  • G-001 base_set_size disagreement: Panini's own blog (blog.paniniamerica.net, "Stars Align with 2022-23 Panini Spectra Basketball") states "The 245-card base set features 150 players, 50 rookies and 45 rookie jersey autograph cards", folding the entirely separate 45-card Rookie Jersey Autographs SET into the base count (150+50+45=245) - an aggressive variant of the "175-card" double-count trap documented in the 2019-20/2020-21/2021-22 Spectra siblings. tcdb.com independently shows a matching "245 Total Cards" aggregate figure on its set overview page (likely the same fold, or its own aggregate of base+variants). Resolved to 200 (150 base + 50 rookies, contiguous 1-200) using card-level checklist evidence cross-validated across checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com plus cardboardconnection.com's explicit "200 cards... Rookies: Cards 151-200" segmentation and an eBay listing showing card #155 under the Rookies heading.
  • G-002 release_date disagreement: Panini's own blog states "August 30, 2023" while checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, gogts.net, cardboardconnection.com and breakninja.com all independently agree on "September 6, 2023" / "Wednesday, September 6, 2023". Resolved to 2023-09-06 by 5-source majority; the blog date is treated as a likely preliminary/pre-order announcement date, matching the pattern of an early-date discrepancy already documented in the 2021-22 Spectra sibling.
  • G-003 Card count disagreement: cardsmithsbreaks.com and cardboardconnection.com both state 50 cards; checklistcenter.com states 49 cards in its per-set autograph listing (though its general set-breakdown listing elsewhere on the same domain is not fully consistent). Resolved to 50 in sets.csv by 2-source majority.
  • G-004 Card count disagreement: cardboardconnection.com and gogts.net state 24 cards; cardsmithsbreaks.com states 23 cards (consistent across two separate fetches of the same page); checklistcenter.com is internally inconsistent, giving 24 in its general set-breakdown listing and 23 in its per-set autograph parallel listing. Resolved to 24 in sets.csv by source-count lean; genuinely unresolved to full confidence.
  • G-005 The three "Wave FOTL" parallel tiers (Blue Wave FOTL #/30, Purple Wave FOTL #/8, Gold Wave FOTL #/3) are single-sourced to checklistcenter.com; no other source (cardsmithsbreaks.com, cardboardconnection.com, gogts.net, tcdb.com) lists them. Included in the sets.csv parallel-tier note per the precedent set by the 2021-22 Spectra sibling (which also single-sourced its Wave FOTL entries the same way), but not independently corroborated.
  • G-006 An eBay marketplace listing title ("2022-23 Panini Spectra - Solar Eclipse #20 LaMelo Ball - CASE HIT !!!") calls a Solar Eclipse card a case hit. Per project hard rules, eBay/marketplace listing copy is not accepted as scarcity evidence, and no editorial or manufacturer source corroborates a case-hit or SSP designation for Solar Eclipse. Deliberately NOT tiered in the scarcity pass; Solar Eclipse does not appear in scarcity_sets.csv.
  • G-007 No source found in this pass describes the visual finish or design pattern of the two new 2022-23 entry-level unnumbered base parallels (Menagerie, Psychedelic) beyond their names. visual_notes in parallels.csv is limited to naming/sourcing context, not a design description.
  • G-008 beckett.com/news pages for this product were expected to be blocked per the standing source notes for this project and were not used; checklistinsider.com was not reachable either. Neither was required given multi-source agreement elsewhere.
  • G-009 No "Spectracular"-named insert or "Base Variations" short-print subset was found by any source for 2022-23 (both existed in the 2019-20/2020-21/2021-22 Spectra siblings under various names). Treated as a genuine year-over-year lineup change (these subsets were dropped from the product this season) rather than a missed set, but recorded here since it departs from the sibling pattern.
  • G-010 Coverage: 49 of sets.csv card_count 50 written. tcdb's base page https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387504/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Aspiring-Autographs renders 46 rows against its own Total Cards 46; three separate parallel tiers each render an identical LARGER 49-code roster - Nebula https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387510/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Aspiring-Autographs-Nebula, Black Light https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387508/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Aspiring-Autographs-Black-Light and Green https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387509/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Aspiring-Autographs-Green - recovering AA-ANH (Andrew Nembhard), AA-PBW (Patrick Baldwin Jr.) and AA-PYW (Peyton Watson). No tcdb view of any tier reaches 50. This CONTRADICTS the 2-source-majority resolution recorded in G-003, and sides with checklistcenter.com's 49: four independent tcdb pages plus checklistcenter say 49, against cardsmithsbreaks.com and cardboardconnection.com at 50. sets.csv NOT edited (out of scope for this pass); the card_count 50 should be re-reviewed. No 50th player is named by any source reached, so no row is withheld for a known player - the shortfall is a count disagreement, not a missing identified card.
