Base set parallels · not documented
No base-set parallel has a row in the catalogue yet. That is not a claim that none exist — this release's open questions record what is known about its parallels and why it is not yet expressible as a row.

- G-001 cardboardconnection.com's own AI-summarized fetch stated total base set size as 620 cards, and a separate summarized fetch of cardsmithsbreaks.com stated 595 cards; both totals directly contradict the same sources' own listed per-block card counts, which sum to 650 in both cases, and contradict tcdb.com's explicit statement that the set totals 650 cards. Treated the 650 figure as correct (three independent block-count derivations plus tcdb's stated total all agree); the 620/595 totals are logged here as unresolved artifacts rather than silently discarded.
- G-002 checklistcenter.com splits 'Ascension Autographs' into a 7-card base tier plus a 24-card 'Gold' tier, and 'Vertex Signatures' into a 14-card base tier plus a 25-card 'Gold' tier, while cardboardconnection.com gives a single card count for each (24 and 25 respectively) with no base/gold split mentioned. Recorded cardboardconnection.com's single counts in sets.csv per the spec's single-count-per-set shape; the checklistcenter.com tier split was not incorporated to avoid inventing a subdivision the primary source does not describe.
- G-003 The Titanium Draft Position block (cards 436-470) numbers each base card to that specific player's own 2022 NBA draft position (e.g. Paolo Banchero #/1, Chet Holmgren #/2, Jaden Ivey #/5) rather than a single block-wide print run - confirmed verbatim on cardboardconnection.com and corroborated by checklistcenter.com ('Serial Numbered as Noted'). Additionally the block's own parallel line reads 'Jersey Number #/35 or less, Draft Year #/22' - the Jersey Number parallel is ALSO a per-card variable print run (each card numbered to that player's own jersey number), a second instance of the same unrepresentable pattern. Our schema has no field for a per-card variable print run. base_card_tiers.csv records the base block with print_run=UNKNOWN and an evidence_quote describing the real per-player scheme; parallels.csv omits the Jersey Number parallel entirely (only the fixed-number Draft Year /22 parallel is recorded) rather than inventing a single number for either.
- G-004 cardboardconnection.com's ASIA PARALLELS line appears identically under 16 blocks including Donruss Rated Rookie (Chronicles, Prestige, Pinnacle, Absolute, Luminance, Vertex, Donruss Rated Rookie, Essentials, Marquee, XR, Prizm Update, Donruss Optic Traded, Dynagon, Score Premium, Phoenix, Hoops Premium Stock); a second fetch of checklistcenter.com's Asia-parallel mentions returned the same 15 blocks but omitted Donruss Rated Rookie. Could not confirm from checklistcenter.com's raw text whether this is a genuine exclusion (Donruss Rated Rookie has no Asia parallels) or an incomplete extraction of a longer page. Used cardboardconnection.com's fuller 16-block list for the Asia parallel rows in parallels.csv.
- G-005 No source found that states which physical channel (US hobby, US retail, or a distinct Asia-market release) the 'Asia' parallel family (Base Asia, Lava, Red /48, Jade /18, Gold /8, Lucky Envelopes /8, Red & Gold /3) actually ships in. Recorded channel=UNKNOWN for all seven Asia parallel rows rather than guessing 'retail'. - G-006 No manufacturer-stated numeric pull odds (e.g. '1:X packs', 'X per case') were found for any autograph set or base parallel in this product across cardboardconnection.com, checklistcenter.com, beckett.com (403), steelcitycollectibles.com, dacardworld.com, or paniniamerica.net. The only quantified claim found was a box-level guarantee ('Look for 2 autographs per box on average' - steelcitycollectibles.com; 'Each Hobby Box contains 2 Autographs per box!' - dacardworld.com), which is a per-box average across ALL autograph sets combined, not odds for any single named set or parallel, so it could not be mapped to a specific set_name/parallel_name row per the spec. All three scarcity output files are therefore empty except for headers, consistent with Panini's known practice of not publishing numeric odds sheets for basketball.
- G-007 Some parallels in this release are known from sources to apply to only SOME sub-brand blocks, but the captured note was too vague to resolve to a validated block list. Those rows carry scope_type=UNKNOWN, which means the scope was not recorded - NOT that the parallel spans the whole base set.

