- G-001 NO FLOOR IS CLAIMED FOR THIS LINE AND NONE MAY BE INFERRED FROM THIS RELEASE. 2016-17 is the only Panini Limited release anywhere in data/, which is a fact about the CATALOGUE and not about the product line. This build opened one season below and the line is there: tcdb sid 123494 renders the heading "2015-16 Panini Limited" with "Total Cards: 200" and "Release Date: April 6, 2016" (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/123494/2015-16-Panini-Limited), confirming the figure specs/2016-17_SCOPE_MEMO.md section 3 records from tcdb's 2015-16 season index. That memo also records Limited ABSENT from the 2014-15 index - and per the Studio lesson in its section 3b, absence from an adjacent index is NOT a floor, so no debut and no depth is claimed below 2015-16. Depth was not chased. INCIDENTAL FINDING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION: tcdb's 2017 basketball season index contains NO entry whose name contains "Limited" (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewAll.cfm/sp/Basketball/year/2017), asked as a direct yes/no question, so there is no 2017-18 Limited parent above this release either. That is reported as an incidental depth finding, not as a verified-not-released claim - nobody searched for a cancelled or solicited 2017-18 Limited.
- G-002 RELEASE DATE 2017-01-18 IS DOUBLE-SOURCED FROM TWO PRODUCT PAGES, AND THE OBVIOUS SHORTCUT WAS AVOIDED. tcdb's parent renders the unqualified line "Release Date: January 18, 2017" (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited); cardboardconnection's PRODUCT page renders "Release Date: 1/18/2017" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-limited-basketball-cards). Neither labels its date an estimate, so EXTRACTION_SPEC 3.2's estimated-date prohibition never had to fire. THE TRAP: specs/2016-17_SCOPE_MEMO.md section 1a records that cardboardconnection's SEASON INDEX prints dates that are sometimes release dates and sometimes not - a month and three days off its own product page on Prestige. This build never opened the season index. NOT COUNTED AS A THIRD SOURCE: Panini America's own first-look post, published November 15, 2016, says "When Panini America's 2016-17 Limited Basketball arrives in hobby shops across North America in late January..." (https://blog.paniniamerica.net/panini-america-provides-detailed-first-look-at-2016-17-limited-basketball-gallery/). That is a forecast at roughly two months' publication distance and a first-party FORECAST is not corroboration of a retrospective record (section 9a discriminator), so it is recorded and not counted. It is nonetheless consistent with the written date.
- G-003 base_print_run=unnumbered CARRIES basis=assumed, NOT sourced, because NO source states in words that the base cards carry no serial numbering. What supports it is a within-product positive discriminative test run in BOTH directions on the SAME renderers, which EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.1 is explicit is "assumed" and not "sourced". NO serial token appears on any of base rows 1-100 on any of three renderings - https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=1 (rows 1-82), https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=9 (81-90) and https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=10&sort=0 (91-100) - while the SAME endpoints print "AU, MEM, RC, SN99" on rows 101-140 and "SP" on 141-150 of the same sid, and the five base parallels of the same product render SN99/SN49/SN25/SN15/SN1 on every one of their own 100 rows. Per CAV-042 an empty flag column is never evidence of absence on its own; this is the stronger within-sid form, where the same renderer emits tokens for other blocks of the same sid.
