  • G-001 Release date disagreement: checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, steelcitycollectibles.com ('Release Date: 10/20/23'), and gogts.net's checklist article (gogts.net/2022-23-panini-noir-nba-basketball-cards-checklist, 'Release Date: Friday, October 20, 2023') independently agree on 2023-10-20 (adopted). gogts.net's separate product page (gogts.net/2022-23-panini-noir-nba-basketball-cards) instead states 'May 12, 2023' -- likely a stale originally-solicited street date later pushed back (mirroring the 2020-21 and 2021-22 Noir delay pattern), but no source explicitly states a delay reason for 2022-23.
  • G-002 tcdb.com's product page (sid 364322) states 'Total Card Count: 395' with the explicit note 'No cards issued for numbers 315, 326, 340, 355 or 380'. This reconciles cleanly against sets.csv: Base(200) + Metal Frame(100) + Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White(37) + Rookie Patch Autographs Color(38) + Rookie Autographs(20) = 395 -- see release.csv notes for full detail. This is left OPEN rather than fully closed because: (a) all tcdb.com fetches went through an AI-summarizing fetch tool rather than raw HTML, so a residual transcription-error risk remains despite a confirmed card-level sample (335-345) showing card 341=Jalen Duren matching card 301's rookie, which supports (but does not prove) the inferred 301-339/341-380 split; (b) the exact 339/341 boundary between the Black and White and Color sub-ranges (as opposed to e.g. 340/341, which the skip-list alone cannot distinguish) is an arithmetic inference, not a source's explicit statement; (c) this uses a DIFFERENT mechanism (5 skipped numbers inside a nominal 1-400 range, 37/38/20 split) than 2021-22 Noir's reconciliation (a clean gap-free 1-400 numbering, 40/40/20 split), so it should not be assumed to generalize to any other season without independent re-verification.
  • G-003 Vintage Art (Metal Frame) and Roll Credits (Metal Frame) have confirmed COMBINED card count (20, i.e. cards 281-300) and a confirmed starting point for Vintage Art (281, tagged 'VA' on tcdb.com, confirmed through card 287), but the individual 15/5 split recorded in sets.csv (Vintage Art 281-295, Roll Credits 296-300) is an ARITHMETIC INFERENCE by analogy to the unchanged Vintage Art count (15) from 2019-20/2020-21/2021-22 Noir, not a source's explicit statement for 2022-23. Multiple attempts to fetch tcdb.com's checklist page for cards 288-300 were truncated by the fetch tool before reaching that range. Roll Credits' existence and name (replacing 2021-22's SLAM! Kicks) are independently confirmed by 3 sources (steelcitycollectibles.com, gogts.net, paniniamerica.net), but no source gives Roll Credits its own numeric card count separate from the Metal Frame family total.
  • G-004 The Metal Frame family's FOTL parallel (#/11) is single-source: checklistcenter.com states 'FOTL #/11', but this figure was not independently corroborated by cardsmithsbreaks.com, gogts.net, or paniniamerica.net (none of which stated a specific FOTL print run for 2022-23, though steelcitycollectibles.com/dacardworld.com-style box-average language for FOTL configuration boxes was not found for this season either, unlike 2021-22 where steelcitycollectibles.com explicitly described a FOTL bonus card guarantee). This is a box-configuration-adjacent parallel, not a published pull-rate odds statement, and is not carried into the scarcity-pass files regardless.
  • G-005 Two auto set counts disagree between the two sources used for nearly all auto/memorabilia counts this season: Sneaker Spotlight Signatures is 39 (checklistcenter.com, re-fetched and confirmed verbatim twice: '39 Cards -- Serial Numbered #/99') vs 40 (cardsmithsbreaks.com); Spotlight Signatures Horizontal is 19 (checklistcenter.com, re-fetched and confirmed verbatim twice: '19 Cards -- Serial Numbered #/99 or as Noted') vs 20 (cardsmithsbreaks.com). checklistcenter.com's figures were adopted in sets.csv for both (higher-confidence due to repeat verbatim confirmation), but a third independent card-level checklist was not found to break the tie for either set.
