- G-001 base_set_size / "Base Spectacular Debut" classification: multiple retail/checklist sources (cardsmithsbreaks.com, checklistcenter.com, checklistinsider.com) describe the product as containing a combined "Base (125) + Base Rookies (50) + Base Spectacular Debut (25) = 200 cards" checklist, numbered contiguously 1-200. Resolved to base_set_size=175 (Base+Base Rookies only), with Base Spectacular Debut recorded as its own 25-card insert set, matching the precedent set by the 2019-20/2020-21/2021-22 Spectra siblings' treatment of the equivalent "Spectracular Performances"/"Spectracular Debut" set (also numbered as a continuation of base, also excluded from base_set_size) and matching Panini's own blog language calling it a "subset" distinct from the base set. Not a certainty - genuinely arguable that this season's product intends the full 200 as one continuous checklist. See release.csv and sets.csv notes for the full reasoning.
- G-002 tcdb.com's set-overview page states "Total Cards: 239" for the product with no visible per-subset breakdown in the fetched content. 239 does not match 175, 200, or any combination of set sizes found by this pass (closest combinations checked: 175+25=200; 175+25+42(Rookie Jersey Autographs)=242). Not used to override the card-level checklist evidence for base_set_size; left unresolved.
- G-003 release_date disagreement: cardlines.com states "September 6th, 2024" while six other sources (cardsmithsbreaks.com, checklistcenter.com, checklistinsider.com, breakninja.com, tcdb.com, steelcitycollectibles.com "9/11/24") agree on September 11, 2024. cardlines.com's page also carried a base-parallel print-run list naming parallels ("Hyper", "Neon Blue/Green/Pink/Orange Die-Cut", "Neon Splatter", "Neon Marble") not found on any other source for this product, resembling Prizm/Donruss Optic naming rather than Spectra naming - the whole page is treated as unreliable for this product and neither its date nor its parallel list is used anywhere in these files. Resolved to 2024-09-11 by 6-source majority.
- G-004 Card count of 100 for the Titan insert is single-sourced to checklistcenter.com. cardsmithsbreaks.com, checklistinsider.com, gogts.net, breakninja.com and blog.paniniamerica.net all describe the set (Gold #/10, Gold Vinyl 1/1 parallels) but none states a card count.
- G-005 No card-level checklist for the Full Capacity SP insert (25 cards) was located by this pass despite targeted searches; per spec, card-level checklists for SP (not SSP/case-hit) inserts are out of ssp_cards.csv scope, so this is recorded here only as an unresolved checklist gap, not an omission from the scarcity pass's required file.
- G-006 The Base #/199, International #/10, International Neon Splatter #/8, International Gold #/3 and International Black 1/1 parallel tiers are single-sourced to cardsmithsbreaks.com; checklistcenter.com confirms only the core 11-tier list (Celestial, Supernova, Interstellar, Astral, Meta, Gold, Marble, Nebula Logoman, Blue/Purple/Gold Wave FOTL). Included in the sets.csv parallel-tier note per the precedent set by the 2022-23 Spectra sibling (which single-sourced its own "Wave FOTL" tiers the same way), but not independently corroborated.
- G-007 For each of these six autograph sets, the "Base" print-run tier and any International-branded parallel tier are single-sourced to cardsmithsbreaks.com; checklistcenter.com corroborates only the core non-Base, non-International tiers (typically Astral/Interstellar through Nebula). See each set's row in sets.csv for the specific tier list.
- G-008 Own parallel tier for each of these six sets is single-sourced to checklistcenter.com; cardsmithsbreaks.com's detailed per-set parallel fetch did not surface these six sets at all (only reached through Illustrious Legends Signatures before truncating), and checklistinsider.com/gogts.net/breakninja.com give card counts but not parallel tiers for these sets.
- G-009 Own parallel tier for each of these five memorabilia-only insert sets is single-sourced to checklistcenter.com. Card counts are corroborated by checklistinsider.com. These five relic-only sets were not present at all in the 2022-23 Spectra sibling's sets.csv (that release recorded no memorabilia-only sets) - treated as a genuine year-over-year lineup addition rather than a prior-year omission, but flagged since it departs from the sibling pattern.