- G-004 base_set_size=100 EXCLUDES TWO NUMBERED BLOCKS THAT SIT PAST THE BASE RUN, PER EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.3, AND THE PARENT HEADER WAS NOT USED TO SIZE ANYTHING. The parent states "Total Cards: 150". Per CAV-045 the rows past the base run were opened and the flag column read: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=2 renders 101-140 flagged "AU, MEM, RC, SN99" (the Rookie Jersey Autographs set) and 141-150 flagged "SP", with "RC" additionally on 145-150 (the Base Short Print block). 100 + 40 + 10 = 150 reconciles the header exactly, so the header and the enumeration are both TRUE and only the obvious inference from the header would have been wrong. Independently, cardboardconnection's own three section headings read "Base Set Checklist" / "100 cards.", "Rookie Jersey Autographs Set Checklist" / "40 cards. Serial Numbered #/99." and "Base Short Print Set Checklist" / "10 cards." (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-limited-basketball-cards). Three of the five base parallels state "Total Cards: 100" and all five render exactly 100 rows over 1-100 and stop. https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=3 renders zero rows. CONVENTION DIVERGENCE IN THE CATALOGUE, NAMED RATHER THAN SMOOTHED: EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.3 records that contenders-bkb-2019-20 sets base_set_size=165 INCLUDING its Rookie Ticket autograph block while contendersoptic-bkb-2019-20 sets 100 and files 101-140 separately, and that contenders-bkb-2021-22 also carries the include convention. This build applies the spec's EXCLUSION rule. Within 2016-17, noir-bkb-2016-17 (base 1-100 + 131-230, with 101-130 excluded as Rookie Patch Autographs) and impeccable-bkb-2016-17 (base 1-100, two autograph blocks excluded) both apply the same exclusion rule, so this release agrees with its own season and disagrees with contenders 2019-20 and 2021-22.
- G-005 A tcdb PARALLEL SID CAN ECHO THE PARENT'S "Total Cards" FIGURE, AND IT DID SO ON TWO OF THE FIVE BASE PARALLELS HERE. Red Spotlight (sid 144930) and Emerald Spotlight (sid 144927) both state "Total Cards: 150" - which is exactly the PARENT's total - while Silver (144931), Gold (144928) and Platinum (144929) state "Total Cards: 100". All five render exactly 100 rows over card numbers 1-100, all five have pagination controls that top out at Gallery page 10, and Red's Gallery pages 11 and 15 render ZERO tiles while its Checklist page 2 renders tcdb's home-page boilerplate. CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC names this shape and names the tell: "a header that happens to equal the parent's base size is the tell. Count the rendered rows before trusting any header total on a parallel sid." Written extents come from the rendered rows. NOT RESOLVED: whether tcdb's 150 on those two sids is a stale echo or a claim that those two tiers also cover 101-150; no rendering of either sid produced a row above 100, and the three sibling tiers disagree with the 150, so the echo reading is the better-evidenced one but is not proved.
- G-006 THE PARENT'S Inserts.cfm NOTES COLUMN CARRIES NOTHING USABLE, AND THE CAV-036 BOTH-DIRECTIONS SPLIT TEST IS UNRUNNABLE ON IT - reported as unrunnable rather than as run and passed. The page renders two sections, "Insert Sets (34)" and "Parallel Sets (5)", enumerated section by section per CAV-047 with the row counts matching both headings and no truncation and no refusal. Every one of those 39 rows carries an image-completion percentage in the Notes cell - "7.0% of images added", "21.0% of images added", "80.0% of images added" and so on - with ZERO blank cells and ZERO serial statements in any format, prose or bare token. So there is no split to test in either direction and a blank cell does not exist to be informative. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited . CONSEQUENCE: all 27 print-run figures and all 14 set card_counts in this release came from per-sid row-level sweeps inside each tier's own sid, which is the expensive path. THIS IS ALSO A CAV-036 DATA POINT ON A LINE THAT HAD NEVER BEEN MEASURED: Limited 2016-17 joins the "column carries nothing" bucket, and because no sibling season of this line exists anywhere there was no anti-source to be misled by.
