- G-001 base_print_run is written unnumbered/assumed, not sourced. No source consulted states the base set's print run in words: cardboardconnection lists "100 cards." (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-spectra-basketball-cards) and checklistcenter "100 Card" (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2017-18-panini-spectra/) with no serial figure, and an omission is not a statement of fact. The value rests on a within-sid positive discriminative test on tcdb (https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/172665/2017-18-Panini-Spectra renders no flag token on rows 1-100 while rendering "AU, MEM, RC, SN299" on rows 101-135 of the same page), which licenses unnumbered but is indirect evidence and therefore basis=assumed. CONTRADICTION WITH THE CATALOGUE, stated plainly: spectra-bkb-2018-19 carries base_print_run=175 with basis=sourced, and spectra-bkb-2019-20 carries unnumbered/assumed. This line genuinely reverses between seasons; the 2017-18 value was established independently and nothing was inherited.
- G-002 Release date 2018-07-18 rests on two editorial sources - cardboardconnection "Release Date: 07/18/2018" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-spectra-basketball-cards) and checklistcenter "July 18, 2018" (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2017-18-panini-spectra/). Neither labels it an estimate, but per reference/caveats.csv CAV-037 these two sites are not interchangeable yet remain plausibly ONE LINEAGE (both descend from Panini sell sheets), so this may be one opinion counted twice. beckett.com is unreachable for this season (302 to a maintenance page). A first-party Panini announcement was not found.
- G-003 THE SET'S PRINT RUN IS NOT FLAT AND TWO EDITORIAL SOURCES ARE REFUTED BY ENUMERATION. checklistcenter states "Rookie Jersey Autographs Set: 35 Cards - Serial Numbered #/299" and cardboardconnection states 35 cards numbered #/299, both unhedged. Enumerating all 35 rows of the block at https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/172665/2017-18-Panini-Spectra?PageIndex=2 gives SN299 on 34 rows and SN30 on card 106 (Josh Hart); the SN30 was confirmed on a second differently-parameterised fetch (?PageIndex=2&sort=0). The set is therefore serial numbered with a per-card variable run. sets.csv has no print_run column and the schema cannot express serial_numbered=yes with print_run=UNKNOWN, so the fact is carried only here and in sets.csv notes.
- G-004 Written UNKNOWN/UNKNOWN because the tier's own rows disagree: https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/179724/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Neon-Blue?PageIndex=2 renders "AU, MEM, SN99" on 34 of the 35 block rows and "AU, MEM, SN76" on card 109 (De'Aaron Fox). The tier IS provably serial numbered; the schema cannot say so with an unknown run (EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.3), so both columns collapse to UNKNOWN. The held fact is: serial numbered, per-card variable, tokens {SN99, SN76}.
- G-005 Written UNKNOWN/UNKNOWN because the tier's own rows disagree: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/179733/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Catalysts-Gold renders "MEM, SN10" on 34 of 35 rows and "MEM, SN9" on CAT-10 (Bradley Beal). Held fact: serial numbered, per-card variable, tokens {SN10, SN9}.
- G-006 Written UNKNOWN/UNKNOWN because the tier's own rows disagree: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/179753/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Illustrious-Legends-Signatures-Neon-Blue renders "AU, SN49" on 30 rows and "AU, SN34" on IL-SKP. Held fact: serial numbered, per-card variable, tokens {SN49, SN34}.
- G-007 TWO UNRESOLVED ITEMS. (1) COUNT CONTESTED: card_count is written as 20 on the strength of cardboardconnection "Global Icons Autographs Set Checklist - 20 cards" (https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18-panini-spectra-basketball-cards), checklistcenter "Global Icons Autos Set: 20 Cards" (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2017-18-panini-spectra/) and two of this set's own tcdb parallel pages (Neon Green sid 179748 and Neon Orange sid 179749, each "Total Cards: 20"); but tcdb's BASE page https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/179744/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Global-Icons-Autographs states "Total Cards: 19", as do the Gold and Nebula parallel pages, and the Neon Blue page states 15. The base page is self-consistent at 19 while its own rendered rows enumerate 20 distinct card numbers, so 19 vs 20 is unresolved. (2) SET PRINT RUN REFUTED: checklistcenter's unhedged "Serial Numbered #/149" is false - the enumerated distinct tokens on the base page are SN149, SN135, SN99 and SN49. cardboardconnection's "#/149 down to #/49" is a range, not a print run, and does not predict SN135.