  • G-011 Coverage: 34 of sets.csv card_count 35 written. The 35th row is unwritable: tcdb renders the literal string "TBD" in the card-number column for SADDIQ BEY (Atlanta Hawks, flagged AU, EXCH) on all three tiers checked - base https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387533/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Deep-Space-Signatures, Astral https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387537/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Deep-Space-Signatures-Astral and Nebula https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387541/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Deep-Space-Signatures-Nebula. The parallel-page test therefore came back INCONCLUSIVE for this one card rather than recovering it. Per spec TBD is withheld, never written and never repaired to an ordinal; the player is named here so the roster survives. The set's other 34 codes are complete and the count otherwise reconciles - the Astral/Nebula tiers supplied DS-ARM (Austin Rivers), absent from the base page. Saddiq Bey's EXCH flag means this is a redemption/exchange card, which is the usual reason a code is unassigned at catalogue time.
  • G-012 Coverage: 23 of sets.csv card_count 24 written, and the evidence now leans against the 24. Three independent tcdb views all render exactly 23: base https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387524/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Colorgraphs (Total Cards 23), Nebula 1/1 tier https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387532/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Colorgraphs-Nebula (Total Cards 23, byte-identical roster) and the paginated gallery https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/387524/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Colorgraphs?PageIndex=3 (page 3 holds 3 cards, so 10+10+3=23 by page arithmetic). This ADDS a fourth and fifth voice to the 23 side of the disagreement recorded in G-004, which had resolved to 24 on a source-count lean the gap itself called "genuinely unresolved". No 24th player is named by any source reached, so no row is withheld for a known player. sets.csv NOT edited; card_count 24 should be re-reviewed.
  • G-013 Duplicate printed card number written deliberately, not an error: CG-SCY is rendered on TWO different players - Seth Curry (Brooklyn Nets, AU SN99) and Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors, AU SN75) - on both https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387524/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Colorgraphs and https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387532/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-Colorgraphs-Nebula. The suffix fits both players' initials, the duplication survives an independent second tier, and it is n=2 rather than the four-or-more shape that indicates a data-entry smear. Written verbatim on both rows per spec; chase_cards is unique on (set_id, card_number, player_name) so both load. Flagged here because a consumer keyed on (set, card_number) alone will see a collision.
  • G-014 RESOLVED FINDING, recorded because it corrects the reading in G-001. This set has NO sid of its own anywhere on tcdb - it is filed inside the PARENT release checklist (sid 376822) as a contiguous numbered block at 201-245, past the 200-card base run, every row flagged AU, MEM, RC. Source: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/376822/2022-23-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=3 renders all 45 rows with teams; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/376822/2022-23-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=21 through PageIndex=25 reproduce the identical block (last page holds 5 cards, so the block genuinely ENDS at 245 - read off the page, not computed from the header). The parent's stated Total Cards is 245 against base_set_size 200: the overshoot is exactly this set's card_count 45. CONSEQUENCE FOR G-001: Panini's blog figure "The 245-card base set features 150 players, 50 rookies and 45 rookie jersey autograph cards" and tcdb's matching 245 are NOT simply a double count - the Rookie Jersey Autographs cards really are printed as a continuation of the base numbering at 201-245, which is why both arrive at 245. base_set_size 200 remains correct for the base SET; the 245 is the printed numbering range of the release. NUMBERING CORROBORATED OFF-CATALOGUE, because plain integers on an autograph set demand it: the goldin.co lot page https://goldin.co/item/2022-23-panini-spectra-208-paolo-banchero-signed-rookie-card-07-35-panu5p3u is titled verbatim "2022-23 Panini Spectra Rookie Jersey Autographs Astral #208 Paolo Banchero Signed Patch Rookie Card (#07/35) - Panini Encased", matching tcdb's 208 Paolo Banchero. 45 of 45 written; count reconciles exactly.