- G-007 EIGHT SET-SCOPE PARALLELS ARE PROVABLY SERIAL NUMBERED WITH A PER-CARD VARIABLE RUN AND THE SCHEMA CANNOT SAY SO, so each carries print_run=UNKNOWN / serial_numbered=UNKNOWN and its census is recorded here. This is the EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.3 gap and CAV-041's subject, now costing a value for a sixth consecutive season. Every row of every one of these tiers carries a serial token; the tiers are not unresolved, they are unexpressible. The censuses, each taken over every row the sid renders: Limited Jersey Signatures Gold Spotlight (144938) {SN5, SN10, SN16, SN25} over 48 of 60 rows; Limited Jersey Signatures Silver Spotlight (144940) {SN10, SN25, SN49} over 59 of 59; Limited Legends Jersey Autographs Prime (144942) {SN5, SN10} over 10 of 10, nine rows SN10 and LLJ-CD Clyde Drexler SN5; Phenoms Jersey Autographs Prime (144949) {SN5, SN10, SN20, SN25, SN26, SN35, SN39} over 49 of 49; Preparation Prime (144952) {SN22, SN29} over 9 of 9; Rookie Phenoms Jersey Autographs Prime (144954) {SN10, SN29, SN39} over 39 of 39, with only RPJ-DR and RPJ-TP differing from SN39; Team Trademarks Prime (144960) {SN1, SN5, SN8, SN11, SN23, SN25} over 30 of 30; Unlimited Potential Materials Prime (144962) {SN10, SN20, SN37, SN39} over 38 of 38. RATE, WITH DENOMINATORS, FOR THE CAV-050 LEDGER: 8 of 27 tiers variable - 0 of 5 base-set-scope and 8 of 22 set-scope. NONE of the eight is base-scope, so CAV-041 did not have to delete a row this time. WHERE THE VARIABILITY SITS, AGAINST THE REFUTED PRIOR: all four pure autograph-set BASE tiers of this release (Limited Jersey Signatures, Limited Legends Jersey Autographs, Phenoms Jersey Autographs, Rookie Phenoms Jersey Autographs) - two of those four sets are themselves variable, see the next gap - while the eight variable PARALLEL tiers are six Prime tiers and two Spotlight colour tiers. The 1/1 end is uniform here: all nine SN1 tiers are flat across every row, enumerated and not assumed.
- G-008 TWO SETS ARE PER-CARD VARIABLE AND sets.csv CANNOT HOLD A PRINT RUN AT ALL (EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.2: there is no print_run column here and the figure must never go in card_count). Limited Jersey Signatures (sid 144937), 58 of 58 rows enumerated: distinct token set {SN25, SN40, SN49, SN80, SN89, SN99} - six runs, with the odd values on single rows (LJS-DW SN40, LJS-TC SN80, LJS-DG SN89). cardboardconnection independently calls it "Limited Jersey Signatures (varying #s)" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-limited-basketball-cards), so the variability itself is double-sourced. Phenoms Jersey Autographs (sid 144948), 45 of 45 rows enumerated: {SN25, SN49, SN99}; cardboardconnection independently says "(varying #s)". SEPARATELY, SEVEN SETS ARE UNIFORMLY NUMBERED AND THE FIGURE STILL CANNOT BE STORED STRUCTURALLY: Rookie Jersey Autographs /99 (double-sourced - every row of the parent's 101-140 block carries SN99 and cardboardconnection's heading says "Serial Numbered #/99."), Rookie Phenoms Jersey Autographs /99, Decade Dominance Materials /99, Preparation /99, Team Trademarks /99, Unlimited Potential Materials /99 and Limited Legends Jersey Autographs /25 (double-sourced). Each is recorded in that set's notes in words. A set-level print_run column, or permitting serial_numbered=yes with print_run=UNKNOWN, would convert this spend into recorded fact.
