Box-set reissue: the base checklist is identical, card for card, to 2019-20 Panini Hoops — the same 300 cards printed on premium stock and sold as a complete set.

No base-set parallel has a row in the catalogue yet. That is not a claim that none exist — this release's open questions record what is known about its parallels and why it is not yet expressible as a row.

  • G-001 EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.2 BASE-CARD IDENTITY COLLISION, naming both releases: hoopspremium-bkb-2019-20 (this release) and paninihoops-bkb-2019-20 describe THE SAME 300 physical card numbers and players. Measured, not estimated: all 300 rows match on card_number, player_name and team_or_school with ZERO differing rows (300 of 300, 100%). This release is the #/199 Premium Box Set printing of that checklist; the parent is the pack-issued unnumbered printing. Built per 5.2 rather than deduplicated or double-counted. Note that paninihoops-bkb-2019-20 already carries this same object twice over as a base parallel row ("Premium Box Set", print_run 199) and as a sets.csv row ("Premium Box Set Autographs", 20 cards) with its own open gap G-005 saying "it may belong to a separate release record"; this release is that record, and a resolver pass should decide which side keeps them.
  • G-002 THE TASK BRIEFING IS CONTRADICTED BY THE EVIDENCE AND THIS RELEASE WAS BUILT AGAINST THE BRIEFING. The briefing stated that in 2019-20 ONLY the product was styled "NBA Hoops Premium STOCK Box Set", and supplied prior research describing a Target version (305 cards, $150, 2020-11-25) and a Panini Dutch Auction version (303 cards, $4,000 falling to $750, 2020-12-16). Those two ARE one product with two channel SKUs, but that product is the 2019-20 NBA Hoops PREMIUM STOCK Box Set, which is a factory-set SKU of the Hoops Premium Stock line, NOT this line. Evidence: (a) cardboardconnection carries them on one page, "2019-20 NBA Hoops Premium Stock Box Set Basketball Cards Checklist", stating "305 cards per box set" for the retail version and "303 cards per box set" for the premium version; (b) tcdb files their cards under the 2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock parent sid 245171 as "Prizms Pulsar" (sid 254657, described "Retail factory box set"), "Prizms Premium Set" (sid 254662, "Serial numbered to 149"), "Prizms Premium Set Gold Vinyl" (sid 254663, "Serial numbered 1 of 1") and "Hoops Tribute Premium Set Autograph" (sid 255219, "Serial numbered to 10"); (c) this release has none of those - its base cards are #/199 and are filed under the plain 2019-20 Hoops parent sid 212196. BOTH BRIEFING CARD COUNTS ARE EXPLAINED AND NEITHER IS AVERAGED OR DROPPED: 305 = the 300 base cards in their Pulsar printing plus "five bonus Pulsar Prizms" in "Red, Blue, Green, Gold or Black"; 303 = the 300 base cards in the "Prizm version with a distinct checkerboard design that is limited to 149 copies" plus "a pair" of "Gold Vinyl Prizm" one-of-ones plus one "exclusive Hoops Tribute Autograph. These are numbered to 10 copies (or less)." Both numbers are CARDS PER SEALED BOX, not a base set size - the base set is 300 in both - which is EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.4 unit confusion appearing at release level rather than in sets.csv card_count.
  • G-003 A SECOND DIRECTORY IS NEEDED AND WAS DELIBERATELY NOT CREATED HERE (one agent, one release). The 2019-20 NBA Hoops Premium Stock Box Set is a real, separate, buildable release: one product, two channel SKUs (Target retail 305 cards $150 released "November 25, 2020"; Panini-website Dutch Auction 303 cards "starts at $4,000 and drops until it hits $750" released "December 16, 2020"), source https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-20-nba-hoops-premium-stock-box-set-cards, tcdb parent sid 245171. BRAND-IDENTITY ESCALATION PER EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.1 - REPORTED, NOT DECIDED: reference/brands.csv has no row for a Hoops Premium Stock line at all (it carries hoops, paninihoops, opticpremium and hoopspremium only), so that release cannot be filed without a brand decision. Filing it under hoopspremium would merge two different products into one brand id, which is the exact defect UNIQUE (product_name, sport) exists to prevent.
