- G-001 NOIR ADDENDUM CLASSIFICATION, AND THE PRECISE REASON NO base_card_tiers.csv WAS WRITTEN. 2016-17 Panini Noir has 200 base cards over 100 distinct players -- a Black and White card and a Color card for every player -- so a dedupe keyed on player name destroys the release. The addendum's case (c) test, one card number carrying two versions at once, is REFUTED: the two versions carry different numbers (card 1 and card 131 are both Kevin Durant; 100 and 230 are both Caris LeVert). By substance this is case (b), a partitioned base numbering: Black and White veterans 1-70, Black and White rookies 71-100, Color veterans 131-200, Color rookies 201-230. IT STILL CANNOT BE WRITTEN AS TIERS. Card numbers 101-130 are not base cards -- they are the Rookie Patch Autographs block, flagged AU, MEM on every row, excluded from base_set_size by EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.3 -- so the partition has to jump from 100 to 131. check_tier_partition in migrations/009_triggers_and_views.sql loops the tiers ordered by range_start and raises 'base_card_tiers for % do not tile: gap or overlap at %' whenever a range_start is not the previous range_end plus one, so the four rows would be REJECTED at COMMIT even though their card_counts sum correctly to 200 (70+30+70+30). Per the addendum's case (c) instruction the structure is written in words in release.csv and here instead of being forced into a spelling. WHAT THE SCHEMA CANNOT HOLD, stated exactly: a base numbering partitioned into named ranges that is INTERRUPTED by an excluded block. This is a different shape from flawless-bkb-2018-19, whose blocker is an unissued interior number; here the numbers exist and belong to another set. A range_start-independent partition, or a tier table allowing non-contiguous ranges whose counts still sum to base_set_size, would hold it. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-121736/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-trading-card-checklist ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards
- G-002 THE 30-NUMBER HOLE IN THE BASE RUN IS NOT UNISSUED NUMBERS, AND THE CHECK THAT SETTLED IT IS THE ONE CAV-045 AND CAV-044 PRESCRIBE. The parent checklist renders no row at 101-130. Read off the parent alone that looks like thirty unissued interior numbers. It is not. CAV-044 requires a PARALLEL page before recording a hole: tcdb's Gold parallel (sid 156637, Total Cards 200) and Platinum parallel (sid 156638, Total Cards 200) were both opened and both render the identical hole -- no row at 101, 110, 120 or 130 on either, and Gold's Checklist page 2 opens at 131 Kevin Durant. CAV-045 requires opening the rows and reading the flag column: tcdb sid 156639 Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White renders all thirty numbers 101-130, every row AU, MEM, SN99, and sids 156640, 156641, 156642, 156643, 156644, 156645 and 156646 render the same thirty numbers at SN75, SN35, SN1, SN1, SN35, SN1 and SN1. So 101-130 ARE issued, they are autograph cards, and EXTRACTION_SPEC 5.3 excludes them from base_set_size. A SECOND, NON-tcdb LINEAGE AGREES: cardboardconnection prints its own checklist for this release and files 101-130 -- '101 Jaylen Brown - Boston Celtics' through '130 Pascal Siakam - Toronto Raptors' -- under its Rookie Patch Autographs heading rather than under the base set, and sportscardchecklist's base checklist jumps from '100 Caris LeVert' straight to '131 Kevin Durant Color'. The exclusion is also what makes the index arithmetic close: Gallery page 10 (indices 91-100) renders numbers 91-100 and Gallery page 11 (indices 101-110) renders 131-140. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156639/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Rookie-Patch-Autographs-Black-and-White ; https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156637/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Gold
- G-003 BASE PRINT RUN 79, AND A QUALIFICATION OF WHAT THE 2017-18 BUILD RECORDED. Every base row renders the literal tcdb token SN79 -- Checklist pages 1 and 2 and Gallery pages 9, 10, 11, 18, 19 and 20, all 200 rows seen at least once -- and sportscardchecklist prints 'Serial/79' on its own base rows, a second lineage. data/noir-bkb-2017-18/gaps.csv G-014 states '79 in 2017-18, 85 in 2018-19, and 99 in every season from 2019-20 to 2024-25' and calls 79 the third distinct base run in three consecutive seasons. That is not contradicted but it is narrower than the evidence: 2016-17 is ALSO 79, so 79 spans at least two consecutive seasons and 2017-18 is not its only one. NO FLOOR IS CLAIMED for the Noir line: the 2016-17 scope memo section 3a records Noir present in tcdb's 2015-16 index (sid 124797) and its 2014-15 index (sid 115432), and no source consulted here states a debut. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-121736/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-trading-card-checklist