- G-009 CHANNEL IS UNKNOWN WITH AN EMPTY channel_basis ON ALL 27 PARALLEL ROWS, AND THAT IS A DECISION, NOT A COVERAGE HOLE. Two product-level channel sentences exist and were deliberately NOT inherited onto tiers they do not cover: cardboardconnection's "Each hobby box contains two relics or autographed relics." and "Product Configuration: 8 cards per pack, 1 pack per box, 12 boxes per case" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-limited-basketball-cards), and Panini America's own first-look post "When Panini America's 2016-17 Limited Basketball arrives in hobby shops across North America in late January..." plus "eight cards per pack, one pack per box, 12 boxes per case" (https://blog.paniniamerica.net/panini-america-provides-detailed-first-look-at-2016-17-limited-basketball-gallery/). The two configurations agree exactly, which is first-party corroboration that the product shipped in a single hobby box format - but neither source names a parallel and neither claims exclusivity, so per CAV-010 a single named channel value would assert an exclusivity nobody stated. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.3 declining means channel=UNKNOWN, channel_basis EMPTY (the database enforces (channel=UNKNOWN) = (channel_basis IS NULL), so unsupported would be rejected) and channel_confidence empty. A reviewer who judges the product-level hobby evidence sufficient would write channel=hobby with channel_basis=sourced-presence on all 27 rows; that is a one-line change and the evidence for it is quoted here in full. No retail or blaster SKU was found for this product by any source consulted.
- G-010 THE LIMITED JERSEY SIGNATURES FAMILY RENDERS FOUR DIFFERENT TOTALS AND ITS TIERS ARE NOT NESTED. Base sid 144937 states "Total Cards: 58" and renders 58 rows LJS-AD..LJS-VO; Platinum Spotlight (144939) states 60 and renders 60; Gold Spotlight (144938) states 60; Silver Spotlight (144940) states 59 and renders 59. The two rows the base page lacks and Platinum and Silver carry are LJS-AN and LJS-AP. card_count=58 was written from the set's OWN page. CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC 1c-ter says the discriminator between "the base page is short" and "the extras are parallel scope" is an INDEPENDENT third party, and there is none here: no checklistcenter page for this product surfaced in a search (and per CAV-037 a constructed slug must not be tried), and cardboardconnection does not print a count for this set. UNRESOLVED, and 58 is therefore a tcdb-only figure that two of its own parallels contradict.
- G-011 Errors.cfm ON THE PARENT RETURNED ITS SILENCE SENTENCE AND NOTHING IS CONCLUDED FROM IT. https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited renders a page explicitly headed "Errors / Variations" and the text "No errors or variations have been added for this set yet." Per CAV-020 that identical sentence is returned on sets that provably DO have errata, so it discriminates nothing: this build draws NO conclusion about whether a variation set, a b-suffixed row or a UER row exists in this release. The base run's integrity rests instead on an independent contiguous enumeration of 1-100 across three renderings plus the five base parallels each rendering the same 100 numbers. Note that Gallery.cfm strips b suffixes, so a b-row variation layer would be invisible to the enumeration used here; that possibility is open, not excluded.
- G-012 ONLY ONE EDITORIAL LINEAGE WAS REACHABLE, SO EVERY "TWO SOURCES" CLAIM IN THIS RELEASE IS tcdb PLUS cardboardconnection AND NOTHING ELSE. checklistcenter: a WebSearch scoped to checklistcenter.com for this product returned no page for it (the top hit was 2016-17 Panini Contenders Draft Picks, a different product); per CAV-037 no URL was constructed, so this is evidence of nothing either way. beckett.com: CAV-033 reproduced on an eighteenth product - https://www.beckett.com/news/expect-few-limits-for-the-hits-in-2016-17-panini-limited-basketball/ returns 302 Found to https://maintenance.beckett.com/ . Its search-result TITLE ("2016-17 Panini Limited Basketball Checklist, Release Date") is cited as a title only; the page was never read. checklistinsider, sportscardchecklist and waxstat were not swept. Marketplace corroboration was not attempted: this pass writes no card numbers onto an autograph set (insert_cards.csv is a separate pass under CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC), so the required check does not bite here - but it means nothing in this release is marketplace-confirmed. NAME DIVERGENCES BETWEEN THE TWO LINEAGES, NOT MERGED: cardboardconnection prints "Preparation Relics" and "Team Trademarks Relics" where tcdb prints "Preparation" and "Team Trademarks". tcdb's renderings are used because they are the enumeration the sids and counts come from, and because cc appends "Relics" as an editorial descriptor on memorabilia sets. Flagged rather than resolved.
