_of
  • G-019 CARD COUNTS IN THIS RELEASE COUNT DISTINCT CARDS, CHECKED RATHER THAN ASSUMED, WITH ONE SET WHERE THE UNIT QUESTION IS LIVE. Every sets.csv card_count here was taken from tcdb's own rendered row count and cross-checked against two editorial sources, and eighteen of twenty-one reconcile exactly across all three. Two multi-signer sets were specifically checked against the signers-not-cards unit and both count CARDS: Rookie Octo Signature Booklet is card_count 1 and is one card carrying eight rookie signatures (tcdb renders a single row, card "OCTO", flagged "AU, SN25, EXCH"), and Golden Rookie Quad Memorabilia Booklet is card_count 8 and is 8 four-player booklets, not 32 players. The live question is the one recorded above: cardboardconnection's 10 for Golden Rookie Quad may be that set's Logoman parallel roster rather than a card count.