- G-010 One checklistcenter.com fetch pass listed "Universal Die-Cut - #/8" adjacent to the International-tier parallel list rather than the main hobby-tier list (while a separate fetch of the same domain, and cardsmithsbreaks.com, both placed it in the main hobby list). Classified as channel=hobby in parallels.csv per majority placement and consistency with its hobby classification in the 2022-23 Spectra sibling, but the placement is not fully consistent across fetches of the same source. - G-011 beckett.com/news and checklistinsider.com's own per-set autograph parallel pages were expected to be unreliable/blocked per the standing source notes for this project; checklistinsider.com's main checklist page was in fact reachable and used, but its per-set parallel-tier detail was not as granular as cardsmithsbreaks.com/checklistcenter.com. cardboardconnection.com returned a 404 for this product and was not used.
- G-012 Wavelength Autographs (card_count 14): ZERO card-level rows resolved - no checklist written. tcdb has NO page for this set in this release. Endpoints tried: Inserts.cfm on the parent sid 438364 (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/438364/2023-24-Panini-Spectra) lists no Wavelength entry among the 173 it renders; tcdb set search (https://www.tcdb.com/Search.cfm?SearchType=Sets&Criteria=Spectra+Wavelength) returns no match; two site-scoped web searches on tcdb.com for the set name return nothing for basketball. sid probing around the Veteran Dual Patch block (602826, 602830, 602831) returned foreign products (2024-25 Panini Noir, 2026 AFL TeamCoach, 2026 Leaf Metal), so the four missing Wavelength sids are NOT adjacent to it. The only tcdb 'Wavelength' set is 2022 Panini Spectra FOOTBALL (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/347486/2022-), a different product and sport - cross-sport pollution, not this set. breakninja.com names Wavelength Autographs in its product highlights but carries no card-level entries for it. The set is real (sets.csv sources it to checklistcenter.com and checklistinsider.com); tcdb simply has not catalogued it. Next pass: the six entries Inserts.cfm self-counts but does not render (179 claimed vs 173 shown) are alphabetically Veteran Dual Patch Autographs Gold/Nebula plus four Wavelength sids - a raw-HTML or browser read of Inserts.cfm should surface them directly.
- G-014 Inserts.cfm enumeration is INCOMPLETE and self-inconsistent on this release, but did NOT hit the hard client-side wall the briefing anticipated. https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/438364/2023-24-Panini-Spectra renders a table headed 'Insert Sets (179)' while only 173 entries actually come back, cutting mid-name at entry 173 ('Veteran Dual Patch A'). A re-fetch under a DIFFERENT valid slug with ?SORT=DESC (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/438364/2023-24-Panini-Spectra-Basketball-Cards?SORT=DESC) returned the SAME ascending order and the same self-count of 179 but a DIFFERENT truncation profile - so the cut is stochastic, not the deterministic same-entry cut that indicates a client-side limit. Separately, Inserts.cfm OMITS real sids entirely: the Rookie Jersey Autographs base set and ten of its parallel tiers have no entry at all, and it lists only six RJA tiers. Enumeration was completed by other means (parent-checklist gallery paging, sid probing, targeted search). Only Wavelength Autographs remains unreached - see G-012.
- G-016 27 of 28 rows written. ONE ROW WITHHELD: the token AA-JPK is rendered on TWO players - Jalen Pickett and Jalen Wilson - on both https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/464747/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Aspiring-Autographs-Green and https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/464740/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Aspiring-Autographs-Nebula. Judged a DATA-ENTRY SMEAR, not a genuine initials collision, on three grounds: (1) the Green page exposes both rows' ViewCard cids and they are ADJACENT (cid/26456577 Jalen Pickett, cid/26456578 Jalen Wilson) - the row entered immediately after inherited its predecessor's number; (2) the suffix JPK is a clean fit for Jalen PicKett and no fit at all for Jalen Wilson; (3) the two men are demonstrably distinct people in this very release, carrying 234 and 242 respectively in Rookie Jersey Autographs. Jalen Pickett's AA-JPK row is written; JALEN WILSON (Brooklyn Nets) IS WITHHELD AND NAMED HERE so the roster survives even though his number does not. Reconstructing his real AA- code from a sibling set would be derivation and was refused.