- G-013 TWO OF THE FIFTEEN SETS HAVE NO SID OF THEIR OWN ON tcdb AND WERE FOUND INSIDE THE PARENT CHECKLIST. Rookie Jersey Autographs is absent from the parent's Inserts.cfm listing while THREE of its parallels are present with distant sids - Gold Spotlight 175908, Silver Spotlight 175909, Platinum Spotlight 175910, against the product's main block at 144927-144962. It sits in the parent checklist at 101-140. Base Short Print has no sid and no parallels at all, and sits at 141-150. The arithmetic closes exactly and is the completeness argument for the set inventory: the Inserts.cfm listing is 34 insert rows + 5 parallel rows = 39, decomposing as 12 sets with sids + 22 set-scope parallels + 5 base-set parallels; adding the two sid-less sets and the Base Set gives 15 sets.csv rows and 27 parallels.csv rows. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited . BOUNDARIES PROVED ON BOTH ENDS OF BOTH SID RUNS, per the brief and EXTRACTION_SPEC: 144926 is "2017 Topps WWE Undisputed" (Total Cards 70, a wrestling set) and 144963 is "2003 MLB Showdown - Advertisement with Game Tips" (Total Cards 22, baseball); 175907 renders tcdb's HOME PAGE ("Cards Listed: 35,440,084"), the documented non-existent-sid signature, and 175911 is "2010 Breygent Dexter Season 3 - Dexter's Victims" (Total Cards 9). 144926 doubles as the required probe BELOW the bottom of the Inserts.cfm listing. NO prior-season or cross-product subset appears under this parent: every one of the 39 listed rows renders a bare set name with no season prefix, so EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.5 had nothing to file - unlike nattreasures-bkb-2016-17, whose parent carries 68 such rows.
- G-014 CARD 102 DOES NOT RENDER ON ROOKIE JERSEY AUTOGRAPHS GOLD SPOTLIGHT (sid 175908) WHILE ITS HEADER CLAIMS 40 AND BOTH SIBLING TIERS RENDER IT. Checklist.cfm page 1 rendered 39 rows - 101, then 103 through 140 - and Gallery.cfm page 1 under a different endpoint and ordering rendered ten tiles reading 101, 103, 104 ... 111, i.e. it skips 102 as well. Silver Spotlight (175909) and Platinum Spotlight (175910) each render all forty rows 101-140 including 102. The header says "Total Cards: 40". print_run=25 is therefore written off a census of every row the tier RENDERS (39 of 39), not off a sample: the missing row was chased on a second differently-varied fetch precisely because CAV-050's load-bearing case had 17 uniform rows and one different, so an unread row on an otherwise-uniform tier is exactly where an exception hides. UNRESOLVED: whether the tier is genuinely 39 cards and the header is stale, or 40 cards with one row missing from tcdb. ALSO RECORDED: the Checklist.cfm fetch stated "40 rows displayed" above its own list of 39 - the documented summarising-fetch arithmetic failure. The list was taken, never the tally, here and on every page of this build. NO PRINTING-PLATE SET EXISTS IN THIS RELEASE: none of the 39 Inserts.cfm rows carries the word "Plate" or "Printing", so the prohibition on writing printing plates as a /1 tier never had to fire here. The 1/1 tiers in this release are the Platinum Spotlight and Super Prime ladders, each rendering SN1 on every row of its own sid.
- G-015 LIMITED JERSEY SIGNATURES GOLD SPOTLIGHT (sid 144938) IS THE ONLY TIER IN THIS RELEASE WHOSE SWEEP IS INCOMPLETE, AND THE COVERAGE IS STATED AS A ROW COUNT RATHER THAN IMPLIED. Checklist.cfm page 1 rendered 48 rows against a header of "Total Cards: 60"; the response gave tokens without card numbers for those rows, so the 48 cannot be named individually. The tier is already established as per-card variable from those 48 rows ({SN5, SN10, SN16, SN25}), so the shortfall cannot change the written value - print_run is UNKNOWN either way - but a thirteenth distinct token could exist on the twelve rows not reached. No Gallery top-up was spent on it for that reason. Every other tier in the release was swept over every row its sid renders.
