  • G-001 Panini's own blog (blog.paniniamerica.net, "RELEASING FRIDAY (8/5)!! 2021-22 Recon Basketball (Hobby)") states the release as "Friday, August 5th, 2021" in body text. Four independent sources -- tcdb.com (ViewSet sid 314600 and cardsmithsbreaks.com both say "August 5, 2022"), checklistcenter.com ("August 5, 2022"), and DA Card World's product listing -- all say 2022-08-05, and this is corroborated by the base checklist itself (2021 NBA-draft rookies Cade Cunningham/Scottie Barnes/etc. on cards 201-250 could not print before the Oct. 2021 draft). Panini blog's "2021" is treated as an error; 2022-08-05 used. Same dating-quirk pattern documented for the 2020-21 Recon sibling product.
  • G-002 FOTL (1st Off The Line) hobby box release date 2022-07-28 (checklistcenter.com; verbatim-confirmed on DA Card World: "Release Date: July 28th, 2022") is roughly a week ahead of the wide hobby release (2022-08-05). Both are hobby-channel SKUs of the same product; release.csv records the wide release date. • G-003 sportscardchecklist.com lists "Holo Orange FOTL" and "Holo Platinum Swirl FOTL" as additional base parallels for this product. Five other sources describing the base parallel family in full (Panini's own blog description, checklistcenter.com product description, DA Card World's hobby-box listing, DA Card World's FOTL-box listing, cardsmithsbreaks.com) all omit both names. No eBay/marketplace listings could be found for a 2021-22-dated card in either name (only a 2020-21 "Orange FOTL" and an unrelated 2022-23 "Holo Orange" turned up). Treated as unverified/single-source and NOT added to parallels.csv. This leaves the specific identity of the "2 Bonus FOTL Parallels" that DA Card World's FOTL hobby box listing promises per box unconfirmed -- it is not established whether these are Orange/Swirl-named cards, extra pulls of the existing numbered tiers, or something else.
  • G-004 The per-set colour-tier breakdowns for the 11 insert sets (Gold, Platinum) and 9 autograph sets (mostly Blue/Gold/Green/Platinum/Purple/Red, three sets Gold/Green/Platinum only) come primarily from sportscardchecklist.com. tcdb.com independently corroborates only "All Systems Go" (Gold, Platinum) and partially "Called to Excellence Signatures" (Blue, Gold, Green, Platinum reached before the fetch truncated; Purple and Red not independently re-confirmed on tcdb). Card counts for all 20 insert/auto sets are 3-source-confirmed (cardsmithsbreaks.com, checklistcenter.com, sportscardchecklist.com all agree); only the colour lists themselves lean on the one source.
  • G-005 Holo Bronze is numbered to /299 in this release (4 sources agree: checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, the Panini blog description, DA Card World). The 2020-21 Recon sibling product's Holo Bronze was unnumbered. Logged for completeness as a legitimate season-over-season change, not a source conflict.
  • G-006 No retail, blaster, or mega SKU could be found for this release in any source searched (Steel City Collectibles, DA Card World, StockX, eBay); only hobby and FOTL-hobby boxes are documented. Treated as hobby-only, consistent with every other season of this line checked.
  • G-007 PARTIAL: 39 of the set's stated 40 cards written. tcdb renders the 40th row's card-number column as the literal token 'NNO' for BONES HYLAND, on BOTH the base page (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/321290/2021-22-Panini-Recon---True-Potential-Signatures) and the scarcest Platinum 1/1 parallel (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/321294/2021-22-Panini-Recon---True-Potential-Signatures-Platinum), so the parallel-page test does not resolve it. NNO is a catalogue convention, not a string printed on the card. https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/321290/2021-22-Panini-Recon---True-Potential-Signatures returned NO entries -- a real outcome, not a fetch failure. No clean marketplace listing carrying Bones Hyland's printed True Potential code could be found (the only eBay item pages reachable for this set's codes carry tcdb's '(AU, RC)' flag string and are circular; comc.com 403s). WITHHELD PLAYER NAMED: Bones Hyland, Denver Nuggets. His code was NOT derived from the TPS- suffix pattern, which would have been derivation, not evidence.