  • G-004 release_date is UNKNOWN. No source consulted states a release date, a price or a sales channel for the 2019-20 NBA Hoops Premium Box Set. tcdb prints no release date on sid 218301 or sid 218337; cardboardconnection has no page for this product (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-20-nba-hoops-premium-box-set-basketball-cards returns 404) and documents it only as two sections inside the parent 2019-20 Hoops page; blog.paniniamerica.net carries launch posts for the 2018-19, 2021-22 and 2022-23 Premium Box Sets but none was found for 2019-20. The parent set's "Release Date: Nov 6, 2019" on tcdb belongs to the pack product and was NOT copied into this row.
  • G-005 Channel is UNKNOWN for this whole release and no channel value is asserted anywhere in it. The line is Panini-direct in the seasons that are documented - cardboardconnection says the 2018-19 Premium Box Set was "sold online by Panini" and the 2020-21 one was "Available through Panini's website" - but no source states the channel for the 2019-20 box, so writing panini-direct here would be an inference from adjacent seasons, not a citation. EXTRACTION_SPEC 1.5.
  • G-006 parallels.csv is intentionally EMPTY (header only). No parallel of this release's base set was found: tcdb lists exactly one "Premium Box Set" entry among the 18 parallel sets under the parent sid 212196 and no sub-parallel of it, cardboardconnection's "PREMIUM BOX SET PARALLELS: Base #/199." section lists exactly one line, and the autograph set has no catalogued parallel tier. This is absence of evidence, not evidenced absence - no source states that the box set had no parallels. Note also a schema consequence of EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.2: the base cards of THIS release are themselves catalogued as a parallel row of paninihoops-bkb-2019-20, so the same physical object is a base row here and a parallel row there.
  • G-007 DIRECT CONTRADICTION WITH AN EXISTING RELEASE ON rookie_flag, and this release took the opposite side. tcdb Gallery.cfm on the PARENT sid 212196 renders the token "(RC)" on cards 201-259 only; page 30 of 30 was re-fetched with a narrow verbatim prompt and answered that "(RC)" does not appear anywhere on it and that 291-300 carry "(HT)" only. data/paninihoops-bkb-2019-20/base_cards.csv records rookie_flag=yes for 295-300 as well (65 rookies over the ranges 201-259 and 295-300). This release writes 59 rookies, 201-259, because that is what the source renders today. One of the two is wrong, or tcdb changed between the two passes; unresolved.
  • G-008 rookie_flag rests on a SINGLE source and on the PARENT set rather than on this product's own checklist. tcdb Gallery.cfm on THIS release's sid 218301 renders "SN199" (and "HT" on 281-300) but renders NO "(RC)" token on any of the 300 tiles, including 201-210 where the parent renders it on every tile - i.e. tcdb suppresses or omits the rookie flag on parallel galleries. rookie_flag was therefore read off all 30 pages of the parent gallery for the identical card numbers. No second source publishes RC designations for this checklist. A free-text eBay seller title "2019-20 Panini NBA Hoops Premium Box Set /199 Jaylen Hands #242 Rookie RC" corroborates the designation for one card inside the 201-259 block and nothing else.
  • G-009 base_card_tiers.csv was NOT written and the base run is NOT treated as tiered. tcdb renders a subset flag "HT" (Hoops Tribute) on cards 281-300 and nothing on 1-280, so card_tier carries "Hoops Tribute" on those 20 rows, but the print run is uniform at #/199 across all 300 cards, so base_print_run is the integer 199 rather than varies-by-tier and EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.5 does not apply. Cards 201-259 are a rookie block but tcdb renders no tier label on them, so their card_tier is left empty rather than invented.