  • G-015 tcdb endpoint defect worth recording for the next pass on this release. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/376822/2022-23-Panini-Spectra lists 93 insert sets + 19 parallel sets and OMITS TEN REAL SIDS in a single numeric gap: it jumps from Rookie Dual Patch Autographs Nebula (sid 387581) to Rookie Jersey Autographs Blue Wave FOTL (sid 387587), and again between 387590/387594, skipping 387582-387586, 387588-387589 and 387591-387593 - the entire Rookie Jersey Autographs parallel family except the five it does list. Probing the gap was what led to the set (see G-014), so the spec's "probe the numeric gaps, mandatory" rule fired correctly here. Two probes inside that gap, ViewSet.cfm on sid 387582 and on sid 387588 under valid Rookie-Jersey-Autographs slugs, both REDIRECTED TO THE tcdb HOMEPAGE rather than 404ing or rendering - consistent with the spec's "exists but renders no cards" reading, and in any case the set's real home is the parent checklist, not a subset sid. The un-probed sids in that gap are the remaining Rookie Jersey Autographs colour tiers and belong to parallels.csv, not to this pass.
  • G-016 Corroborates and strengthens G-009. Errors.cfm was run on the PARENT sid as required: https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/376822/2022-23-Panini-Spectra returns the page heading "2022-23 Panini Spectra" and the body text "No errors or variations have been added for this set yet." - zero variation records, zero UER records, zero per-row flag rows. There is therefore no hidden Base Variations / Photo Variations set for 2022-23 Spectra, and no set missing from sets.csv on that account. This is positive evidence for the year-over-year lineup change G-009 recorded on the absence of a source, rather than the mere absence of evidence. It also means this release supplied no UER annotations, so no suspected transposition could be adjudicated that way; no transposition-shaped row was withheld on this pass. [CORRECTED 2026-09-20: THE Errors.cfm SENTENCE QUOTED ABOVE IS NOT EVIDENCE AND THE CONCLUSION DRAWN FROM IT DOES NOT HOLD. Measured 2026-09-20 on tcdb sid 182809: Errors.cfm returns that identical sentence for a set whose own renderings carry UER on at least two cards (card 260 Mo Bamba, "UER: Statline says Undrafted, was actually drafted 6th", confirmed under &sort=0; card 67 Justin Jackson, "Career stat line is that of Kosta Koufos"). The endpoint returns the same string on a set that provably HAS errata and on one that appears not to, so it discriminates nothing and its silence is uninformative. WHAT SURVIVES: any claim here about base_set_size, about the base run being contiguous, or about no numbered block sitting past the base run, because those rest on the independent contiguous enumeration also cited in this note - the last rendered Gallery page, the empty page after it, and the per-row flag column. WHAT DOES NOT SURVIVE: the narrower claim that NO VARIATION SET EXISTS. A variation set renders as b-suffixed rows (101a/101b) that a base-run enumeration is not designed to surface, and Errors.cfm was the documented route to it, so that claim is now unsupported rather than disproved - it may still be true. Not re-fetched; recorded so it is not read as settled. See reference/caveats.csv CAV-020.]
  • G-017 Data-shape note on team_or_school, recorded so it is not later mistaken for corruption. RetroSpect Autographs is a two-era concept and tcdb renders TWO NBA teams per row separated by " / " (current team first, throwback team second) on 29 of its 30 rows - e.g. "RSA-ABG Andrew Bogut Golden State Warriors / Milwaukee Bucks" at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387569/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-RetroSpect-Autographs, confirmed byte-identically at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/387577/2022-23-Panini-Spectra-RetroSpect-Autographs-Nebula. The 30th row (RSA-UHS Udonis Haslem) renders a single team. The value is transcribed VERBATIM: picking one of the two teams would be a guess, and emptying the field would discard sourced data. A team resolver keyed on a single NBA team name will not match these 29 values. The same shape applies to Rookie Dual Patch Autographs, where both player_name and team_or_school carry two signers separated by " / " as the source prints them.