- G-004 TWO SET-SCOPE PARALLEL TIERS ARE PROVABLY SERIAL NUMBERED WITH A PER-CARD VARIABLE RUN, which this schema cannot express, so both carry print_run=UNKNOWN and serial_numbered=UNKNOWN. UNKNOWN HERE DOES NOT MEAN UNNUMBERED. The distinct token census, swept over rows rather than sampled: Jumbo Materials Patches (tcdb sid 156655, Total Cards 72) renders MEM plus SN1, SN2, SN3, SN5, SN6, SN7, SN9 and SN10 -- eight distinct tokens over the 42 of 72 rows rendered, so the census is PARTIAL and a ninth token may exist. Jumbo Materials Prime (sid 156656, Total Cards 73) renders MEM plus SN2, SN7, SN10, SN13, SN15, SN21 and SN25 over all 73 rows, a full census. Neither is a modal token and neither was written as one. This is the same expressiveness gap CAV-041 and EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.3 describe; it is recorded again because it is now costing values in a sixth consecutive season. Both tiers are set-scope, where UNKNOWN is at least legal -- had they been base-scope there would have been no legal row at all. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156655/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Jumbo-Materials-Patches ; https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156656/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Jumbo-Materials-Prime
- G-005 NINETEEN SETS HAVE A PRINT RUN AND sets.csv HAS NO print_run COLUMN TO HOLD IT, so every figure below survives only as prose. Flat runs, uniform across every row rendered: Metal Frame /25 (sid 156647); Autographed Prime Black and White /40 (156650); Rookie Noir Jumbo Materials /99 (156657); Rookie Materials Color Patches /10 (156666); Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White /99 (156639); Rookie Patch Autographs Color /75 (156640); Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White Horizontal /35 (156641); Rookie Patch Autographs Color Horizontal /35 (156644). PER-CARD VARIABLE runs, distinct token sets swept over rows: Auto Noir Color SN75 and SN99 (156648, full 76-row census); Autographed Prime Color SN40 on 35 rows and SN7 on card 11 Dan Issel (156652, full 36-row census); Jumbo Materials SN99, SN89, SN75, SN49, SN48, SN40, SN30 (156654); Materials Black and White Patches SN10 with SN6 on card 27 and SN3 on card 37 (156660, full 70-row census); Materials Black and White Prime SN49, SN35, SN30, SN25, SN15, SN8 (156661, 52 of 68 rows); Materials Color Patches SN10 with SN6 on card 27 and SN3 on card 37 (156662, full census); Materials Color Prime SN49, SN35, SN30, SN25, SN15, SN8 (156663, full 68-row census); Rookie Materials Black and White Patches SN25 with SN10 on card 10 and SN7 on card 23 (156664, full census); Rookie Materials Black and White Prime SN99, SN61, SN35, SN33 (156665, 20 of 28 rows); Rookie Materials Color Prime SN99, SN92, SN53, SN45 (156667, full 27-row census); Spotlight Signatures SN125, SN75, SN123 plus four rows carrying AU and no serial token (156668). Nothing above was written into card_count, which means how many cards. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/sport-basketball/year-2016-17/index-panini-noir/trading-card-checklists-and-product-information
- G-006 TWO INVENTORY DIVERGENCES BETWEEN THE TWO LINEAGES, NAMED RATHER THAN MERGED. (1) METAL FRAME. tcdb gives it one sid (156647, Total Cards 100) and no sub-group rows. sportscardchecklist does not list it as a set at all: it folds the same cards into its own base checklist at numbers 231-330 and names FOUR sub-groups on the rows themselves -- 'Metal Frame Veterans' at 231, 'Metal Frame Curtain Calls' at 300, 'Metal Frame Encore' at 301 and 'Metal Frame Vintage Art' at 330. The sub-group boundaries were NOT determined and no sub-group rows were written. Note the 2017-18 sibling files five separately-named Metal Frame sets, so this release's single row is a structural divergence from its own next season, recorded rather than smoothed. (2) SPOTLIGHT SIGNATURES. tcdb renders one set of 22 (sid 156668); sportscardchecklist lists 'Spotlight Signatures Horizontal' (12 Cards) and 'Spotlight Signatures Vertical' (10 Cards), summing to 22 exactly. One row is written, named as tcdb prints it. The 2017-18 sibling files the Horizontal and Vertical halves as two sets. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/sport-basketball/year-2016-17/index-panini-noir/trading-card-checklists-and-product-information ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-121736/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-trading-card-checklist