- G-022 Ascension Autographs is 24 cards per sets.csv and tcdb renders exactly 24 rows on both its Gold (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/386745/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Ascension-Autographs-Gold) and Platinum (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/375948/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Ascension-Autographs-Platinum) pages, but FOUR of those rows carry the literal placeholder string 'TBD' in the card-number column instead of a code. 20 coded rows were written; the four withheld players are Alperen Sengun (Houston Rockets), Bruce Brown (Denver Nuggets), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Denver Nuggets) and Terance Mann (Los Angeles Clippers). All four are confirmed members of the set by https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2022-23-panini-chronicles-basketball-nba-cards, which renumbers this coded set 1..24 and therefore cannot supply their printed codes. https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/386745/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Ascension-Autographs-Gold returned no entries. Reconstructing the codes from the AA- suffix pattern would be derivation, not sourcing, so the rows are withheld.
- G-023 Vertex Signatures is 25 cards per sets.csv and tcdb renders exactly 25 rows on both its Gold (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/375950/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Vertex-Signatures-Gold) and Platinum (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/375951/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Vertex-Signatures-Platinum) pages, but FIVE of those rows carry the literal placeholder string 'TBD' in the card-number column. 20 coded rows were written; the five withheld players are Austin Rivers (Minnesota Timberwolves), Mark Aguirre (Dallas Mavericks), Max Strus (Miami Heat), Mehmet Okur (Utah Jazz) and Wally Szczerbiak (Minnesota Timberwolves). All five are confirmed members of the set by https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2022-23-panini-chronicles-basketball-nba-cards (roster only; it renumbers the set 1..25).
- G-024 New Kids on the Court Autographs is 25 cards per sets.csv and tcdb renders exactly 25 rows on both its Gold (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/480834/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-New-Kids-on-the-Court-Autographs-Gold) and Platinum (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/480835/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-New-Kids-on-the-Court-Autographs-Platinum) pages, but FOUR carry the literal placeholder string 'TBD'. 21 coded rows were written; the four withheld players are Isaiah Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jabari Walker (Portland Trail Blazers), Kenneth Lofton Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies) and Ochai Agbaji (Utah Jazz). All four are confirmed members of the set by https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2022-23-panini-chronicles-basketball-nba-cards (roster only). The TBD tokens were re-fetched verbatim through a second valid slug and came back as the literal string 'TBD', not as a truncation artefact.
- G-025 Daishen Nix (Houston Rockets) is the one card missing from BOTH of these 40-card sets. In Hometown Heroes Rookie Autographs he appears only on the Red tier (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/382487/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Hometown-Heroes-Rookie-Autographs-Red) and the Asia Jade tier (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/401904/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Hometown-Heroes-Rookie-Autographs-Asia-Jade), which are the only two pages that render all 40 rows; in Phoenix Rookie Autographs he appears on https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/401873/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Phoenix-Rookie-Autographs-Asia-Jade and /401874/ Asia Red and Gold. On every one of those four pages his card-number cell is the literal placeholder string 'TBD', so both rows are withheld: 39 coded rows were written for each set against a stated card_count of 40.
- G-026 Under the Lights Autographs is 40 cards per sets.csv. No single tcdb page renders all 40 and no page is a superset of any other: base/Gold/Black/Silver/Purple/Swirl render 36 identical rows, https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/396625/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Under-the-Lights-Autographs-Asia-Jade and /396626/ Asia Red and Gold render 38 (adding ULA-BBM Boban Marjanovic and a TBD row for Al Horford), and https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/396630/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Under-the-Lights-Autographs-Red renders 38 (adding ULA-TIM Tim Hardaway and a TBD row for Saddiq Bey). The union is 38 coded rows, all written, plus two rows whose card-number cell is the literal placeholder string 'TBD': Al Horford (Boston Celtics) and Saddiq Bey (Atlanta Hawks). Those two are withheld. Note that neither TBD row is a bare ordinal, so the aggregator-slot test that settled 2020-21 Chronicles' placeholders could not be run on this release - the placeholder shape here is the literal token 'TBD' throughout.