  • G-018 Prefix map for this release, recorded because nine similarly-named autograph sets ship together and none of the prefixes is predictable from the set name: Aspiring Autographs AA-, Catalysts Signatures CSA- (not CS-), Colorgraphs CG-, Deep Space Signatures DS-, Icons Autographs IA-, Illustrious Legends Signatures ILS-, Radiant Signatures RS-, RetroSpect Autographs RSA-, Sky High Signatures SKY-, Rookie Dual Patch Autographs RDA-, and Rookie Jersey Autographs no prefix at all (plain 201-245). RS- and RSA- are different sets; CSA- and CG- are different sets. Suffixes COLLIDE ACROSS SETS on different players: AA-MAX is Max Christie while CSA-MAX is Max Strus; ILS-DFS is Detlef Schrempf while SKY-DFS is Dorian Finney-Smith; RSA-TIM is Tim Hardaway Jr. while ILS-TIM is Tim Hardaway. Suffixes are frequently NOT the player's initials - DS-CIB is Goran Dragic, DS-KAH is Dikembe Mutombo, DS-WAB is Grayson Allen, IA-AIL is Gail Goodrich, IA-ZIE is Cazzie Russell, RS-TTI is Scottie Barnes. Every code was transcribed verbatim from the set's own page and none was reconstructed. (set_name, card_number) is not a safe key across this release.
  • G-019 Per-release source calibration for 2022-23 Spectra, recorded because the spec requires it be re-run every season. tcdb.com PASSES on this release's coded autograph sets: four free-text eBay seller titles independently reproduce tcdb's codes card-for-card - https://www.ebay.com/itm/257029638239 ("2022 Panini Spectra Deep Space Signatures /99 Patrick Mills Patty #DS-PMB Auto"), https://www.ebay.com/itm/186177030715 ("Herbert Jones 2022-23 Panini Spectra Deep Space Auto /99 Prizm Case Hit #DS-HEB"), https://www.ebay.com/itm/225875965088 ("Austin Rivers 2022-23 Spectra Auto Deep Space #DS-ARM Serial #d 3/5 Timberwolves") and https://www.ebay.com/itm/235895839500 ("Panini 2022-23 Spectra NBA Basketball No. DS-RPB Robert Parish Auto 49/49 Deep"). CONTAMINATION FOUND AND AVOIDED on the same release: eBay CATALOGUE (/p/) pages for this product carry the real prefix bolted onto a placeholder ordinal - https://www.ebay.com/p/13062592842 reads "Deep Space Signatures Rudy Gobert #DS-22 Astral Prizm /49" and https://www.ebay.com/itm/398174624839 reads "Deep Space Signatures Jaren Jackson Jr Auto #DS-13/99", where the printed codes are DS-RGT and DS-JJJ. That is the documented prefix-plus-ordinal shape and it appears on an /itm/ page as well as a /p/ page here, so on this release an /itm/ URL alone is not clearance - the title has to carry a full letter suffix. No card_number on this pass was taken from any /p/ page or from any aggregator (checklistcenter, cardsmithsbreaks, cardboardconnection, beckett); those were used only for counts already in sets.csv. cardsmithsbreaks.com's full-checklist page did not render its set sections through the fetch tool on this run and supplied nothing.
  • G-020 Endpoint behaviour on this release that CONTRADICTS the standing guidance in CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC, recorded so the next agent does not pay for it twice. (1) The spec states that Checklist.cfm?PageIndex "usually redirects to the homepage" and that Gallery.cfm is the pagination to trust. On this release the opposite held on the PARENT sid: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/376822/2022-23-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=3 paginated cleanly at 100 rows per page and returned the ENTIRE 201-245 Rookie Jersey Autographs block - 45 rows WITH TEAMS - in a single fetch, replacing the five Gallery.cfm fetches (PageIndex 21-25) that had been needed to read the same block without teams. Gallery.cfm rendered no team column at all here, which is one more data point for the spec's explicitly unresolved "does Gallery render team" question. (2) ViewSet.cfm did NOT truncate anywhere on this release: on all 20 subset pages fetched the rendered row count equalled the page's own stated Total Cards exactly, including a 49-row page - so the briefing's expectation that the 50- and 45-card sets would need Gallery.cfm paging did not materialise. The row-count-versus-stated-total check was still run on every set, however small, and is what would have caught it. (3) Where tcdb pages disagreed with each other it was never truncation but genuine non-nested tier scope: base pages were SHORT of their own parallels on three sets (Aspiring 46 vs 49, Illustrious Legends 23 vs 25, Sky High 32 vs 35), and on Sky High and Illustrious Legends the SCARCEST tier was the most complete.