- G-007 JUMBO MATERIALS: A ROW COUNT AND A NUMBER SPAN THAT DO NOT RECONCILE, LEFT UNRESOLVED. tcdb sid 156654 states Total Cards 80 and sportscardchecklist independently states 80 Cards, so 80 is written. The same Checklist.cfm fetch that stated 80 rows rendered listed 77 contiguous card numbers, 1 through 77, with no repeats. Three rows are therefore unaccounted for: either three numbers past 77, or three duplicate-numbered variation rows, or a lossy render. Its Patches sibling spans 2-79 and its Prime sibling spans 2-80, both of which reach past 77, which makes the 'numbers past 77' reading the likelier one -- but that is an inference and nothing was written from it. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC a summarising fetch's own arithmetic is not evidence; the enumerated list was taken and the discrepancy is recorded here. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156654/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Jumbo-Materials
- G-008 FOUR MATERIALS FAMILIES HAVE A PATCHES TIER AND A PRIME TIER BUT NO BASE TIER, so all eight are filed as sets in their own right rather than as parallels of an absent parent. Neither lineage carries a plain 'Materials Black and White', 'Materials Color', 'Rookie Materials Black and White' or 'Rookie Materials Color' set: tcdb's Inserts.cfm Insert Sets section renders exactly 30 rows and its own heading reads 'Insert Sets (30)', my count agreeing, and none of the 30 is such a set; sportscardchecklist's 33-entry product index likewise has none. This is evidenced absence from two lineages, NOT a claim that no such set was printed -- Inserts.cfm is documented to omit real sets, and the sid block is fully occupied (see the sid gap row) so an omitted set would have to live outside it. If a base Materials tier is ever found, these eight rows should be reclassified as parallels of it. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/sport-basketball/year-2016-17/index-panini-noir/trading-card-checklists-and-product-information
- G-009 ROOKIE PATCH AUTOGRAPHS HORIZONTAL IS FILED AS A SET, NOT AS A 'HORIZONTAL' PARALLEL, AND THE ALTERNATIVE READING IS RECORDED. tcdb gives 'Rookie Patch Autographs Black and White Horizontal' (sid 156641) and 'Rookie Patch Autographs Color Horizontal' (156644) their own sids, and each carries the same thirty card numbers 101-130 and the same roster as its non-Horizontal counterpart (101 Jaylen Brown, 102 Demetrius Jackson, 103 Caris LeVert on both) at a different print run (SN35 against SN99 and SN75). By roster alone that reads like a parallel. It is filed as a SET because each Horizontal carries a Tags parallel of its own (sids 156642 and 156645, both SN1) and parallels.csv cannot nest a parallel under a parallel: filing Horizontal as a parallel would leave its Tags tier with nothing to scope to. The eight Rookie Patch Autographs sids are therefore modelled as four sets with one Tags parallel each. A schema able to express a second-order parallel would model this differently. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir
- G-010 SPOTLIGHT SIGNATURES: FOUR ROWS CARRY AU WITH NO SERIAL TOKEN AND NO CONCLUSION IS DRAWN FROM THAT ABSENCE. ViewSet.cfm on sid 156668 renders all 22 rows with SP- letter codes and gives SP-AW Andrew Wiggins, SP-DL Damian Lillard, SP-IT Isaiah Thomas and SP-JB Jimmy Butler an AU flag with no SN token, while 16 rows carry AU, SN125, one carries AU, SN75 (SP-DN Dirk Nowitzki) and one AU, SN123 (SP-RR Ricky Rubio). A Checklist.cfm fetch of the same sid independently showed AU alone on Wiggins and on Isaiah Thomas, so two of the four tokenless rows are reproduced on a second endpoint. Per CAV-042 an empty flag column is never evidence of absence on its own, so nothing was written as unnumbered; the set is recorded as per-card variable. Note also that the Checklist.cfm fetch returned tcdb's internal image ids (10123453 and up) in place of the printed card-number column -- the documented wrong-column failure -- and the SP- codes were taken from ViewSet.cfm instead. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/156668/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Spotlight-Signatures ; https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/156668/2016-17-Panini-Noir-Spotlight-Signatures