  • G-010 The two structural sources used for this release may be closer to one opinion than two. tcdb and cardboardconnection agree on every value here (300 cards, #/199, a 20-card Hoops Tribute autograph checklist #/10 at 281-300), and cardboardconnection's parallel and autograph sections for the whole Hoops line track tcdb's set inventory closely enough that independence cannot be assumed - the same caution the pilot release raised in its G-013. Independent corroboration that does exist is marketplace only: COMC card-page URL path segments ("Panini_NBA_Hoops_-_Base_-_Premium_Box_Set/87/LeBron_James") and free-text eBay seller titles carrying "/199" with matching card numbers.
  • G-011 beckett.com is still unreachable, and its failure mode has CHANGED since the pilot recorded it. Pilot gap G-013 recorded a 302 to https://beckett-maintenance-page.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html on the /news/ path. Measured today: https://www.beckett.com/news/2019-20-panini-nba-hoops-basketball-cards/ now returns HTTP 403, while https://www.beckett.com/basketball/2019-20/hoops-premium-box-set-tribute-autographs still 302s to the same maintenance page. The page title indexed by search - "2019-20 Hoops Premium Box Set Tribute Autographs Basketball Sports Cards Online Values and Checklists" - is itself third-source evidence that Beckett catalogues this product under the name "2019-20 Hoops Premium Box Set", but the page body could not be read and nothing from it was written.
  • G-012 No pack odds and no scarcity tier are recorded for either set. This is a sealed complete factory box set with fixed contents rather than a pack product, so per-set pack odds do not exist in the ordinary sense; no source states any odds figure. stated_odds, odds_evidence_url, odds_evidence_quote and scarcity_tier are therefore empty on both sets.csv rows.
  • G-013 Box contents for 2019-20 are NOT sourced and no contents count was written into any field. cardboardconnection states the 2018-19 box held "300 base cards plus 1 autograph" (301) and the 2020-21 box "270 base set plus 1 autograph" (271); applying that shape to 2019-20 would give 301, which is a rule applied rather than a statement found, so it appears nowhere in the CSVs. Whether the 2019-20 box guaranteed exactly one Hoops Tribute autograph is consequently unconfirmed.
  • G-014 The Premium Box Set Autographs checklist DIFFERS from the autograph checklist of the separate 2019-20 NBA Hoops Premium Stock Box Set, which is positive evidence that the two products are not the same object catalogued twice. This release: 20 cards, 281-300 contiguous, "282 Kobe Bryant AU, HT, SN10", every row SN10. The Premium Stock product's "Hoops Tribute Premium Set Autograph" (tcdb sid 255219): Total Cards "17", numbers 281-300 with 283, 288 and 290 absent, "282 Dirk Nowitzki AU, SN10", and mixed runs SN10/SN5. Different signer at the same number and a different card count.
  • G-015 Endpoint behaviour worth adding to the spec toolkit, measured on this release. (1) ViewSet.cfm IGNORES a PageIndex query parameter on a subset sid: ViewSet.cfm/sid/254662/...?PageIndex=3 returned page 1 again (first row card 1 Trae Young), so ViewSet cannot be paged and truncates around rows 76-86 - Gallery.cfm is the only complete route. (2) Gallery.cfm PageIndex paging worked for all 30 pages on sid 218301 and all 30 on sid 212196 under the canonical slugs 2019-20-Hoops-Premium-Box-Set and 2019-20-Hoops, with ZERO 503 responses across ~60 sequential and small-batch fetches - the spec's throttling warning did not fire at a concurrency of 3-5. (3) tcdb Gallery.cfm renders the "(RC)" token on a PARENT gallery but not on a PARALLEL gallery of the same cards, while it DOES render the per-row serial flag ("SN199") on the parallel gallery - so a parallel gallery is a good print-run source and a bad rookie-flag source.