- G-016 UNLIMITED POTENTIAL MATERIALS RENDERS 39 ROWS SPANNING CARD NUMBERS 1-40 WITH #36 ABSENT, and its header "Total Cards: 39" reconciles with the ROW COUNT rather than with the span. Its Prime tier (sid 144962) renders 38 rows over the same 1-40 span with 36 AND 39 absent, header "Total Cards: 38" - again matching rows, not span. So on this one product tcdb's Total Cards counts RENDERED ROWS, which is one of the five units CAV-044 and EXTRACTION_SPEC 3.2 record it counting; no general rule is inferred from that. NOT CONCLUDED: that #36 is unissued. Per CAV-044 a hole in a page's numbering is not evidence of an unissued number until a parallel of the same set has been opened, and the only parallel this set has (Prime) is missing #36 too - which is consistent with an unissued number AND with both pages sharing one upstream omission. Card-level numbering for insert sets is a separate pass under CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC, so nothing was written either way.
- G-017 rookie_flag=no ON ALL 100 BASE CARDS RESTS ON A WITHIN-PRODUCT DISCRIMINATIVE TEST, NOT ON AN ABSENCE. CAV-003 records that most Panini checklist sources do not print RC designations, which would normally force UNKNOWN. This product's renderers DO print RC: the parent checklist carries "RC" on rows 103-140 (with AU, MEM and SN99) and on 145-150 (with SP), and Gallery.cfm page 15 independently renders "RC, SP" on 145-150. No RC token appears on any of rows 1-100 on any of the three renderings used to enumerate them. The roster corroborates it on its face - 1-100 is veterans and 2015-16 rookies (Towns, Porzingis, Booker, Russell, Okafor, Winslow, Mudiay, Hezonja, Cauley-Stein, Turner), while the 2016-17 class (Simmons, Ingram, Brown, Murray, Hield, Dunn, Sabonis, Saric) sits entirely at 101-150. So the no is evidenced rather than assumed, and the 2016-17 rookie cards of this product are all in blocks EXCLUDED from base_set_size.
- G-018 THE BASE SHORT PRINT BLOCK (141-150) IS FILED AS AN insert ROW, FLAGGED, AND ITS NAME IS THE SOURCE'S. EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.3 excludes a block filed past base_set_size from the base set, and sets.csv may hold exactly one set_type=base row, so it cannot be a second base row. It is not signed and carries no memorabilia flag, so set_type=insert. scarcity_tier=short-print is sourced twice over: tcdb flags all ten rows "SP" on two differently-varied renderings (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=2 and https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/139699/2016-17-Panini-Limited?PageIndex=15, which agree card for card and token for token), and cardboardconnection's own section heading reads "Base Short Print Set Checklist" over "10 cards." (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-limited-basketball-cards). NO PRINT RUN IS WRITTEN: no serial token appears on any of the ten rows on either rendering, while the same renderers print SN99 on 101-140 of the same sid - a within-sid positive discriminative test in both directions - so the block is short-printed and NOT serial numbered, which is a statement about scarcity and not a print run. The ten cards are 141 LeBron James, 142 James Harden, 143 Derrick Rose, 144 Russell Westbrook, 145 Ben Simmons, 146 Malcolm Brogdon, 147 Georgios Papagiannis, 148 Willy Hernangomez, 149 Ron Baker, 150 Alex Abrines. NAMING: cc suffixes every section heading with " Set Checklist" ("Base Set Checklist", "Rookie Jersey Autographs Set Checklist"), so dropping that suffix is reading the source, not composing a name. tcdb has no name for this block at all.
