- G-001 Editorial sources (cardboardconnection.com, checklistcenter.com, and an initial cardsmithsbreaks.com summary) state a "175-card base set" by folding the separately-named 25-card "Spectracular Debut" insert (numbered 151-175, continuing base numbering) into the base count - the same double-count trap documented in the 2019-20 sibling release. Resolved to base_set_size=150 using cardsmithsbreaks.com's own explicit Base/Base Variations/Base Spectracular Debut breakdown, corroborated by an independently-assembled 1-150 checklist from tcdb.com.
- G-002 Card count disagreement: tcdb.com and checklistcenter.com both give 26; cardsmithsbreaks.com gives 25. Recorded as 26 (2-source majority) in sets.csv.
- G-003 Card count disagreement: tcdb.com and checklistcenter.com both give 28; cardsmithsbreaks.com gives 26. Recorded as 28 (2-source majority) in sets.csv.
- G-004 All 10 Asia-channel base parallel print runs (Asia Base, Asia Black White, Asia Green, Asia Red, Asia Yellow Green /75, Asia Blue Orange /49, Asia Green Purple /25, Asia Gold /10, Asia Red Gold /8, Asia Black 1/1) are sourced only from checklistcenter.com's summarized text; tcdb.com's parallel-set index independently confirms 10 Asia sub-variants exist for this product but gives no print runs and names one sub-variant "Asia Red Yellow Green" as a single combined tier rather than checklistcenter's separate "Yellow Green #/75" and "Red" (unnumbered) - the naming does not perfectly reconcile between sources. Recorded as source_confidence=single in parallels.csv pending a second source that gives print runs. [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.] [REVIEWED 2026-08-19: still open; 66 of 85 parallels lack a sourced channel.]
- G-005 tcdb.com's global parallel-set index for this product lists "Nebula Logoman", "Blue Wave FOTL", "Gold Wave FOTL" and "Purple Wave FOTL" with a hedge note that Wave FOTL variants are "partial parallels for Rookie Jersey Autographs" (First Off The Line box exclusives, matching the pattern seen in the 2019-20 sibling release). Not enumerated in the sets.csv parenthesized parallel-tier list because exclusivity/scope to this specific set for 2020-21 is not confirmed by a second independent source.
- G-006 Unlike the 2019-20 Spectra release (which had an explicit Panini blog quote: "They're almost three times tougher to pull than the regular base cards"), no 2020-21 source found states short-print/rarity/odds wording for Base Variations specifically. Not tiered SSP/short-print in the scarcity pass for lack of evidence.
- G-007 No source found explicitly RC-designates any base card for this release. Cards ~101-150 visually correspond to the 2020 NBA draft rookie class (Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman, etc.), consistent with the veteran(1-100)/rookie(101-150) split explicitly stated by sources for the 2019-20 sibling release - but since no 2020-21 source explicitly labels this split or individual cards as RC, all base_cards.csv rows are recorded as rookie_flag=UNKNOWN per spec.
- G-008 tcdb.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com both show "Private Signings" issued as two separately-named 2-card versions ("Icon Version" and "Association Version"), each with its own Gold/Platinum parallel tier. Recorded in sets.csv as one combined 4-card "Private Signings" set (matching tcdb.com's own ViewSet-level summary and checklistcenter.com) rather than as two separate set rows - single-sourced (tcdb.com) for the two-version breakdown itself.
- G-009 blog.paniniamerica.net's "First Look" preview article is dated/posted 2021-08-11, ahead of the confirmed hobby release date of 2021-08-20 (agreed by cardboardconnection.com, tcdb.com, sportscollectorsdaily.com, dacardworld.com, steelcitycollectibles.com) - a pre-release preview post, not the ship date. Same pattern found in the 2019-20 sibling release.
- G-010 No numeric per-set or per-parallel pull odds were found anywhere for this product (Panini publishes no numeric odds for basketball). The only quantitative pack-level statistic found is a box-average configuration claim ("four autographs and four parallels per box on average" - dacardworld.com, steelcitycollectibles.com), which is a box-average, not a per-set/per-parallel pull rate, and was NOT recorded as stated_odds for any individual set or parallel.
