- G-001 RELEASE DATE IS SINGLE-SOURCED. 2017-12-06 rests on cardboardconnection alone, which prints "Release Date: 12/06/2017" unqualified - not labelled an estimate - at https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards. No second lineage was reachable: beckett.com 302-redirects to https://maintenance.beckett.com/ even on its own 2017-18 Court Kings news article (https://www.beckett.com/news/expect-find-cardboard-works-art-2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball/), and a WebSearch for a checklistcenter.com page for this product surfaced none. Per CAV-037 the checklistcenter result is a search-surface absence and NOT an absence claim; no constructed URL was tried. tcdb carries no release date. The 2017-18 scope memo records the same figure from the same lineage, so the memo is not an independent second source.
- G-002 CONVENTION DIVERGENCE FROM SEVEN SIBLING SEASONS, DELIBERATE AND FLAGGED. This release records base_print_run=unnumbered with base_print_run_basis=assumed. All seven built Court Kings seasons record base_print_run=UNKNOWN with basis=UNKNOWN: courtkings-bkb-2018-19 (232 cards), 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 (199 each) and 2024-25 (265). Two of those, 2019-20 and 2020-21, carry dated DEMOTED markers dated 2026-08-19 explaining that they were changed FROM unnumbered TO UNKNOWN for comparability, on the ground that their evidence was only the absence of a figure in aggregator listings. The evidence here is different and stronger: EXTRACTION_SPEC section 2.1 names this exact shape - a renderer printing a serial flag on every parallel row and none on any base row - and prescribes unnumbered with basis=assumed. tcdb sid 160147 renders no serial token on any of 232 rows across Checklist.cfm pages 1, 2 and 3 and Gallery.cfm pages 8, 9, 10, 18, 19 and 20, while its own base parallels render SN25 on all 100 rows (sid 163945) and SN1 on all 100 rows (sid 163946). A repair pass should decide whether the eight seasons move together and in which direction; nothing here was changed in another release directory.
- G-003 THE TIER FILE AND THE RELEASE ROW DISAGREE BY DESIGN, AND THE SCHEMA IS WHY. release.csv records base_print_run=unnumbered/assumed while all five rows of base_card_tiers.csv record print_run=UNKNOWN and serial_numbered=UNKNOWN. The reason is that base_card_tiers.csv has no basis column: writing unnumbered there would assert an inference as a sourced fact with no way to label it, and COURT_KINGS_TIER_ADDENDUM requires a short verbatim snippet proving a tier print run, which no source provides. No source states a print run, or states that no serial number is printed, for any of Base Set, Rookie I, Rookie II, Rookie III or Rookie IV. The underlying need is a print_run_basis column on base_card_tiers, the same expressiveness gap EXTRACTION_SPEC section 6 records for parallels.
- G-004 FIVE TIERS HAVE A PER-CARD VARIABLE PRINT RUN, WHICH THE SCHEMA CANNOT EXPRESS. Three are parallel rows, written print_run=UNKNOWN / serial_numbered=UNKNOWN even though every row is PROVABLY serial numbered; the other two are whole SETS, and sets.csv has no print-run column at all, so the finding lives only here and in their notes. Censuses taken row by row, not sampled. The SET Sketches and Swatches carries NINETEEN distinct tokens across 38 rows (SN299 x13, SN399 x6, SN49 x2, SN99 x2, and SN60, SN78, SN85, SN146, SN152, SN169, SN186, SN192, SN199, SN200, SN243, SN282, SN314, SN344, SN363 x1 each) at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163905/Court-Kings-2017-18-Panini?sort=0 ; the SET Performance Art Jerseys carries SN299 x12 plus SN99, SN149 and SN85 across 15 rows at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163920/Court-Kings-Performance-Art-Jerseys-2017-18?sort=0 ; Artistic Endeavors Prime carries SN25 x33, SN2 x10, SN4 x1, SN17 x1 across 45 rows at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163936/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Artistic-Endeavors-Prime ; Performance Art Jerseys Prime carries SN25 x12 plus SN16, SN12 and SN15 across 15 rows at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163922/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Performance-Art-Jerseys-Prime ; Art Nouveau Jumbo Nameplate carries SN7 x8, SN5 x8, SN8 x5, SN4 x5, SN6 x3, SN9 x2 across 30 rows at https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163943/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Art-Nouveau-Jumbo-Nameplate . Two of these are set-level facts that sets.csv also cannot hold. Sketches and Swatches Prime is NOT variable (SN10 on all 40 rows). The variable rate among tiers that bear a serial token at all is 5 of 31, about 16 percent - measured on this parent only and not a season figure.