- G-011 CHANNEL IS UNKNOWN WITH AN EMPTY channel_basis ON ALL 13 PARALLEL ROWS, and that is a decision rather than an omission. No source consulted -- tcdb's parent, its Inserts.cfm, its 32 subset pages, cardboardconnection and sportscardchecklist -- states a trade channel, a box SKU or a region for this release or for any individual tier. cardboardconnection states a box configuration only: 'Product Configuration: 10 cards per pack, 1 pack per box, 4 boxes per case'. A pack configuration is not a trade channel and was not promoted to one. Per EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.3 and the database constraint basis_iff_channel_known, an unresolved channel takes an EMPTY basis, never 'unsupported'. Evidence: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards ; https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir
- G-012 ROOKIE FLAG BASIS, AND THE DISCRIMINATIVE TEST THAT LICENSED IT. tcdb renders the literal token RC on every row of 71-100 and 201-230 and on no row of 1-70 or 131-200. The split was confirmed in BOTH directions inside single renderings: one Checklist.cfm page-1 fetch returned rows 1-70 with SN79 alone and rows 71-85 with RC, SN79; Gallery pages 9 and 10 returned RC, SN79 on every tile of 81-100; Gallery pages 18, 19 and 20 returned RC, SN79 on every tile of 201-230; and Checklist page 2 returned SN79 alone on 131-200 and RC, SN79 from 201. cardboardconnection independently states 'The last 30 cards of each subset are for the rookies.' rookie_flag is therefore 'no' on 140 rows and 'yes' on 60, with no UNKNOWN. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards
- G-013 NO STATED NUMERIC PACK ODDS WERE FOUND FOR ANY SET OR PARALLEL IN THIS RELEASE, consistent with CAV-015 recording that Panini publishes no numeric odds for basketball. Every stated_odds, odds_evidence_url and odds_evidence_quote field is empty, and that is evidenced absence of a published figure rather than unfinished research. scarcity_tier is likewise empty on every row, which per CAV-005 means the scarcity pass has not covered this release, not that scarcity is unknown. Evidence: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards ; https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir
- G-014 tcdb SID LAYOUT FOR THIS RELEASE, recorded so a later pass need not re-derive it, with the completeness argument for the set inventory. Parent sid 152850, Total Cards 200. Every subset sits in ONE contiguous block, 156637 to 156668 -- 32 sids, 3,787 above the parent, which reproduces the scope memo's 'the parent is far from its children' finding on a fifth parent. BOTH BOUNDARIES WERE PROVED by ViewSet.cfm probes returning foreign products: 156636 is '2016-17 Upper Deck EuroLeague - Rainbow' (Total Cards 100) and 156669 is '2017 Topps - Sparkle Foil' (Total Cards 700). Inserts.cfm delivered the whole listing with NO truncation and no interpolated sid: its own headings read 'Parallel Sets (2)' and 'Insert Sets (30)' and my own counts of the rendered rows were 2 and 30, and every one of the 32 sids was afterwards confirmed against that page's own heading by opening it. 2 plus 30 equals the 32-sid block exactly, so there is no numeric gap inside the block to probe. sportscardchecklist's independent product index reconciles at 33 entries: the same 32 objects, minus Metal Frame which it folds into its base checklist, plus Spotlight Signatures counted twice because it splits it. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/156636/probe ; https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/156669/probe ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/sport-basketball/year-2016-17/index-panini-noir/trading-card-checklists-and-product-information
- G-015 RELEASE DATE 2017-08-16, agreed by two independent lineages with no disagreement and no estimate label. tcdb's parent page prints 'Release Date: August 16, 2017' and I asked the page directly whether the phrase 'Estimated Release Date' appears anywhere on it: it does not. cardboardconnection's product page prints 'Release Date: 08/16/2017'. Per the scope memo section 1a, cardboardconnection's SEASON-INDEX date is not a release date and was NOT used; the figure above is off its product page. The date is nearly a year after the season began, which is normal for a premium line, and both sources file the product as 2016-17. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards
- G-016 AN Inserts.cfm NOTES-COLUMN FINDING THAT REVERSES AGAINST THIS LINE'S OWN NEXT SEASON, which CAV-036 should carry. On this parent the column renders DIFFERENT THINGS IN DIFFERENT SECTIONS. Its 'Parallel Sets' section carries real serial statements in PROSE format -- the Gold row's cell reads 'Serial numbered to 10' and the Platinum row's reads 'Serial numbered 1/1', asked for character for character -- and it is 2 of 2 annotated, so there are no blank cells and the both-directions blank test cannot be run. Its 'Insert Sets' section on the SAME page carries image-completion percentages on all 30 rows ('5.3% of images added') and not one serial statement in any format, so that section licenses nothing at all. The reversal: data/noir-bkb-2017-18/gaps.csv G-020 records that on the 2017-18 Noir parent the Notes column carried NO print-run information at all on any of its 36 rows, and CAV-036's season tally lists Noir among the parents where the column was useless. One season down it carries two real print runs. The format is not a property of the line, and neither is the semantics. Both figures were confirmed independently by a row-level token sweep and by cardboardconnection, so nothing rests on the column alone. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards
- G-017 ONE TEAM DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN tcdb ENDPOINTS, resolved against the two agreeing renders. Card 85 Jakob Poeltl was rendered 'San Antonio Spurs' by one Checklist.cfm fetch and 'Toronto Raptors' by Gallery.cfm page 9; the same player at card 215 was rendered 'Toronto Raptors' by Gallery.cfm page 19. Toronto is written on both rows, on the two-against-one count and because it is the franchise that drafted him in 2016. This is the only field-level disagreement found across the 200 base rows, and it is recorded because a single summarising fetch getting one team wrong is the documented failure mode and there may be others I did not catch: team_or_school on this release rests on ONE rendering per row except where the Checklist and Gallery reads overlapped (numbers 81-85, 131-140 and 201-206). Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir
- G-018 NO CLAIM IS MADE ABOUT WHETHER THIS RELEASE HAS A BASE-SET VARIATION LAYER, and Errors.cfm was NOT consulted for one, because CAV-020 records that its silence discriminates nothing. What does survive is the base run itself, which rests on an independent contiguous enumeration rather than on any endpoint's silence: all 200 numbers, 1-100 and 131-230, were rendered and each was rendered exactly once, with the index-to-number mapping cross-checked at Gallery pages 9, 10, 11, 18, 19 and 20 and against Checklist pages 1 and 2 under three different sort parameters. A b-suffixed variation row would not surface in that enumeration -- Gallery strips letter suffixes and Checklist renders integers here -- so under-reporting of a variation layer is possible and is not excluded. Evidence: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir ; https://www.tcdb.com/Gallery.cfm/sid/152850/2016-17-Panini-Noir
- G-019 card_tier ON THIS RELEASE IS A FREE LABEL AND RESOLVES TO A NULL tier_id BY DESIGN. The 200 base rows carry card_tier values 'Black and White', 'Rookies Black and White', 'Color' and 'Rookies Color', but no base_card_tiers.csv exists (see the first gap row), so load_pg.py's card_tier-to-tier_name lookup has nothing to match and every row loads with tier_id NULL. CAV-043 names this as the second, legitimate class of that state, alongside the eight hoopspremium seasons, both paninihoops Kobe-tribute seasons and flawless-bkb-2018-19. It is recorded here so that a future consumer does not read the NULL as the silent mismatch CAV-043 warns about. The labels themselves are TWO-LINEAGE, not inferred: cardboardconnection prints a Black and White base section running '1 Kevin Durant - Golden State Warriors' to '70 Jae Crowder - Boston Celtics' and a Color base section running '131 Kevin Durant - Golden State Warriors' to '200 Jae Crowder - Boston Celtics', and states 'The last 30 cards of each subset are for the rookies.'; sportscardchecklist prints the same labels on the rows themselves, including '71 Brandon Ingram Rookies Black and White' and '201 Brandon Ingram Rookies Color'. One caution: the exact HEADING string cardboardconnection uses came back two ways across two fetches of its page ('Black and White Base' and 'Base Black and White Set Checklist'), so the card_tier strings written here follow sportscardchecklist's row wording rather than either heading. Evidence: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-cards ; https://www.sportscardchecklist.com/set-121736/2016-17-panini-noir-basketball-trading-card-checklist