- G-019 BARE-ORDINAL PLACEHOLDERS IN tcdb'S CARD-NUMBER COLUMN, LOGGED HERE FOR THE SEPARATE CHASE PASS AND NOT ACTED ON. This pass writes no insert_cards.csv. Observed while sweeping serial tokens: Limited Legends Jersey Autographs and both its Prime and Super Prime tiers render a bare "8" for Dennis Rodman where the other nine rows render LLJ- codes; Phenoms Jersey Autographs and both its Prime and Super Prime tiers render bare "2" and "38" where the rest render PJA- codes. Per CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC these are placeholders to be withheld with the player named, not numbers to be written, and the parallel-page test cannot resolve them here because the parallel pages carry the same bare ordinals. Separately, Phenoms Jersey Autographs Prime carries PJA-AN, PJA-AP and PJA-DWL which its own base page does not, and its base page carries PJA-AL, PJA-BP, PJA-DS, PJA-KB and PJA-TT patterns that differ tier to tier - the tiers are not nested.
- G-020 THIS LINE'S ONE VISUAL LADDER IS SPLIT FIVE WAYS BY THE ORDERED FAMILIES LIST, AND NO ENTRY WAS ADDED (CAV-039). The derived values were produced by AST-lifting CHANNEL_CLASS, FAMILIES and family_of out of pipeline/fix_schema.py so the repo keeps exactly one definition, and they were written rather than left empty (CAV-034). Where the names land: family_of("Emerald Spotlight") = "Emerald"; family_of("Platinum Spotlight") = "Platinum"; family_of("Red Spotlight"), family_of("Gold Spotlight") and family_of("Silver Spotlight") all = "other"; family_of("Prime") and family_of("Super Prime") = "other". The five Spotlight tiers are one ladder in the product - Red /99, Silver /49, Gold /25, Emerald /15, Platinum 1/1, named identically across eight different scopes in this release - and the list has no "Spotlight" pattern, so two members are claimed by colour-word patterns that belong to other lines' finishes and three fall through. The family this line needs is "Spotlight". It is NOT added here: CAV-039 requires the 268 hand-written family values to be decided first, and CAV-019 requires a corpus-wide dry run for any new pattern. Checked for the CAV-019 substring hazard: no existing FAMILIES pattern matches the string "Spotlight", so adding ("Spotlight","Spotlight") ahead of ("Platinum","Platinum") and ("Emerald","Emerald") would be the shape of the Pink guard - but that is an owner decision and a corpus-wide diff, not a build-time edit. channel_class is "unknown" on all 27 rows because channel is UNKNOWN on all 27, which is the map applied, not a withholding (CAV-013).
- G-021 CAV-050 LEDGER ENTRY FOR THIS RELEASE, AND IT CONTRADICTS NOTHING BECAUSE THERE IS NO PRIOR LEFT TO CONTRADICT. Per-tier variability: 8 of 27 parallel tiers, decomposing as 0 of 5 base-set-scope and 8 of 22 set-scope; plus 2 of the 15 SETS are themselves per-card variable. Every tier was enumerated over every row its sid renders except Limited Jersey Signatures Gold Spotlight (48 of 60) - see that gap. All nine SN1 tiers are flat, so the 1/1 end did not vary HERE; that is a measurement on one release and is explicitly NOT offered as support for the clause CAV-050 refuted. The variability sits on six Prime memorabilia-quality tiers, two Spotlight colour tiers of one autograph set, and the base tiers of two of the four pure autograph sets - a distribution that matches none of courtkings, threads, spectra or flawless 2016-17, which is the point of the caveat. NO SIBLING SEASON OF THIS LINE EXISTS ANYWHERE IN THE CATALOGUE, so nothing was inherited, no anti-source was available to mislead, and nothing here should be carried forward to a 2015-16 Limited build as anything but a hypothesis. CORPUS-WIDE CHECK RUN, as CAV-019 requires before calling a pattern question latent or live: a sweep of every data/*-bkb-*/parallels.csv in the repo finds ZERO existing rows whose parallel_name contains "Spotlight", so these 27 rows are the first and only Spotlight rows in the catalogue and a future ("Spotlight","Spotlight") entry placed ahead of ("Platinum","Platinum") and ("Emerald","Emerald") would re-derive exactly these 27 and nothing else. Reported, not applied.