- G-011 CONTRADICTS sets.csv AND gap G-002. sets.csv records card_count 26, and G-002 attributes that 26 to tcdb.com. As read on 2026-09-12, tcdb sid 279011 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/279011/2020-21-Panini-Spectra---Catalysts-Signatures) states "Total Cards: 25" and renders exactly 25 rows (CS-ABY ... CS-ZCL), i.e. rendered count equals stated total, so nothing is hidden by truncation. tcdb now AGREES with cardsmithsbreaks.com's 25 and the 2-source majority behind the 26 no longer holds. 25 rows written to insert_cards.csv. sets.csv NOT edited per spec. A third independent roster is needed to settle 25 vs 26.
- G-012 CONTRADICTS sets.csv AND gap G-003. sets.csv records card_count 28, and G-003 attributes that 28 to tcdb.com. As read on 2026-09-12, tcdb sid 279055 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/279055/2020-21-Panini-Spectra---In-The-Zone-Autographs) states "Total Cards: 26" and renders exactly 26 rows (ITZ-ANF ... ITZ-TPK), rendered count equal to stated total and the codes spanning A-T with no alphabetical dead stop, so this is not truncation. tcdb now AGREES with cardsmithsbreaks.com's 26. 26 rows written to insert_cards.csv. sets.csv NOT edited per spec. A third independent roster is needed to settle 26 vs 28.
- G-013 All 25 Base Variations card numbers carry a trailing 'b' (4b, 17b, ... 105b) sourced from tcdb's Errors/Variations page on the PARENT sid (https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/275888/2020-21-Panini-Spectra), each annotated "VAR: Letter 'V' on back of card; <colour> Uniform". The set has NO sid of its own. The 'b' is tcdb's disambiguator and is NOT established to be a character printed on the card: Gallery.cfm strips it and renders the row as a second plain #N (verified at https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/275888/2020-21-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=10 , which shows '79 / 79 VAR' both as #79). Written verbatim and not normalized; a resolver should expect both '4b' and '4' to refer to this card. Count reconciles exactly: 25 tokens vs card_count 25.
- G-014 Neither set has a tcdb sid. The 2020-21 Spectra insert/parallel block is 278980-279104, contiguous and complete (102 insert + 23 parallel = 125 sids; boundaries confirmed foreign - 278979 is '2017 Panini Flawless - Diamond' and 279105 is '2021 Panini Elements - Metal Cobalt'). Both sets are instead filed INSIDE the parent checklist, sid 275888: Spectracular Debut at 151-175 (rows flagged 'SD') and Rookie Jersey Autographs at 176-217 (rows flagged AU, MEM, RC, SN149/SN99). The parent's "Total Cards: 217" = 150 base + 25 + 42 exactly. NOTE FOR FUTURE PASSES: the parent's Total Cards does NOT count the 25 'b' variation rows, even though the page renders them - so 217 is a count of distinct numbers, not of rendered rows (242). Sources: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/275888/2020-21-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=2 and ?PageIndex=3 .
- G-015 tcdb renders card number 'ICO-DPY' for Gary Payton (Miami Heat) in Icons Autographs (sid 279033). The 'DPY' suffix does not fit Gary Payton's initials, and no player whose initials fit 'D' is missing from the set's 30 rows. A narrow verbatim re-fetch of https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/279033/2020-21-Panini-Spectra---Icons-Autographs returned the identical token with ViewCard cid 17162288, and the page's cids run strictly sequentially (17162282-17162311) in display order, which per spec disarms the cid-adjacency test - so nothing on the page settles whether this is a tcdb typo or a real code. Written verbatim per spec (never repair a prefix or suffix). Unresolved: a marketplace listing title showing the printed code would settle it. Note the same release prints 'IL-GPT' for Gary Payton in Illustrious Legends Signatures, but using that to reconstruct an Icons code would be derivation and was not done.
- G-016 Spectracular Debut's plain-integer numbering 151-175 is sourced from tcdb's parent checklist and galleries. The only independent corroboration found is https://www.sportscardspro.com/console/basketball-cards-2020-panini-spectra , which prices "LeBron James [Asia Red] #151" - a parallel of the same card, printing the same number, and matching tcdb's 151 LeBron James. That is one independent confirmation on one card, not a full second checklist. No free-text marketplace seller title carrying a Spectracular Debut number was located. Contrast Rookie Jersey Autographs, whose plain integers were corroborated on four cards by two sources independent of tcdb. Numbering is written as sourced; the corroboration breadth is recorded here.