- G-005 COUNT DISAGREEMENT RESOLVED AS A UNIT QUESTION, RECORDED RATHER THAN SMOOTHED. cardboardconnection states "100 cards. Serial numbered #/175." for Portraits (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). tcdb gives TWO sids: Portraits states Total Cards 70 and renders 70 rows numbered 1-70, all SN175 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163914/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Portraits), and Rookie Portraits states Total Cards 30 and renders 30 rows numbered 1-30, all SN175 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163908/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Rookie-Portraits). 70 + 30 = 100 exactly and both carry the identical SN175 token, so cardboardconnection is counting the two tcdb sets as one product line, not disagreeing about a size. The rendered row counts are written. cardboardconnection names no Rookie Portraits parallels, so its Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Masterpiece figures corroborate the four Rookie Portraits parallel runs only through that same combined unit.
- G-006 SET-VERSUS-PARALLEL DISAGREEMENT ON ART NOUVEAU JUMBO, decided against cardboardconnection and recorded. cardboardconnection files it as a parallel of Art Nouveau ("Jumbo #/99", https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). It is written here as an insert set because tcdb gives it its own sid, its own ANJ- card-number prefix distinct from Art Nouveau's AN-, and a roster of 34 against Art Nouveau's 35 (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163941/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Art-Nouveau-Jumbo) - a parallel prints the same card number as its base card, and this does not. The converse call was made for Art Nouveau Jumbo Nameplate, which DOES print ANJ- numbers and is written as a parallel even though tcdb lists it under its Insert Sets heading. That heading is not a set/parallel discriminator on this parent: Portraits Ruby, Rookie Portraits Sapphire and the Masterpiece tiers all sit under it too (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/160147/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings). Only the two BASE-set parallels sit under the Parallel Sets heading.
- G-007 SET-WIDE PRINT RUNS CANNOT BE HELD BY sets.csv AND ARE RECORDED HERE IN WORDS. sets.csv has no print_run column, and EXTRACTION_SPEC section 2.2 forbids putting the figure in card_count. Every row of the following sets carries one uniform serial token on tcdb: Artistic Endeavors SN299 (45 rows), Art Nouveau Jumbo SN99 (34 rows), Portraits SN175 (70 rows), Rookie Portraits SN175 (30 rows), Fresh Paint II SN200 (29 rows), Fresh Paint III SN100 (29 rows), Fresh Paint Duals SN50 (5 rows), Heir Apparent SN75 (5 rows). cardboardconnection independently states #/299, #/99, #/175, #/200, #/100, #/50 and #/75 for the same sets (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). None of these is a parallel tier, so none belongs in parallels.csv. Three sets are positively evidenced as carrying NO serial token - Art Nouveau (35 rows, MEM only) and Fresh Paint I (30 rows, AU only) - by a discriminative split on the same endpoint against their own numbered siblings.
- G-008 BOX TOPPER AUTOGRAPHS RENDERED SHORT AND MIXES TWO CARD-NUMBER SHAPES. tcdb states Total Cards 25 and only 20 rows came back through the fetch layer, and the rendered card-number column mixes letter codes ("BT-KIR") with at least one bare ordinal ("25") (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/163930/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings-Box-Topper-Autographs). card_count 25 is written on the header plus cardboardconnection's independent "25 cards." (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). The mixed-token question belongs to the chase pass under CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC and no insert_cards.csv was written here; flagged so that pass knows the base page is a mixed-code/bare-ordinal page before it starts.
- G-009 FOUR PARALLEL TIERS RENDER MORE ROWS THAN THE SET THEY PARALLEL. Art Nouveau Jumbo states Total Cards 34 while its Sapphire and Masterpiece tiers each state 35 and render 35 (sids 163944 and 163942); Sketches and Swatches states 38 while its Prime and Masterpiece tiers each state 40 and render 40 (sids 163906 and 163907). Under CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC the discriminator between a short base page and parallel-only scope is an independent roster, and none was available: cardboardconnection gives "35 cards." for Art Nouveau and "38 cards." for Sketches and Swatches but says nothing about these tiers' rosters (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards), and it is the source whose own count for Art Nouveau Jumbo is absent entirely. card_count is written from each set's own page; the extra rows are neither written nor explained.