- G-020 TRUNCATION CENSUS MEASURED ON THIS RELEASE, offered as a contribution to CAV-046. My own counts of rows rendered on 100-row Checklist.cfm pages: 75, 85, 76, 83, 78, 77, 75, 25. The 25 is the Metal Frame page (sid 156647) and it matches CAV-046's new floor of 25 of 100 exactly. The row-count-against-number-span tell fired nowhere on the base parent -- every base page rendered a row count equal to its own number span, so no interior rows were dropped -- but it DID fire on the parent's page 2, which rendered 76 rows spanning 131-206 and had dropped its head rather than its tail. The ?sort=0 remedy was mixed, consistent with CAV-046: it took base page 1 from 75 rows to 85, and it returned FEWER rows on Autographed Prime Black and White (25 against 26) while listing the complete 35-number set both times. Gallery.cfm at 10 tiles per page never truncated in six pages fetched. - G-021 CORROBORATION LIMITS, STATED PLAINLY. Only TWO lineages were used: tcdb and sportscardchecklist, plus cardboardconnection, which turned out to be a fuller source than expected: it supplied the release date, the base-version naming, the rookie split, the two base parallel print runs AND its own base checklist with the version ranges and with 101-130 filed under Rookie Patch Autographs. checklistcenter.com carries no 2016-17 Noir page that any search surfaced, and per CAV-037 no URL was constructed for it, so the sibling season's strongest count source is absent here. beckett.com is unreachable and was RE-TESTED here: its 2016-17 Noir news URL returns 302 Found to https://maintenance.beckett.com/ , reconfirming CAV-033 on a further URL. breakninja carries a 2016-17 Noir page but it is team-level aggregate counts only, with no card numbers and no version labels, so it corroborated nothing. gogts.net was not swept. NO MARKETPLACE CORROBORATION WAS ACHIEVED: two eBay searches were run and both returned SOCCER product -- 2016-17 Panini Noir Soccer exists and shares this line's season string, its Color and Black and White vocabulary and even its MC- code prefix, one listing reading '2016-17 Panini Noir - Autographed Memorabilia Martin Skrtel #MC-SKR Color Prime /25 (AU, MEM, RC)'. That is a cross-sport collision hazard for anyone code-searching this line, and that same title carries a tcdb flag string verbatim in parentheses so it was rejected as contaminated on the spec's own test. No print run in this release has therefore been checked against a card in hand, which the 2017-18 sibling did do for its base run. sportscardchecklist's card counts agree with tcdb's Total Cards on 24 of the 25 objects both carry (the exception is Gold, 199 against 200), which is the shared-upstream signature CAV-037 describes, so the two should be read as possibly one lineage on counts. Consequently source_confidence is 'single' on 11 of 13 parallel rows, and 'multi' only on the two base parallels where cardboardconnection states the figure independently. - G-022 ONE CARD-COUNT DISAGREEMENT, RESOLVED AGAINST tcdb AND RECORDED. The Gold base parallel: tcdb sid 156637 states 'Total Cards: 200' while sportscardchecklist's product index states '(199 Cards)'. 200 is used, because tcdb's own rendering of that sid reproduces the base numbering row for row (1-100 and 131-230, with page 1 giving 77 rows and page 2 giving 75) and because the Platinum parallel of the same run is 200 on BOTH sources. The one-card difference was not chased to a specific missing number and could be a real unissued card in the Gold tier. Note Gold is a parallel row in parallels.csv, not a sets.csv row, so no card_count is written for it anywhere. - G-023 A COLUMN-LEVEL RENDERING DIVERGENCE INSIDE ONE FAMILY, recorded because it affects any later card-level pass. Materials Color Patches (sid 156662) renders plain ordinals 1-70 in its card-number column, while its sibling Materials Color Prime (sid 156663) rendered letter codes of the form MC-DNO, MC-JJB, MC-DRO for the SAME players in the SAME order (Dirk Nowitzki, J.J. Barea, Derrick Rose). Its Black and White counterparts both rendered ordinals. Whether the Prime tier really prints codes, or whether one fetch read a different column, was NOT established, and no card-level rows were written for this release, so nothing depends on it. A CHASE_CHECKLIST pass must resolve it before writing card_number for either set. - G-024 A FACTUAL ERROR IN THE TASK BRIEF THIS BUILD WAS GIVEN, recorded so it is not repeated. The brief stated that 'noir-bkb-2017-18 carries 200 base rows over 100 distinct players -- Association and Icon editions of every card'. The 200-over-100 half is correct. The naming half is not: data/noir-bkb-2017-18/base_card_tiers.csv names its four tiers Base Home, Rookies Home, Base Away and Rookies Away, and it is data/noir-bkb-2018-19/base_card_tiers.csv that uses Association Edition, Icon Edition, Rookies Association Edition and Rookies Icon Edition. Neither string is this season's: 2016-17 uses Black and White and Color. Three consecutive seasons of one line, three different vocabularies for the same structure, which is itself the reason a season's tier names must never be inherited.