- G-017 7 of 8 rows written. ONE ROW WITHHELD: the 8th card renders the literal string 'TBD' in tcdb's card-number column, on all three tiers checked - base https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/602827/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Veteran-Dual-Patch-Autographs, Gold https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/602828/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Veteran-Dual-Patch-Autographs-Gold and Nebula https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/602829/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Veteran-Dual-Patch-Autographs-Nebula. 'TBD' is not a card number and is unwritable. THE CARD IS: KLAY THOMPSON / TRAE YOUNG (Golden State Warriors / Atlanta Hawks). The set's other seven codes are team abbreviations (VDP-DAL, VDP-DEN, VDP-MIN, VDP-PHX, VDP-ROY, VDP-SAS, VDP-UTA); guessing this card's suffix from that pattern would be derivation and was refused. UNIT NOTE: card_count 8 counts CARDS not signers - each card carries two signers.
- G-018 NAMING DISCREPANCY, recorded not acted on: tcdb names this set 'Retrospect Autograph' (singular 'Autograph', lower-case 's') across its base sid and all six parallel tiers, e.g. https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/456945/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Retrospect-Autograph. sets.csv carries 'RetroSpect Autographs'. Rows were written under sets.csv's spelling byte for byte per spec; sets.csv was NOT edited. The mapping is certain on evidence other than the name: the RSA- prefix, the then-and-now two-team roster, and a union card count of 27 matching sets.csv exactly.
- G-019 team_or_school is EMPTY on all 25 rows, deliberately and for the whole set rather than inconsistently. This set has no sid of its own on tcdb; its cards 176-200 were read off the parent checklist's gallery pages (https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/438364/2023-24-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=18 and pages 19 and 20), and Gallery renders no team column for this set. Card numbers and player names are fully sourced and the set reconciles at 25/25. sets.csv's own independently-sourced note additionally indicates the set lists players under their DEBUT team rather than their current team (it cites #191 Kevin Durant as Seattle SuperSonics), so filling team from a current-roster source would have been positively wrong here, not merely unsourced.
- G-020 MARKETPLACE CORROBORATION ATTEMPTED AND NOT OBTAINED - the 201-245 numbers rest on tcdb alone. The spec requires a free-text seller title before writing plain integers onto an autograph set. Three candidate eBay listings were found by search with clean non-catalogue titles and matching numbers (Keyontae Johnson #231, Mouhamed Gueye #210, Ausar Thompson #226), but https://www.ebay.com/itm/335711643925 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/236227602666 both now return 404 (listings ended), and https://www.ebay.com/itm/336146407184 fetched successfully with the title '2023-24 Panini Spectra - Rookie Jersey Autographs /199 Ausar Thompson #226' but ALSO carries the tcdb fingerprint string '(AU, MEM, RC)' in its related-search module - which makes it tcdb-seeded and circular, not independent corroboration. The rows were written anyway on structural grounds, stated here so a reader can judge: the block is NOT a 1..N display index because it begins at 201 (past the 200-card base + Base Spectacular Debut run) and contains interior holes at 223, 235 and 236; three independent tcdb views (parent checklist gallery, Supernova tier, Nebula Logoman tier) render the same numbers against the same players; and the per-row flag 'SN199' matches the Base #/199 tier sets.csv records from a non-tcdb source. A future pass with a live marketplace listing should confirm or overturn this.
- G-021 METHOD FINDING worth carrying forward on this line: tcdb's 'Total Cards' header is STALE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS on this release and must never be used as a row target. Understating: the parent states 239 while its block runs to 245 (see G-015). Overstating: Aspiring Autographs' base page states 'Total Cards: 28' but its own Gallery page 3 renders only 5 cards (https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/454313/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Aspiring-Autographs?PageIndex=3), proving 25; Deep Space Signatures' base page states 32 but its Gallery pagination ends at page 3 with 9 rows and page 4 renders nothing (https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/454330/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Deep-Space-Signatures?PageIndex=4), proving 29. In both cases the missing cards were real and were recovered from a PARALLEL tier, not from the base page. Separately, ViewSet.cfm truncation on this release is strongly stochastic: sid 454303 (Titan) returned 50 rows, then 86, then 77 across three fetches under three valid slugs, all against a true 100.
- G-022 PRE-EXISTING FORMAT DEFECT, flagged not fixed: the 25 Color Blast rows already in insert_cards.csv carry no full https:// URL in their notes column - they name 'checklistcenter.com and tcdb.com's dedicated Color Blast set page' in prose only. That is the repo's documented resolvable-source failure. Those rows were NOT edited (this pass was scoped append-only and the rows are substantively correct - their 1-25 checklist was independently re-confirmed against https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/454300/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Color-Blast during this pass's source calibration). A mechanical notes-only repair pass should add the URL: the tcdb source is https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/454300/2023-24-Panini-Spectra---Color-Blast .