- G-010 FRESH PAINT FAMILY COUNT DISAGREES BY ONE. tcdb gives three sids stating Total Cards 30, 29 and 29 for Fresh Paint I, II and III, summing to 88; cardboardconnection states "87 cards." for a single "Fresh Paint Autographs" entry covering the same three tiers (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). The per-sid rendered row counts were 30, 29 and 29, counted by this agent, so the individual figures are written and the one-card discrepancy is unresolved. It may be that cardboardconnection is counting something else, as it demonstrably is for Portraits - see G-005.
- G-011 NO VARIATION LAYER WAS RULED OUT, AND Errors.cfm CANNOT RULE ONE OUT. https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/160147/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings returns "No errors or variations have been added for this set yet." Per CAV-020 that sentence is returned identically on sets that provably DO carry UER rows, so it discriminates nothing and is quoted here as a row, not as evidence of absence. What does survive independently: the base run is contiguous 1-232 with no unissued number and no b-suffixed row seen, established by a full enumeration across Checklist.cfm pages 1-3 and Gallery.cfm pages 8, 9, 10, 18, 19 and 20 whose overlaps agree row for row. Gallery.cfm strips a b suffix, so a duplicate-number variation row would not have surfaced there; the Checklist.cfm pages that did render showed none. The 2018-19 Court Kings parent was NOT checked for a 2017-18 Update block (EXTRACTION_SPEC section 5.5 mirror); with no unissued number to explain, nothing depends on it here.
- G-012 CHANNEL IS UNKNOWN ON ALL 21 PARALLEL ROWS AND channel_basis IS EMPTY ON ALL 21, WHICH IS THE SCHEMA SAYING THERE IS NO CHANNEL FOR A BASIS TO DESCRIBE. No source read states a trade channel, box SKU or region for any tier of this release. cardboardconnection gives only a product configuration, "10 cards per pack, 1 pack per box, 16 boxes per case" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards), which is a box format and not a channel, and tcdb carries no channel note on any of the 42 sids. Note that courtkings-bkb-2018-19 has an International tier recorded channel=blaster; 2017-18 has no International tier at all - tcdb's Parallel Sets section for this parent lists exactly two members, Sapphire and Masterpiece (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/160147/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings) - so nothing was carried across the season boundary.
- G-013 TIER NAMES ARE SINGULAR HERE AND PLURAL IN THE SIBLING SEASONS, AND THE SOURCES DISAGREE WITH EACH OTHER. tcdb renders the subset label inline on every row from 101 up as "Rookie I", "Rookie II", "Rookie III" and "Rookie IV", confirmed on two differently-parameterised fetches of https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/160147/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings?PageIndex=2 (default sort and ?sort=0). cardboardconnection writes the plural in prose: "starting with Rookies I and going up to Rookies IV" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-court-kings-basketball-cards). base_card_tiers.csv and base_cards.csv follow tcdb because it is the source that prints a per-card label rather than describing the product. Every other built Court Kings season uses the plural form, so a resolver keyed on tier_name across seasons will miss this one. Nothing was renamed to match a sibling.
- G-014 INSERT AND AUTOGRAPH CARD-LEVEL CHECKLISTS ARE NOT WRITTEN. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC, insert_cards.csv is a separate pass under CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC and no insert_cards.csv exists in this directory. The 21 non-base sets in sets.csv have sourced names and counts but no card lists. Useful starting facts for that pass, all read in this one: the sid block is 163905-163946 with both boundaries proved foreign (163904 is "1888 Allen & Ginter World's Smokers (N33)", 163947 is "1995 Stadium Club - Finest Bronze 3x4"), and Inserts.cfm listed exactly 42 rows against exactly 42 sids with no interleaving, no truncation and no interpolated sid (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/160147/2017-18-Panini-Court-Kings). Prefixes seen: AN-, ANJ-, AE-, BT-, FP1-, FP2-, FP3-, FPD-, HA-, PA-, SS-.