  • G-006 2020-21 Update (3 cards) and 2021-22 Update (30 cards): both counts are single-source (checklistcenter.com only). Their EXISTENCE is corroborated by tcdb.com's ViewSet page, which lists child sets '2020-21 Panini Noir Update II: Shadow Signatures variants' and '2021-22 Panini Noir Update I: Auto Noir and Autographed Prime variants' for this product sid -- the 2020-21 Update's content description ('Shadow Signatures variants') matches between the two sources, but the 2021-22 Update's content description does not match verbatim (checklistcenter.com: 'multiple signature and autograph subsets'; tcdb.com: 'Auto Noir and Autographed Prime variants'), and neither source gives a card-number range for either set.
  • G-007 blog.paniniamerica.net (Panini's own blog) was checked for a 2022-23 Noir Basketball 'Panini Peek' preview article, Product Information Sheet (PIS) PDF, and Quality Control Gallery post. None of the three were found despite targeted searches -- consistent with the same gap reported for 2021-22 Noir (G-006 in that season's file). This is noted as a genuine source gap, not a negative finding about the product. The official paniniamerica.net product page (distinct from the blog) WAS found and used as a source for base parallels, release-date corroboration, and the 'Roll Credits... brand new' confirmation.
  • G-008 Most auto/memorabilia set card counts (Rookie Patch Autographs B&W/Color, Rookie Autographs, Autographed Prime B&W/Color, Freeze Frame Signatures, Night Lights Autographs, Reigning Nights/Shadow/Showtime/Silver Screen Debut/Snapshot/Spotlight Vertical Signatures, Box Office/Casting Call/Elegant Decor/Game Night/Jumbo/New Wave/Newsreels/Reel to Reel/Rookie Jumbo memorabilia sets) are corroborated by exactly two sources -- checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com -- which agree with each other on every count checked (aside from the two exceptions in G-005), but no THIRD independent card-level checklist was found for any of them to rule out both sites sharing a common upstream source (e.g. a Panini press release or sell sheet) rather than being truly independent verifications. This mirrors the identical caveat raised for 2021-22 Noir (that season's G-007).
  • G-009 No stated numeric pull odds (e.g. '1:X packs', 'X per case') were found for this release across checklistcenter.com, cardsmithsbreaks.com, gogts.net, steelcitycollectibles.com, paniniamerica.net, or general web search for 'case hit'/'SSP'/'super short print' combined with this product name (search results returned only unrelated products). The only quantitative box-level statement found was a box-average guarantee ('Find 4 autographs, 3 memorabilia, and 3 base or parallels per box on average' -- steelcitycollectibles.com/gogts.net/paniniamerica.net), which is a box-configuration guarantee, not a published per-set or per-parallel pull-rate/case-hit odds statement. No source described any specific 2022-23 Noir set or parallel as a 'case hit' or 'SSP' in explicit terms. The three scarcity-pass files are therefore empty (headers only), consistent with the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 Noir findings -- no odds sheet has ever existed for this line.
  • G-010 UNCATALOGUED tcdb SUBSETS: tcdb.com files two full autograph sets under this release's parent that have NO row in sets.csv, so no cards were written for either (a subset with no sets.csv row is a gap, never a new set). (1) 'Auto Noir Black and White', sid 394843, stated Total Cards 31, prefix ANB- (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/394843/2022-23-Panini-Noir-Auto-Noir-Black-and-White). (2) 'Auto Noir Color', sid 394845, stated Total Cards 31, prefix ANC- (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/394845/2022-23-Panini-Noir-Auto-Noir-Color). Each also has a Platinum parallel subset (394844, 394846). The two rosters mirror each other player-for-player and suffix-for-suffix (ANB-ADV / ANC-ADV Anthony Davis, etc.), and BOTH contain a genuine duplicate code: ANB-JST / ANC-JST is printed for both Jerry Stackhouse and John Stockton. sets.csv's own notes say the Auto Noir family appears in 2022-23 only as the '2021-22 Update' carryover, but these two sids are NOT the Update subsets (those are sids 394825-394828 and are titled as such) -- they are plainly-titled 2022-23 sets. Either sets.csv is missing two 31-card autograph sets for this release, or tcdb has mis-parented them. Not resolvable from this pass; 31+31 rows are available immediately if a sets.csv row is ever added.