- G-027 Portrait Signatures is 39 cards per sets.csv. tcdb's base page renders 37 and its Gold/Platinum/Red tiers render 38; only the two Asia tiers (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/399821/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Portrait-Signatures-Asia-Jade and https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/399820/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Portrait-Signatures-Asia-Gold) render 39. On BOTH of those pages the 39th row - Malcolm Brogdon (Boston Celtics) - has a card-number cell that reads the bare truncated token 'PS-' with no suffix at all. Re-fetched verbatim through a third valid slug, it came back character-for-character as 'PS-'. That is not a printed card number, so the row is withheld and the player named here. 38 coded rows were written. Separately logged as an open question and deliberately NOT repaired: the written row PS-CDR is Goran Dragic, whose name does not fit the set's own suffix generator; it is recorded verbatim as tcdb prints it on six independent tier pages.
- G-028 Two genuine duplicate card_numbers were written verbatim and flagged in their notes rather than dropped, per the spec's (set_id, card_number, player_name) uniqueness rule. (1) Hometown Heroes Rookie Autographs prints HHR-JWT on both Jabari Walker (Portland Trail Blazers) and Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder), on all five tcdb tier pages. The cid-adjacency test could NOT fire: every one of those pages renders its cids strictly sequentially in display order (23340406/23340407 base, 23340579/23340580 Gold, 23340622/23340623 Platinum, 23340708/23340709 Red, 23340493/23340494 Asia Jade), so adjacency carries no information. Both suffixes fit the set's own first-initial/last-initial/team-letter generator (Walker-Trail Blazers, Williams-Thunder) and sets.csv's stated 40 is reached only if both rows are real plus the withheld Daishen Nix TBD row. Ambiguous, therefore both written and flagged, never guessed. (2) Rookie Cornerstones prints RCS-PBC on both Paolo Banchero (Orlando Magic) and Patrick Baldwin Jr. (Golden State Warriors). Here the cid-adjacency test IS armed - the pages' cids are non-monotonic in display order - and it returns NON-ADJACENT on both tiers (23621700 vs 23621727 on the base page, 23621826 vs 23621853 on Onyx), the signature of a real initials collision rather than a copy-down smear.
- G-029 tcdb Inserts.cfm for parent sid 372359 (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/372359/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Basketball) lists 95 insert sids. Two of those (462410 Titanium Draft Year, 462411 Titanium Jersey Number) are base-block parallels of the Titanium Draft Position block, leaving 93 sids for the 14 autograph sets = 14 base pages + 79 parallel tiers. parallels.csv currently carries 72 tiers for those 14 sets, so OUR side is short by exactly SEVEN, and the arithmetic balances once they are added. The seven tcdb sids with no parallels.csv row are: 386745 Ascension Autographs Gold; 401895 Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs Super Prime; 406126 Limited Rookie Jersey Autographs Super Prime; 401874 Phoenix Rookie Autographs Asia Red and Gold; 406129 Score Premium Signatures Asia Red and Gold; 396626 Under the Lights Autographs Asia Red and Gold; 375950 Vertex Signatures Gold. Note that sets.csv's OWN notes already name 'Super Prime' for the two Rookie Jersey sets and 'Asia Red & Gold' for the three Silver/Black-family sets, so five of the seven are documented in our own data but missing from parallels.csv. parallels.csv was NOT edited - this is reported for a parallel-pass owner. Also noted: tcdb names Rookie Cornerstones' two Asia tiers plainly 'Jade' (375955) and 'Gold' (375956) where parallels.csv calls them 'Asia Jade' and 'Asia Gold'; that is a naming question, not a count discrepancy.
- G-030 G-002 records that checklistcenter.com splits Ascension Autographs into a 7-card base tier plus a 24-card Gold tier, and Vertex Signatures into a 14-card base tier plus a 25-card Gold tier, while cardboardconnection.com gives single counts of 24 and 25. tcdb independently reproduces exactly that split: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/375946/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Ascension-Autographs renders 7 rows with header 'Total Cards: 7' while its Gold page renders 24, and https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/375949/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Vertex-Signatures renders 14 rows with header 'Total Cards: 14' while its Gold page renders 25. A second source now supports the subdivision. For the checklist fill this was treated as a RECOVERY case rather than parallel scope, because sets.csv (built from cardboardconnection, independent of tcdb) states 24 and 25 and cardboardconnection's own rosters match the 24-row and 25-row pages name-for-name. sets.csv was NOT edited; the base/Gold subdivision question stays open for a set-structure owner.