- G-008 COUNT DISAGREEMENT RESOLVED AGAINST tcdb'S BASE PAGE, RECORDED RATHER THAN SMOOTHED. card_count is written as 29. tcdb's base page https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/179769/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Next-Era states "Total Cards: 28" and omits NXT-6, while three of its own parallel pages (Gold 179770, Nebula 179771, Neon Orange 179774) each state 29 and render NXT-1..NXT-29 complete, and both editorial sources say 29 ("Next Era Relics Set Checklist - 29 cards", "Next Era Relics Set: 29 Cards"). The base page is judged one row short. NXT-6 was not individually verified against a marketplace listing.
- G-009 SINGLE-LINEAGE EDITORIAL COVERAGE. checklistcenter OMITS this set entirely from its 2017-18 Spectra page (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2017-18-panini-spectra/), which lists eleven sets and not this one. The set is real - tcdb carries it with its own sid (179782) and five parallel sids, and cardboardconnection carries it ("Spectacular Swatches Relics Set Checklist - 29 cards. Serial numbered #/99"). Recorded because an editorial omission of a whole set is a coverage fact about the SOURCE that a later pass should know, and because it means the count rests on tcdb plus one editorial site rather than two.
- G-010 SET-LEVEL PRINT RUNS CANNOT BE STORED. sets.csv has no print_run column (EXTRACTION_SPEC 2.2) and these are properties of the set, not parallel tiers, so they exist only as prose in sets.csv notes and here: Catalysts #/199 (flat, "MEM, SN199" on all 38 rows), Epic Legends #/149 (flat), Next Era #/199 (flat), Spectacular Swatches #/99 (flat), Triple Threats #/99 (flat). And these are VARIABLE and have no flat figure at all: Rookie Jersey Autographs {299,30}, Global Icons Autographs {149,135,99,49}, Illustrious Legends Signatures {149,99,49,10}, In The Zone Autographs {99,75,49}, Locked In Autographs {149,125,99,49}, Rising Stars Signatures {199,99}, Vested Veterans {99,87}. Seven of twelve non-base sets are variable-run.
- G-011 EDITORIAL FLAT FIGURES REFUTED BY ENUMERATION - four of them, all from checklistcenter and all unhedged (https://www.checklistcenter.com/2017-18-panini-spectra/): "Global Icons Autos Set: 20 Cards - Serial Numbered #/149" (real tokens SN149, SN135, SN99, SN49); "Illustrious Legends Signatures Set: 40 Cards - Serial Numbered #/149" (real tokens SN149, SN99, SN49, SN10); "Rising Star Signatures Set: 35 Cards - Serial Numbered #/199" (real tokens SN199, SN99); "Vested Veterans Relics Set: 29 Cards - Serial Numbered #/99" (real tokens SN99, SN87 on VV-19). Its two hedged entries ("In the Zone Autos ... Serial Numbered as Noted", "Locked In Auto ... Serial Numbered as Noted") are honest and were confirmed variable. The unhedged/hedged split is NOT predictive of which sets are flat - Catalysts, Epic Legends, Next Era and Triple Threats carry unhedged figures that enumeration CONFIRMED.
- G-012 INSERT-SET PARALLEL LADDERS ARE SINGLE-SOURCED TO tcdb. All 63 set-scope rows carry source_confidence=single. No editorial source enumerates a per-tier print run for any insert or autograph set in this release: cardboardconnection gives only ranges ("with multiple parallel tiers from Neon Blue through Nebula", "#/49 to 1/1") and checklistcenter gives none at all. Marketplace corroboration was not attempted tier by tier. Note the ladders are NOT uniform across sets and could not have been inferred: Neon Blue is /99 on Catalysts, Epic Legends and Next Era but /49 on the six autograph sets, and Neon Green is /25 on most sets but /35 on In The Zone Autographs and Rising Stars Signatures.