  • G-011 CARD COUNT DISAGREEMENT, Freeze Frame Signatures: sets.csv records 34 (checklistcenter.com and cardsmithsbreaks.com), but tcdb.com states Total Cards 35 and renders 35 rows (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/394862/2022-23-Panini-Noir-Freeze-Frame-Signatures). All 35 are written to insert_cards.csv. The extra row is one half of a GENUINE DUPLICATE CODE: FRF-ROD is printed for BOTH Rod Strickland and Rolando Blackman. This was verified by a narrow verbatim re-fetch through a DIFFERENT tcdb rendering -- Gallery.cfm page 3 of 4 ends with 'FRF-ROD - Rod Strickland' and page 4 of 4 opens with 'FRF-ROD - Rolando Blackman' (https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/394862/2022-23-Panini-Noir-Freeze-Frame-Signatures?PageIndex=3 and ?PageIndex=4). The likeliest reconciliation is that checklistcenter/cardsmithsbreaks collapsed the duplicated code to one entry, but no source was found that states this, so sets.csv was NOT edited.
  • G-012 tcdb.com STORES THE LITERAL STRING 'TBD' IN THE CARD-NUMBER COLUMN for three cards in this release, which is unwritable as a card_number; the rows are withheld and the players named here so the roster survives. (1) Autographed Prime Black and White (sid 394847): RJ Barrett (New York Knicks) and Rod Strickland (Orlando Magic). Both players DO have codes in the sibling Autographed Prime Color set (APC-RJB, APC-ROD), so APB-RJB / APB-ROD look strongly inferable -- and were deliberately NOT written, because the two sets are demonstrably NOT code-for-code mirrors (Stephen Curry is APB-SCU in Black and White but APC-SC in Color, and Al Horford / Anthony Davis appear in only one of the two). (2) Showtime Signatures (sid 394895): Bennedict Mathurin (Indiana Pacers), the 25th of tcdb's 25 rows; 24 of the 25 cards sets.csv records are written. The Autographed Prime Black and White Tags parallel (sid 394848) was checked as a second source and still shows 'TBD' for both of its two, so the parallel-page test cannot resolve these.
  • G-013 Sneaker Spotlight (the non-autographed 10-card insert, sid 394907) is the ONLY set in this release written with plain 1..N ordinals outside the base-checklist block, and its numbering scheme could not be confirmed from a 2022-23 marketplace listing. What supports 1..N being real: it is a plain non-auto insert (the category the spec says genuinely is numbered 1..N); tcdb's order is NOT alphabetical by player, so it is not a rendered row index; and a free-text eBay seller title for the SAME NAMED SET one season earlier carries the same numeric shape -- 'LEBRON JAMES 2020-21 Panini Noir Sneaker Spotlight #d/99 SP Basketball Card #10' (https://www.ebay.com/itm/154533576192). What is missing: that corroboration is CROSS-SEASON, and this set has no parallel page on tcdb, so the parallel-page test was unavailable. A search-engine result title rendering a 2022-23 card as '2022-23 Panini Noir #1 LeBron James Sneaker Spotlight #/99' was found but its underlying page 404s, and per spec a search-result snippet is not a listing, so it was NOT used as evidence. Also note tcdb lists LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) at BOTH card 1 and card 3; both rows are written verbatim and flagged.
  • G-014 CROSS-BRAND SIGNING PROGRAM, excluded: tcdb.com files 'Private Signings Association Version' (sid 394879, Total Cards 1, PSA-LAM LaMelo Ball) and 'Private Signings Icon Version' (sid 394880, Total Cards 1, PSI-LAM LaMelo Ball) under this release's parent. Neither has a sets.csv row and neither was written. Panini's Private Signings are a redemption-fulfilment program whose cards tcdb files under whichever product the card was pulled from, so their presence here is not evidence that sets.csv is missing a 2022-23 Noir set.