  • G-008 UNRESOLVED DUPLICATE PLAYER. Kevin Huerter (Atlanta Hawks) is rendered TWICE inside this 40-card set under two different codes, GS-KHH and GS-KHU. This is stable across three independent tcdb pages -- base sid 321244, Platinum 1/1 sid 321248, Red sid 321250 -- and is independently corroborated by https://www.checklistcenter.com/2021-22-panini-recon-basketball-card-checklist/, which also lists Kevin Huerter twice in a 40-card Glorified Signatures (under its own renumbered ordinals 12 and 38, both '#/249'), so the duplication is NOT a tcdb rendering artifact. Both rows are written verbatim and flagged. What is unresolved: which physical card each of the two codes belongs to, and whether one of them is an erroneous entry. Note GS-KHH shares its suffix with DGS-KHH (Kevin Huerter in Destined for Greatness Signatures) -- the spec's 'tcdb row carrying a sibling set's code' contamination shape could neither be confirmed nor ruled out here, because the prefix on both rows is correctly GS-. The set's row count matches sets.csv's 40 either way.
  • G-009 SINGLE-CATALOGUE DEPENDENCY ON CARD NUMBERS. Every letter code written for Called to Excellence Signatures, Claim to Fame Signatures, Destined for Greatness Signatures, Draft Night Acetate Signatures, Glorified Signatures, Jersey Autographs, Rookie Jersey Autographs, Rookie Recon Signatures and True Potential Signatures rests on tcdb.com alone (299 rows). Each set's codes were re-confirmed on that set's own scarcest Platinum 1/1 parallel page, and Rookie Recon Signatures additionally survived a narrow verbatim re-fetch returning sequential ViewCard cids 19307790-19307829 -- but a parallel page is the SAME catalogue, so this is internal consistency, not independent corroboration. NO independent marketplace confirmation of ANY prefix was obtainable for this release: every eBay /itm/ page fetched for a coded card carries tcdb's flag string (verified on https://www.ebay.com/itm/196337641416, whose free-text-looking title '2021-22 Panini Recon #TPS-TWF Trendon Watford True Potential Signatures' sits on a page whose related-search module reads '... #TPS-TWF (AU, RC)'), which makes it circular evidence; comc.com set indexes and card pages 403; no pristineauction.com, goldin.co or fanaticscollect.com lot could be found for any 2021-22 Recon autograph. The prefixes CES-, CFS-, DGS-, DNA-, GS-, JA-, RJA-, RRS-, TPS- should be treated as tcdb-attested rather than marketplace-attested.
  • G-010 CONTRADICTS EXISTING DATA / PARTIALLY RESOLVES G-003. tcdb catalogues TWELVE base parallels for this release at sids 321198-321209, two more than the ten in parallels.csv. The two extra sids are HOLO ORANGE FOTL (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/321204/, heading '2021-22 Panini Recon - Holo Orange FOTL', Total Cards 250) and HOLO PLATINUM SWIRL FOTL (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/321207/, heading '2021-22 Panini Recon - Holo Platinum Swirl FOTL', Total Cards 250). G-003 recorded exactly these two names as an UNVERIFIED SINGLE-SOURCE claim from sportscardchecklist.com that five other sources omit, and declined to add them; tcdb is a genuine second, independent source for both, and each carries the same 250-card scope as the ten accepted Holo tiers. This also offers a candidate identity for the '2 Bonus FOTL Parallels' that DA Card World's FOTL box listing promises, which G-003 left unresolved. NOT ACTED ON HERE -- parallels.csv is outside this agent's write scope. Flagged for the parallels owner to re-open G-003. Full block: 321198 Holo, 321199 Holo Blue, 321200 Holo Bronze, 321201 Holo Dots, 321202 Holo Gold, 321203 Holo Green, 321204 Holo Orange FOTL, 321205 Holo Pink, 321206 Holo Platinum, 321207 Holo Platinum Swirl FOTL, 321208 Holo Purple, 321209 Holo Red.
  • G-011 TECHNIQUE FAILURE WORTH CARRYING FORWARD. The 2020-21 Recon agent reported that tcdb 'ViewSet.cfm' header totals tracked rendered rows exactly on ~20 pages, making a cheap header-comparison sweep across parallel tiers the decisive technique. THAT DOES NOT HOLD ON 2021-22 RECON. https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/321248/ (Glorified Signatures Platinum) reports 'Total Cards 250' while the page renders 40 rows -- it is echoing the parent release's 250, not the subset's own count. https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/321296/ (True Potential Signatures Red) reports 39 where the base and Platinum tiers render 40. Header totals on this release's PARALLEL sids are therefore unusable as a completeness signal; every tier comparison in this run was made by counting rendered rows instead. Header totals on the twenty BASE subset sids were accurate in all twenty cases checked.