- G-031 Cards resting on a SINGLE tcdb page, logged per the spec: LIA-GTJ Gary Trent Jr. (Luminance Ink Autographs) appears only on https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/401883/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Luminance-Ink-Autographs-Asia-Jade, the set's only 10-row page; SPS-MOB Mo Bamba (Score Premium Signatures) appears only on https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/406128/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Score-Premium-Signatures-Asia-Jade, the set's only 20-row page; ULA-TIM Tim Hardaway (Under the Lights Autographs) appears only on https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/396630/2022-23-Panini-Chronicles-Under-the-Lights-Autographs-Red. Each of the three completes its set to the card_count sets.csv independently states, and each player is confirmed to be in the set by https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2022-23-panini-chronicles-basketball-nba-cards, but the CODE itself has one source only. Two-page-only cards, weaker but not single-source: ULA-BBM Boban Marjanovic and PRA-ISM Isaiah Mobley (Asia Jade + Asia Red and Gold), NKC-BCH Bryce McGowens (Gold + Platinum), PS-JWM James Wiseman (recovered off the base page).
- G-032 Source verdicts for this release, recorded so a later pass does not have to re-earn them. tcdb Checklist.cfm: PASS and effectively the only viable card_number source; no slug-retry truncation was observed on any of the 30 pages fetched, and every rendered row count matched that page's own 'Total Cards' header. cardboardconnection.com: FAILS on numbers (renders every coded autograph set as 1..N) and is DECISIVE on rosters (its Ascension 24, Vertex 25 and New Kids 25 rosters match tcdb's parallel pages name-for-name). sportscardspro.com: PASSES the coded-scheme calibration this season - https://www.sportscardspro.com/console/basketball-cards-2022-panini-chronicles-hometown-heroes-rookie-autographs?sort=model-number prints real HHR- codes - but it renders only 5 rows and agrees with tcdb exactly, so it is treated as shared-upstream, not independent corroboration; it also renders one token lower-case ('hhr-odt') where tcdb renders 'HHR-ODT'. gemrate.com PSA population pages: independent of tcdb (PSA cert labels) and corroborate the coded scheme, rendering 'NKCSAL' for Scotty Pippen Jr. in New Kids on the Court Autographs. eBay: WHOLLY tcdb-SEEDED on this release - every /p/ and /itm/ page reached carried tcdb's flag strings, e.g. https://www.ebay.de/itm/177125228220 titles the card '2022-23 Panini Chronicles - Vertex Signatures Kwame Brown #VS-KWB (AU)' with '(AU' repeated in its meta description. whatnot.com: NO 2022-23 Chronicles listings found (the only Chronicles hit was a 2021 HHR-ARM card). psacard.com auction prices: 302-redirects to a sign-in wall. tcdb Errors.cfm: NO ENTRIES on every sid tried, a fourth consecutive season. CROSS-PRODUCT CONTAMINATION CAUGHT AND EXCLUDED, none of it written: 2022-23 Panini Chronicles DRAFT PICKS carries same-named sets with different prefixes - 'Limited Rookie Jersey Autographs Jake LaRavia #LM-JLR Prime /25' (LM- vs our LRJ-) and 'Chronicles Draft Picks Johnny Davis GS-JDA' (GS- vs our GSJ-); 2022-23 Panini Crown Royale prints '#RCA-PBC' for Paolo Banchero, one letter from our Rookie Cornerstones RCS-PBC; and Panini also ships 2022 Chronicles UFC and 2022-23 Chronicles soccer, both of which surface on name-keyed searches. Every sid used here was confirmed to sit under parent sid 372359 '2022-23 Panini Chronicles' (header 'Total Cards: 650'), and every search was filtered on a player plus 'Chronicles', never on a set name.
