Box-set reissue: the base checklist is identical, card for card, to 2019-20 Optic — the same 200 cards printed on premium stock and sold as a complete set.
Base set parallels · not documented
No base-set parallel has a row in the catalogue yet. That is not a claim that none exist — this release's open questions record what is known about its parallels and why it is not yet expressible as a row.

- G-001 BASE-CARD IDENTITY COLLISION between TWO releases, per EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.2. This release (opticpremium-bkb-2019-20) and data/optic-bkb-2019-20 describe THE SAME 200 physical base card slots. Measured, not estimated: a mechanical row-by-row diff of this base_cards.csv against data/optic-bkb-2019-20/base_cards.csv matches on 200 of 200 card numbers, 200 of 200 player names and 200 of 200 teams - a complete overlap, zero differences on any field. The Premium Box Set is therefore the FULL parent base run, not a subset of it, and the 201 in "201-card factory set" is 200 base + 1 autograph, not 201 base slots. Both structural sources catalogue it as a PARALLEL of the Optic base rather than as a set of its own: tcdb files it in the Optic parent's "Parallel Sets" section as sid 225939 "2019-20 Donruss Optic - Premium Box Set", and checklistcenter lists "Premium Box Set Parallels: Base #/249". data/optic-bkb-2019-20/parallels.csv already carries a row for it (par_01M19N6THK40T9E6FQ52MB2D5R, "Premium Box Set Base", print_run 249) with its own gap G-011. Built here as instructed and NOT deduplicated and NOT double-counted; the duplication is deliberate and must be resolved at catalogue level, not by deleting either file.
- G-002 Number of sets produced is UNKNOWN. No source fetched states a set count for the 2019-20 edition. The base cards are #/249 and one might infer 249 sets, but that is a rule applied, not a statement found, and the 25-card autograph set at #/10 yields 250 autographs against a hypothetical 249 boxes, so the inference is not even arithmetically clean. Recorded nowhere in the CSVs rather than written as a fact. cardboardconnection (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-20-donruss-optic-premium-box-set-basketball-cards) states the sale mechanism only: "the 'Dutch Auction' starts at $2,000 per box and continues to drop in price every five minutes until all boxes are gone or the sales amount reaches $400 per box."
- G-003 release_date 2020-03-24 rests on ONE source and that source calls it an estimate: cardboardconnection (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-20-donruss-optic-premium-box-set-basketball-cards) prints "Estimated Release Date: March 24, 2020" and, in prose, "Available on March 24 (11 AM EST)". tcdb carries no release date for the subset and Beckett was not reachable. Two statements on one page is one source.
- G-004 parallels.csv is deliberately EMPTY (header only). No parallel of the Premium Box Set base run was found on any source. This is evidenced absence rather than an unresolved placeholder: tcdb's full set inventory for the Optic parent (Inserts.cfm on sid 217475) contains exactly two sets carrying the Premium Box Set name - the base subset sid 225939 and the autograph subset sid 226031 - and checklistcenter's Optic page lists the product's whole tier as the single line "Premium Box Set Parallels: Base #/249". cardboardconnection's product page carries no parallel list at all. If a colour tier exists inside this box set, no source fetched records it.
- G-005 Possible unrecorded variations. checklistcenter's 2019-20 Donruss Optic page annotates the base set as "200 Cards (*Nunn, Samanic No Name on Front Error Cards)" (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2019-20-donruss-optic-basketball-card-checklist/), i.e. a "No Name on Front" variation on the Kendrick Nunn (193) and Luka Samanic (176) base cards. Whether those variations exist in the Premium Box Set printing was not established: tcdb Errors.cfm returns "No errors or variations have been added for this set yet." on BOTH the Optic parent sid 217475 and on the Premium Box Set sid 225939, so tcdb records no variation for either. No variation rows were written here. [CORRECTED 2026-09-20: THE Errors.cfm SENTENCE QUOTED ABOVE IS NOT EVIDENCE AND THE CONCLUSION DRAWN FROM IT DOES NOT HOLD. Measured 2026-09-20 on tcdb sid 182809: Errors.cfm returns that identical sentence for a set whose own renderings carry UER on at least two cards (card 260 Mo Bamba, "UER: Statline says Undrafted, was actually drafted 6th", confirmed under &sort=0; card 67 Justin Jackson, "Career stat line is that of Kosta Koufos"). The endpoint returns the same string on a set that provably HAS errata and on one that appears not to, so it discriminates nothing and its silence is uninformative. WHAT SURVIVES: any claim here about base_set_size, about the base run being contiguous, or about no numbered block sitting past the base run, because those rest on the independent contiguous enumeration also cited in this note - the last rendered Gallery page, the empty page after it, and the per-row flag column. WHAT DOES NOT SURVIVE: the narrower claim that NO VARIATION SET EXISTS. A variation set renders as b-suffixed rows (101a/101b) that a base-run enumeration is not designed to surface, and Errors.cfm was the documented route to it, so that claim is now unsupported rather than disproved - it may still be true. Not re-fetched; recorded so it is not read as settled. See reference/caveats.csv CAV-020.]