- G-013 THE tcdb FLAG COLUMN WAS MEASURED DROPPING TOKENS ON THIS PARENT, IN THE DIRECTION THAT WRITES A FALSE VALUE. Catalysts Neon Blue (sid 179735) rendered an EMPTY flag column on every row under ViewSet.cfm and again under Checklist.cfm?sort=0, while the default Checklist.cfm rendered "SN99" on all 38 rows. Catalysts Neon Green (sid 179736) rendered EMPTY under Checklist.cfm and "MEM, SN25" under ViewSet.cfm and under Gallery.cfm?PageIndex=1. Following either negative would have written unnumbered on a provably numbered tier. Every unnumbered value in this release (Silver, White Sparkle) therefore rests on a positive discriminative test, never on a single endpoint's silence. Recorded so a later pass does not read a blank cell here as absence.
- G-014 VARIATION SETS UNSUPPORTED, NOT DISPROVED. https://www.tcdb.com/Errors.cfm/sid/172665/2017-18-Panini-Spectra returns "No errors or variations have been added for this set yet." Per reference/caveats.csv CAV-020 that sentence discriminates nothing - the same string is returned for sets that provably carry UER rows - so it is quoted here as a row of evidence about the endpoint and NOT used to conclude anything. What does survive is independent: base_set_size=100 and the contiguity of cards 1-100 rest on a contiguous enumeration across three endpoints, and no b-suffixed or duplicate-numbered row was rendered anywhere in the parent. A variation layer carried as b-suffixed rows would not necessarily surface in that enumeration, and Gallery.cfm strips the b suffix, so absence of one here is not evidence of absence.
- G-015 NOT IN SCOPE FOR THIS PASS: insert_cards.csv. The card-level checklists for the twelve non-base sets are a separate pass governed by CHASE_CHECKLIST_SPEC.md and no insert_cards.csv was written. The card-number schemes were observed in passing and are letter-coded (CAT-, EL-, GI-, IL-, IZ-, LI-, NXT-, RS-, SS-, TT-, VV-) with at least one non-standard token - a bare "NNO" row for Serge Ibaka in Global Icons Autographs, and bare ordinals "18" (In The Zone Autographs) and "27" (Rising Stars Signatures) that look like tcdb placeholders and must not be written as card numbers without a marketplace check.
- G-016 SET NAMES DIFFER BETWEEN SOURCES AND tcdb'S FORM WAS USED. checklistcenter writes "Locked In Auto" for tcdb's "Locked In Autographs", "Rising Star Signatures" (singular) for "Rising Stars Signatures", "Global Icons Autos" for "Global Icons Autographs", and appends "Relics" to the five memorabilia sets ("Catalysts Relics", "Epic Legends Relics", "Next Era Relics", "Triple Threats Relics", "Vested Veterans Relics"); cardboardconnection appends "Set Checklist" and also uses "Relics". tcdb's bare forms are written because they are what the product pages render and what the sid inventory uses (https://www.tcdb.com/Inserts.cfm/sid/172665/2017-18-Panini-Spectra). Flagged so a resolver matching editorial strings knows to expect the suffixes.
- G-017 THE SIX ROOKIE JERSEY AUTOGRAPHS PARALLEL TIERS HAVE NO SIDS AND SHARE THEIR SIDS WITH THE BASE PARALLELS. tcdb files Gold, Nebula, Neon Blue, Neon Green, Neon Orange and Neon Pink for the block as rows 101-135 of the BASE parallel sids 179722-179727, so one sid carries two scopes at two different print runs in at least one case (Neon Blue: /99 across the base run, and a variable {SN99, SN76} across the block). The four remaining base parallels - Red, Silver, Wave and White Sparkle - have "Total Cards: 100" and do NOT extend to the block, so the block has six parallel tiers and the base run has ten. Recorded because sizing any of these tiers off its sid header (135) or off "the base run is 100" would be wrong in opposite directions.
- G-018 Card 115 (John Collins) is not carried by this tier. https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/179723/2017-18-Panini-Spectra-Nebula?PageIndex=2 renders 34 rows over 101-135 with 115 absent, and the sid header states "Total Cards: 134" against 135 for the five other block tiers - the header reconciles exactly (100 base + 34 block). Whether the card was not produced at this tier or is simply uncatalogued was not established, and the run written (1) is the token the other 34 rows carry.
- G-019 SINGLE WEAKEST CLAIM IN THIS RELEASE, named deliberately: card_count=20 for Global Icons Autographs. Every other count in sets.csv is backed by a tcdb page whose header and rendered rows agree AND by at least one editorial source. This one is written against tcdb's own base-page header of 19, on the strength of two editorial sources that this same release has already refuted on print runs, plus two of five parallel pages. See G-007.