  • G-015 PRIOR-SEASON 'UPDATE' SUBSETS -- rows deliberately NOT written despite sets.csv carrying '2020-21 Update' (3 cards) and '2021-22 Update' (30 cards). tcdb.com does not file these as two sets; it files 21 separate subsets under this release's parent (sids 394822-394842), each titled for the PRIOR season and each carrying that prior season's prefix, not a 2022-23 one. Sizes sampled: '2020-21 Panini Noir Update II: Shadow Signatures' = 1 card, SHA-KHN Kirk Hinrich (sid 394822), with its Holo Gold (394823) and Platinum (394824) subsets each carrying the SAME single card -- so sets.csv's count of 3 for '2020-21 Update' is most likely 1 card x 3 tiers rather than 3 distinct cards. '2021-22 Panini Noir Update I: Auto Noir Black and White' = 1 card, ANB-KLJ Kira Lewis Jr. (394825); '...Freeze Frame Signatures' = 4 cards, FF-ANF / FF-KLJ / FF-MBA / FF-PJW (394833); '...Spotlight Signatures Horizontal' = 1 card, SSH-ANF Anfernee Hardaway (394842). Writing these would require merging 18 differently-prefixed prior-season subsets under the single set_name '2021-22 Update' and would import 2021-22's numbering scheme into this release -- both of which the spec forbids. Note also that 2021-22's ANB- and SSH- prefixes COLLIDE with 2022-23's own ANB- (Auto Noir Black and White, see G-010) and SSH- (Spotlight Signatures Horizontal), so a resolver keyed on prefix alone would cross-hit between the update cards and this season's sets.
  • G-016 RESOLUTIONS FOUND THIS PASS (recorded here rather than by editing the earlier gap rows, which are left as written). (a) G-003 -- the Vintage Art / Roll Credits 15/5 split was recorded as an ARITHMETIC INFERENCE; it is now SOURCE-CONFIRMED. tcdb card 295 (Bennedict Mathurin) tags 'VA, RC, SN25' and card 296 (Dirk Nowitzki) tags 'RLC, SN25', a distinct Roll Credits tag (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/364322/cid/22889076/2022-23-Panini-Noir-295-Bennedict-Mathurin and https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/364322/cid/22889077/2022-23-Panini-Noir-296-Dirk-Nowitzki); card 298 (Larry Bird) also tags 'RLC, SN25'. So Vintage Art = 281-295 and Roll Credits = 296-300 exactly as sets.csv records. The cards 288-300 that earlier fetch attempts could not reach were recovered via Gallery.cfm, which paginates where Checklist.cfm truncates. (b) G-005 -- both disagreements are settled in favour of the checklistcenter.com figures already adopted: tcdb.com states Total Cards 39 and renders 39 rows for Sneaker Spotlight Signatures (sid 394908) and states 19 and renders 19 for Spotlight Signatures Horizontal (sid 394909), against cardsmithsbreaks.com's 40 and 20. This is the third independent card-level source G-005 asked for. (c) G-002 -- the 301-339 / 341-379 Rookie Patch Autograph boundary is no longer an arithmetic inference: tcdb's rendered checklist page 4 skips 315 and 326 outright inside the Black and White range and skips 355 inside the Color range, and TyTy Washington Jr. appears at 366 in Color with NO counterpart at 326 in Black and White, which is exactly what produces the 37/38 split. A goldin.co lot title independently confirms the ordinals are the REAL printed numbers rather than tcdb placeholders: '2022-23 Panini Noir Rookie Patch Autograph (RPA) #360 Paolo Banchero Signed Patch Rookie Card (#34/99) - PSA EX-MT 6' (https://goldin.co/item/2022-23-panini-noir-rookie-autograph-material-360-paolo-banchero-signe34mir), and card 360 is Paolo Banchero in the checklist. sets.csv was not edited; these rows remain OPEN for a maintainer to close.