- G-006 CONTRADICTION FOUND AGAINST EXISTING DATA - resolves, in favour of the existing file, gap G-016 of data/optic-bkb-2019-20. That gap records four card numbers where the Rated Rookies Signatures autograph checklist disagrees with optic base_cards.csv: 163, 174, 193, 195. This release's base checklist, read independently off tcdb sid 225939, agrees with optic base_cards.csv on all four - 163 Nicolo Melli (New Orleans Pelicans), 174 Justin Robinson (Washington Wizards), 193 Kendrick Nunn (Miami Heat), 195 Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers) - and disagrees with the autograph checklist at 174, where the Rated Rookies Signatures Premium Box Set page (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/226031/2019-20-Donruss-Optic-Rated-Rookies-Signatures-Premium-Box-Set) renders "174 Chuma Okeke Orlando Magic". Conclusion supported: the BASE roster at those numbers is as optic base_cards.csv has it, and the autograph checklists substitute different signers at the same slot numbers. Recorded here only; no file outside this release directory was touched.
- G-007 The autograph set's card numbers duplicate base card numbers WITHIN this release. Rated Rookies Signatures Premium Box Set renders 25 rows at numbers 152, 154, 156, 158, 160, 161, 162, 164, 166, 168, 170, 172, 174, 176, 178, 180, 182, 184, 186, 188, 190, 192, 194, 198 and 200 (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/226031/2019-20-Donruss-Optic-Rated-Rookies-Signatures-Premium-Box-Set), all of which are also base card numbers 1-200 in base_cards.csv. Any card-number-keyed join across this release's sets will collide unless it is also keyed by set. Flagged now because the card-level autograph checklist belongs to a later pass (CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC).
- G-008 Structural divergence between our release-level model and every source. Neither tcdb nor checklistcenter treats this product as a release: tcdb has NO parent sid for it - ViewAll.cfm/sp/Basketball/year/2019 and .../year/2020 list no Donruss Optic Premium Box Set entry, and the product exists only as two subsets of the 2019-20 Donruss Optic parent sid 217475 (base parallel sid 225939, autograph sid 226031). checklistcenter likewise carries it as one line inside the Optic checklist page. Only cardboardconnection gives it a page of its own. Everything in this release therefore comes from sources that consider it part of another product; no independent product-level structural source exists.
- G-010 rookie_flag basis is tcdb's "RR" flag, not an "RC" designation. EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.4 says to write yes/no "only where the source explicitly shows an RC designation". tcdb prints "RR" (Rated Rookie) on every row of the 151-200 block on this subset and prints nothing of the kind on rows 1-150 - read off Gallery.cfm pages 18, 19 and 20 and Checklist.cfm PageIndex=2. rookie_flag=yes was written for 151-200 and no for 1-150 on that flag, which also matches what data/optic-bkb-2019-20/base_cards.csv carries for the identical checklist (150 no, 50 yes). If the spec means RC strictly and RR does not count, all 200 rows should be UNKNOWN and both releases need the same correction.
- G-011 base_set_size is written as 200 while the most quotable headline figure on the only dedicated product page is 201: cardboardconnection "Product Configuration: 201-card factory set". 200 was written because the same page decomposes the 201 as "Full base set (200 cards)" plus "1 Rated Rookie Autograph", because tcdb's base subset header reads "Total Cards: 200" and its Gallery ends at card 200 on page 20 of 20, and because an eBay sealed-box description states "Each box has 200 cards each numbered out of /249 with one rated rookie autograph numbered /10." Flagged because any later source quoting "201 cards" will look like a coverage hole against this file and is not one.
- G-012 Single-source and unresolved items, listed so they are not mistaken for settled values. (a) The autograph set name "Rated Rookies Signatures Premium Box Set" is how tcdb and checklistcenter render it; no source shows what is printed on the card, so whether "Premium Box Set" is part of the set name or a cataloguer's qualifier is unresolved. (b) scarcity_tier for that set is UNKNOWN - no source states a tier, and the stated_odds "1 per box" rests on one bulleted box-contents line, "1 Rated Rookie Autograph", at https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-20-donruss-optic-premium-box-set-basketball-cards. (c) The base checklist's only structural source is tcdb; no aggregator publishes a card-by-card Premium Box Set checklist, so the roster is single-source at card level even though the SET SIZE and PRINT RUN have three or four independent sources. (d) cardboardconnection and checklistcenter are known to copy each other (EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.4) and with Beckett unreachable the usual third structural source is absent, so where both are cited they may be one opinion; the tcdb per-row SN249 flags and the eBay description are the genuinely independent corroboration for the print run.
